My mother was admitted for inpatient rehabilitation and has been in for a week. She is enthusiastic about the doctors and the nursing staff. They have treated her with courtesy and respect and go out of their way to accommodate her needs. A great example is Shirley, who ran to get her two containers of cranberry juice when she noticed my mom was not drinking her coffee on the dinner tray. This is characteristic of their attentive and caring staff. Mom feels that she is in good hands with the doctors and nurses. The therapy capabilities are good and she is making excellent progress. The Administrator takes the time to visit regularly. The room is clean and well maintained. Mom and I are well pleased and the facility earned high praise for their quality and compassionate care.

Woefully understaffed. New hires quit same day they start. Nurse calls ignored. Phone system to reach staff is awful. Food service is atrocious, even state inspectors cited this place: hot dogs, baked beans and tater tots served frequently for dinner. Or grilled cheese sandwiches, not even fully grilled. Not serving physician-ordered protein beverage supplements. Water the only beverage served with meal at least once. Rooms are dark and dim. More like a homeless shelter. Not a place for comfort and recovery. 4 patients to one bathroom. Private-pay cost is outrageous for conditions and care. All the 'glowing' reviews are old: pre-2022.

Under new director October 2022. My relative is a 60ish person with cancer. Desperately wants transferred to a different facility. Food service is terrible. Nurses and aides severely short handed, therefore impatient with residents. Not enough equipment (pillows!) to go around. I would never recommend.

I wanted to thank all the nurses and aides who took such good care of me during my stay. Thank you Bonnie, Kirsten, Renee, Rebecca, Tory, and Connor. You were all patient, caring, and efficient. This is a very good facility.

I have been here for two weeks and have two more to go. This is run beautifully and every staff member is caring and willing to go out of their way to see that I am comfortable at all times. With the current lockdown there are no activities but everyone makes sure you are taken care of in your room. My room is large and overlooking a pond surrounded by woods that gives a beautiful view of deer coming and going morning and evening. The staff is right on time with medication and highly trained. I highly recommend this rehabilitation center.

My mom was sent here after hip surgery. Of course this was during the covid-19 breakout, which was concerning enough. Not being able to see her and be with her was stressful. But the team of nurses and care givers were always calling me giving me updates and always willing to answer any and all questions we had. We were able to talk to her daily. Some even shared their lunch if she didn’t like what was being served! They go above and beyond here. I could not be happier with care she has gotten here. She is to come home this week, after being there since March. You can’t go wrong sending a loved one here.

Our dad has been in and out of several rehab facilities over the past few months following hospital stays, and this facility was by far the best. It is actually a mansion with an additional wing, which seemed quaint at first; the rooms were smaller and closer to one another, which meant the staff was always nearby. The annoying alarms we know from other facilities were muted here, which made it a more calming environment. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and staffed with friendly and helpful people who had an amazing team coherence: The nurses and aides were very attentive to his needs and to our questions, the therapists could always give us an update on his status and progress, the activities coordinator kept residents engaged, and the social worker was direct with us about prospects for Dad's continued recovery, helped us to navigate the insurance coverage wilderness, and provided helpful recommendations about his options after leaving this facility. Everyone worked well together, and we feel that Dad received the best post-hospital care here.

My mother lived at North Hills HR for over five years and she thought she was living at a resort. That being said, due to recent back surgery, once I was released from the hospital there was no question as to where I would go for rehab. The care I received was nothing short of five-star! Carolyn treats residents and staff as if they are family. From the administration to maintenance, all work together to provide a positive, healing environment. It is obvious that the nurses, the occupational and physical therapists have the necessary education to do their job and do it well. Even in the late night hours, whether I needed assistance with medicine, getting comfortable in bed, reaching the bathroom without an incident-- not a lot of time passed before someone answered the bell. That is not always the case with other institutions and we'll leave it at that. The doctors that made the rounds were attentive, they took the time to listen. When I first arrived they praised the staff and that also set my mind at ease. When it comes to "handing over mom," a decision not easily come by, without hesitation I would recommend North Hills HR.

My Sister is recovering here & has been "sooo" well taken care of. The homeyness of the building, with it's very efficient Administrator (Carolyn Hall) & her professional and caring Staff, is amazing. Dolores' recovery has been remarkable - - this facility doesn't resemble the stereotype o a rehab institution! I believe a loved one staying in N.H. Health & Rehab Center will receive the best possible treatment. The goal of Carolyn & Her Staff, is to help each resident reach their optimal recovery, so that they are able to return back into the world they call HOME!!

My father-in-law went to rehab here last week. His prior stint in rehab in Monroeville a few years before he referred to as being incarcerated. I asked him what he thought of North Hills Health & Rehab, and he thought they were great. This matched my opinion of them - the staff is terrific! They treated him with respect, and were very much on the ball as to treatment. I'm so glad that I found a rehab place that I can use in the future, if, heaven forbid, I need one.

My husband suffered a severe ankle fracture, and North Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center was there for us in our “hour of need!” We cannot say ENOUGH about the WONDERFUL care he received at this facility! He ended up being there for a month. Everyone was so kind, professional, encouraging and helpful! I could tell they sincerely cared about my husband and wanted to do everything in their power to help him get stronger and get back home! Shortly after my husband arrived there, the social worker came and introduced herself and talked with us. She really cared about what we were going through and she helped us put my husband’s injury in perspective- as she said, “THIS is fixable!” We think about that quite often- especially at challenging times. I personally witnessed the activities director visiting with a new patient, finding out information about what he liked to do, etc. so that she could provide some activities for him while he was staying at the center. The Center is large enough that they offer all the services you need, but small enough that they never lose that “personal touch.” My husband received great care from the nurses and aides- the occupational and physical therapists were wonderful- so kind and encouraging! My husband really looked forward to his sessions there! They even did a home visit with us to help us get ready for my husband to return home. They also worked to rig up special leg rests for my husband on his wheel chair so he could keep his leg extended- he has very long legs and a regular leg rest wasn’t long enough. Everyone was friendly and kind- the cleaning staff, the kitchen staff, all of the support staff- if we ever had a question about anything, you could ask anyone on staff, and if they didn’t know the answer, they would direct you to someone who did! Everyone works together to help things run smoothly- like a family! We know the spirit we saw at the Center flows from the Director, Carolyn. She is so energetic and fun! She loves her job and she loves the Center and trying to make it the best experience as possible for patients and staff. We would see her all over the place... helping wherever they needed an extra pair of hands! For one of my husband’s doctor appointments in the city they couldn’t arrange a transportation service, so she took him herself! When we had a “care team” meeting, I could tell everyone knew my husband, knew “his case,” wanted to do everything they could to help him transition back home with support, and offered us whatever services we needed after my husband’s surgery to get back home. We definitely felt like we weren’t getting “booted out the door,” and actually, after my husband’s second ankle surgery he went back to the center for a week to get ready to come home. Even when we left the facility yesterday to come home, we were assured that we could call 24 hours a day if we had any questions-and we actually DID call last night about a question with medication. The facility is clean and the rooms have big windows, which I love. There are inspirational sayings everywhere... they decorate for holidays.....there is a “nice feel there.” My husband felt the chef prepared very good meals and options are provided. I know my review is long, but I wanted to give anyone considering NHHRC plenty of first hand evidence of our experience there to assist them in making a decision about whether to go there. When we were at the hospital after my husband’s accident and the social worker gave us a list of rehab facilities, we chose NHHRC because it had a 5 star rating and it was close to home. After our experience, we can definitely add our own 5 star rating and our gratitude to everyone there for all of the help, encouragement, and kindness you have shown to us! Your care has made all the difference for us!

I stopped by North Hills Health and Rehab, I met with the administrator Carolyn - I was Very Impressed with how the residents were all enjoying activities, and Carolyn was interacting with each one of her residents! Everyone I met was very pleasant and the residents enjoy the homecooked meals & activities. The rooms were clean and I enjoyed that North Hills Health and Rehab felt like Home - I also Loved the sentiments on the walls - Everyone here was warm and Welcoming!

The staff was very thoughtful and kind. The therapists did a great job in instructing and motivating me for all I needed for the days ahead at home. They are warm and kind hearted. They had great compassion on my aches and pains and met my needs when I was hurting. They were fantastic! The room I was in had ample closet space and a nice window. The floors, however, could be mopped more often. There could be a little more consideration for privacy in the bathroom when shared with three other people. The nurses and aids were friendly and attentive to all my needs. I enjoyed the music group ‘side by side’ and monthly birthday celebration. They played songs we were all familiar with and everyone had a great time.

My Mother was a past resident of this facility and the care was excellent. She had broken her right femur and several ribs. The physical therapy was 6 days per week and appeared to be very thorough. The staff was very pleasant, helpful and very professional. Mom celebrated her 86th birthday while in the facility and the staff and other residents observed the day with a small party. I would definitely recommend this facility to friends and family.

My father was in the NH rehab facility for several weeks. The staff was very caring and responsive. The physical therapists and occupational therapists were extremely dedicated and helpful. He received both kinds of therapy every day. The nurses and nurse's aides were kind and attentive to my father's needs. The facility has a lovely sun room on the main level and an sitting room on the lower floor with large glass windows and an aquarium. The doctors on staff were kind and accessible. It was a very stressful time for my family, but we were glad we were sent to this facility. My father received excellent care.

The admins, nurses, CNAs and all of the staff at North Hills Health & Rehab are absolutely terrific. We are so thankful for the level of care they provided. I’m a nurse myself, and genuinely appreciated the kindness and care they provided my mother, Frieda. The staff was warm and caring and the facility was clean. We are so appreciative of the care we have received! My mother was also thrilled with the food, it was the most she has eaten in months!

This Rehabilitation and facility should receive 10 stars. While no place is perfect; this place is genuine and real. The people that work here are happy and friendly towards each other and they work so well together for the patient! The House Keeping, (super clean) Aides and RN and PA’s, and Doctors are wonderful. The OT and PT people are dedicated and come to happily rehabilitate your loved one. Everyone is transparent and fabulous. I was there all hours of the day and night for 6 weeks; this place does it right. Carolyn the Administrator looks like she’s a visitor; as she is seen every day, walking through out the place. She’s OT stuffy; just a great person with a genuine love for what she does!! She visits the patients and is so involved. It’s a place run well; by her! There was dancing, cheese and crackers dates, along with music dates. The place ‘looks’ a little aged inside- but don’t let that fool you, it’s just a well seasoned place contained with a lot of TLC- the stuff you want your family member to have! I HIGHLY recommend this place. Our family calls this place: THE SWINDERMAN HOME!!! A cute, quaint, loving and caring place (located on Swinderman Road) Wexford PA A Darling ‘house of hearts’❤️

Aides very rude. Staff sit around desk while call bells going off and ignoring them. An aide named Renee was extremely rough and became very smart with my mother after she asked if she could be little more gentle when bathing her. No one seemed to be washing their hands after patient care.

My father experienced a severe stroke and had a long road of ahead of him. The entire staff treated my father and my family with an immmense amount of care. They were very patient, thoughtful, and respectful throughout our time there. I felt that I developed sincere relationships with the entire staff and it was comforting to feel that I could trust them throughout the process. He has progressed nicely and graduated to the next step of his recovery/rehab and North Hills Health and Rehab made that possible.

My mom was at North Hills Health and Rehab healing for almost 7 weeks from a leg bypass and foot wound care. I positive experience here with the staff, nurses, aides, administrative, therapist and would highly recommend this facility for a loved one. The wound care is excellant here. The activities director did a great job for the residents. I have had experiences at other rehab facilities and they were not as pleasant. I always felt welcome in asking the staff questions. It was a very positive experience for my mom and all of the staff exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this facility.

I just can’t say enough about this place and the wonderful care they are providing for my Mother. Starting with the director, Carolyn H. and throughout the entire facility the staff is tremendous. They are all very engaged and more than willing to assist with any question or request. We have come to know a number of the staff members very well and truly appreciate their hard work, attention to individualized care and most importantly their kind and caring approach to taking care of their residents. Some of the staff that we see on a regular basis like Kiersten, Laura, Rosa, Renee, Leslie and Pam are always cheerful, kind and dedicated to caring for others- -they all really seem to care and not just treat their position as a job. Our family is very grateful that everyone there treats our Mom as though she was their own Mother. It really is a relief to know that she is in such good care where dignity, respect, compassion, understanding and love and kindness are the norm and practiced each day. Our Mom is now a full-time resident at this facility and just knowing that Mom is safe, comfortable and well cared for really has provided us with peace of mind. I would certainly recommend this facility to others in need of rehab or long-term skilled care.

Tremendous staff! Carolyn Hall and her team go out of their way to help your loved one heal. The nurses and the nurse assistants are amazing! Can’t say enough about the care our mother is receiving. To name a few Emily, Kiersten, Laura, Rosa, Renee and Leslie are angels. The social worker, the activities director, her staff, PT, OT and the business office have helped us along the way to ensure a smooth transition for mom. I absolutely recommend North Hills Health & Rehabilitation.

My father was in North Hills Health and Rehab for a month or so and after experiencing the whole nursing home world with my wife’s parents, I consider myself a good judge of a a good vs bad facility. This nursing home did a fantastic job with both rehab and nursing and despite my dad being a tough one, they seemed to always be able to handle him. we will definitely be recommending it to others in our same boat. No one wants their parent in a nursing home but this place is different and made a bad situation as good as it could be. The nursing staff was busy like any other nursing home but we still never felt not taken care of. The nurse in charge was great and we loved the rehab department. The rehab manager and social worker always kept me updated and were very nice. If needed we will definitely come back here in the future.

My family and I couldn’t be more pleased that we sent our mom here. We had heard great things about the therapy team from a family friend who had someone at North Hills for rehab and loved it. The therapists and therapy manager couldn’t have been sweeter and more caring. The therapy manager really is a special person and always had the perfect gentle and encouraging words for my mom, and also for us when we needed guidance. It was obvious that she is extremely dedicated to her position and to all of her patients being happy and feeling taken care of. The entire staff at North Hills Health and Rehab was wonderful and I appreciated the way everyone went above and beyond for us. Thank you to the nursing staff, administrator and social worker for getting Mom back to her facility.

I went to visit this facility looking for a place for my Mother in Law to call home after her Personal Care Home is no longer appropriate for her level of care needs. I was so impressed as soon as I was greeted at the door! I met with the Administrator who proceeded to give the house tour. Carolyn was very proud to show me the facility as she should be. Very clean, no offensive odors, staff smiling, residents smiling - all things this retired nurse was looking for. Since I have worked in the medical field for 28 yrs most of it being with the disabled and elderly, I do consider myself well qualified to judge. I would be very happy to be associated with NHH&RC.

My mother was at North Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center for a short time. My father commented how clean the center was and how well the nurses treated her. When I would visit, someone on the staff would always come by and see if we needed anything and they often brought a cart of snacks and beverages. They worked with us to contact my mother’s long term insurance company to arrange payments. When we had specific requests concerning my mother’s care they did their best to accommodate us. I know the nurses cared about my mother and kept her comfortable. I would recommend this center to anyone who would like a smaller facility where your loved one is treated with respect and dignity.

North Hills Health and Rehab is a homey, and bright skilled nursing facility. The sitting areas have lots of natural light and the rooms are clean and nice. The administrator and her staff are friendly and kind, and the smiles and warm welcome recieved when visiting this facility are refreshing. People are out of their rooms, they are playing cards, and board games, doing puzzles and knitting. This is a facility that is doing things right. The food is even a cut above, with a daily soup selcection and in house prepared foods. I visit many facilities in my profession, and this is one that I would recommend.

My father was in this wonderful home for 4 weeks. We have had experience with other nursing homes in the past (grandparents, mother). This was like a dream. The staff is so attentive. They are always there to help you. Any one that you ask will do whatever to make my father comfortable. We had access to the doctor. It seemed like he was always there and answered any of our questions. I cannot say enough about this facility. The best there is out there, I am sure!!!

My mother was at this facility for a little over a month for rehab after an injury. I can't express enough how happy we are that we decided to go with this little gem in Wexford that we didn't even know about. After receiving such great care and therapy, I hope to be able to make this place more known to others in the community. I had the chance to see quite a few of my Mom's therapy sessions and not only did the therapists provide a fun and uplifting environment but I was happy to see all of the creative things they had her doing which in turn motivated her and helped her get to where she needed to in order to come back home. The rehab manager was so sweet and professional and always gave me the time of day, even if it was 730 pm. I appreciated the open door and the sincere concern about OUR concerns about mom. The nursing staff and rest of the team were very busy but also always willing to answer any of my questions. I'm thankful to the administrator for making me feel comfortable and able to call whenever with any questions or concerns. She seems to always be there which shows her dedication to the building. If my mom ever needs rehab again, I know where I'll be sending her.

First of all, I would rather have my mom living at home. However, it was just unsafe for her anymore. From the moment we got there we knew it was a good decision. My mom was in a room for the first few days and the amazing decision was made to move my mom in with the "perfect" roommate! They know the right fit for people because they care that much. The entire staff was there to welcome my mom into their "family" right from the get go. There are amazing therapists, friendly aides, compassionate nurses, wonderful doctors that always keep me informed. My mom is kept busy with entertaining activities every day that she really enjoys. I visit frequently and they all know me by my first name! As soon as the nurses see me they bring me up to date with any ongoing issues my mom might be having. After all, there's always some issues but we try to get things taken care of as soon as possible. The director of the facility is always on site and hands on. They had a fantastic fourth of July fireworks display, a wonderful pig roast with a DJ playing fun music that the residents all enjoyed. My mom celebrated a recent birthday and everyone wished my mom happy birthday and was involved. My mom will be a long term care resident and I have feel so blessed that we joined the family at North Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center.

I was visiting my father while he was in therapy there. As we were sitting the gym the rehab manager came in and started bad mouthing an employee that worked for her in front of all the patients, family members and other workers. It was totally inappropriate and she used very inappropriate language. My father and I were completed embarrassed by the scene. The therapy was mediocre, and most of the patients were being ignored and told to do sitting arm or leg exercises. I would never had sent my dad here if I had known how bad it was going it be. If your looking for a good therapy place, don's sent them here. Rehab does not have a clue what they are doing because they are too busy gossiping or talking about other patients in front of other families or patients.

I'm so glad we found this place. We almost sent my mom to a much larger place but this ended up being just perfect, and I would send her there all over again. I feel like we really got to know the staff while we were there and my mom wasn't just a number. We saw the same faces and everyone knew my mom by her name and even details about her and always stopped to talk to her instead of just walking past. The therapists were wonderful--so very sweet and caring, and really knew their "stuff". Great quality therapy. I am thankful that the nurses were always able to answer my many questions. and seemed to actually care. The doctor was great, as well. I wish I had known about this place when my Dad was living.

I cannot say enough good things about North Hills Health & Rehabilitation. My aunt Anna was there for about 2 months. Throughout her stay she said that she thought they were giving her special treatment. Of course, this was not the case…it was just the exceptional standard care given at North Hills. The staff was wonderful. They interacted with her and exchanged stories more like they were old friends rather than caregiver and patient. After she left, my aunt said that she had the best time. Therapy was amazing. My aunt was “non-weight bearing” (in the words of the doctor) when she first arrived. Therapy had her up and walking ahead of schedule. And the food…it is made fresh daily. None of the prepackaged meals that so many others serve…including hospitals. With the hospitality and home cooking, I wanted to move in myself (okay not really). There is no other place I would even consider if I needed rehabilitation or skilled nursing care. I absolutely recommend North Hills Health & Rehabilitation.

My family and I couldn't be more satisfied with the care that our dad received here. The nursing staff was wonderful and always made sure to ask my dad if he needed anything else before they exited the room, and the therapists were all amazing. Each therapist was as great as the next one and were very attentive and always found the magic touch and ways to make my dad work, even on his not-so-motivated days. The head of therapy kept in constant communication with me and always let me interrupt her to ask about his progress. We thank them for helping us get Dad home. We appreciated the small team there from administration to social worker and how we could always meet as needed to discuss anything without much of a fuss. I will most certainly be recommending this facility to others in our community.

Worst place ever. Therapy is terrible.. Just after money and once you use up all your days they dump you. Therapist do sitting exercises while they are busy on their phones and gossiping and talking about other patients. The PT and OT are extremely rude and disrespectful to the patients. The facility has been sited numerous times by the department of health.. don't send your family members here

My Mom was in North Hills Health and Rehab for about 5 weeks recovering from a fall. After 2 weeks of rehab, we had her stay another few weeks and she moved to the long term floor. Every day she would tell me that everyone there treated her so well. The aides were terrific as were most of the nurses. And, the administrative staff was very on top of things and helpful throughout the process. I would recommend North Hills Rehab.

The facility itself could use interior cosmetic makeover. A fresh coat of paint, new cupboards for the "food area", definitely needed. As for the employees, as with any care facility, they definitely could use more help, for the amount of patients to aides, they need more hands. In saying that though, the employees they have are excellent! The nursing staff and aides are always approachable and try their best to give the highest quality of care to the patients and make family members feel very welcomed.

I was a recent patient here and I cant tell you how awful it was. First off, the patient's that are here long term are treated much better than the patients that are just there for therapy. I would ring for the call bell and no one would answer it for at least 20-20 minutes. I know this because I timed them my watch. The aides and nurses were disrespectful. When my daughter tried to bring this up to the administrator, she tried to make up all kinds of excuses and then tried to put the blame on me for not being patient enough. Really... 3o minutes of waiting to go to the bathroom. The room appears old and the curtains stained with god knows what is on them. I guess they don't know anything about infection control here, since I got sent back out to the hospital with MRSA, which they thought I caught there. When asked if I wanted to go back there for therapy, I said anywhere but there, even Manor Care is better than this place.

My great aunt has been living in North Hill Health and Rehab for the past 4 months. She is there on a permanent basis. It took a good month or two for her to settle in. There was a lot of "I want to go home's." Now all she talks about is how she loves the place and does not want to go home. "These people take wonderful care of me." " They treat me like I am special." "I have made lots of friends here and I love playing bingo and doing all the activities." Needless to say this has been very comforting to our family. It is so nice when you have found a nursing home that is the complete package. My Aunt has not been this healthy in years. She is getting her meds correctly. She is eating 3 good meals a day. She is getting exercise. Most important she is socializing with others. She is never in her room. We, the family, are extremely happy with North Hills Health and Rehab. If you are in need of a nursing home for a loved one. please check out North Hills Health and Rehab. You will be pleasantly surprised!!!!

I was a patient here and I would never go back here ever. The staff were extremely rude. We had to wait 30 minutes before anyone would answer the call bell. There was another patient they sat in the hallway and all she would do is scream at everyone all night long. I did not get any rest at all and could not wait to go home. The food was awful and they never followed the specific diabetic diet I was on. When I was discharged the equipment they promised would be at my home was not there. I would look out my window and see the social outside smoking a cigarette and talking on here phone. Apparently not doing her job of getting my equipment ordered. It was the worst experience I ever had and I would never go back

The hominess of the facility immediately brought a feeling of comfort to my mother and my family. The staff worked as a team to make her stay comfortable and productive. The director was always present and concerns were addressed promptly. I am grateful to the skilled, kind hearted nurses, PTs, social worker, aids, activity staff and even the cleaning personnel who kept the facility spotless. Mom is back in her home doing well thanks to NHHR. I would definitely recommend NHHR to others.

I was extremely impressed from the very beginning with North Hills, from the coziness of the facility, to the amazing nursing staff who actually care and show that they care, to the fabulous therapy staff, including the director who always takes the time to give me an update on my loved one's progress, to the therapists who were able to find the right way to motivate her (as it's not always easy!) and got her back to her normal self, walking and shopping! The building was always clean and always surprised me that there were no odors. The administrator cares more than your average person, and was always willing to lend a hand when needed, and the social worker answered my billion daily questions with a smile. What I love most about North Hills is the small size and "family feel". We didn't feel like just a number. I am so appreciative of the staff who went above and beyond, and would send my loved one there all over again, and will continue to highly recommend this lovely place to everyone in my community.

I would like to share my experience for this Rehab Center. My Mom came here a month ago from the hospital. She need all kinds of help to promote her routine life quality. As long as we step into this building, we felt it is just like at home. The administrator Carolyn H. welcome us warmly and kindly. She is so responsible to make sure everything is being taken care of.. My mom doesn't speak English. The social worker Elyssa learned to put the translation program into her I Phone. She taught every to use it in order to be able to communicate with my mom. Mom is very satisfied and happy to tell me that she likes here. People is so nice and friendly to her and take a good care of her needs. I have been dealing with all the staffs about my mom's needs. The physical therapy, aids, nurses, so on are very skilled trained and have the positive attitude and good heart to help all the residents here. They are also cooperative working together to serve the resident needs. I do feel the trust to put my mom in this Rehab. I would like to suggest everyone of you who has the need should consider it first for your staying. Especially I like to share that they are so willing to make the corrections should something happens. We are, all human being and not perfect, so the humble attitude is so important. You will find all you need in this Rehab. God bless you. Praise The Lord! By the way, I have a neighbor who was here before. They constantly told me they like this Rehab and had the wonderful experience here.

My father was there and it was awful, from the first step into the building. The place smells like urine. The floors are dirty and the trashcans where overflowing. There was not enough help and the nurses were too busy talking to assist. When we went to the administrator, she just smiled and gave us the round about. Would never recommend this place to anyone. It was pathetic the people in charge don't seem to care, all they want is your money and a bed filled. Sad

this place is a death sentence for anyone who comes here. If you care anything about your loved one do not send them here. The staff are no were and in and the nurses are too busy talking at the desk to take any interest in your concerns. The nurses just roll their eyes at you. Therapy is terrible, the boss came in to introduce herself and she acted as if we we beneath her. She was very snooty and no compassion or empathy at all. It was all about the bottom line. The rooms were filthy and unkempt. Dirty diapers in the trash can for days in the bathroom, dirty floors with stains all over them. When brought to the administrator attention, she just made some joke and tried to laugh it off. She gave us a coloring book, as if that would solve everything, while the floors continues to remain filthy as well as the room. The aides were rude and disrespectful., swearing multiple times. Please, please do not send your loves ones here unless you want them to die or suffer worse. Take it from a prior resident and family.

well let me start by saying that the people that work there are wonderful from the kitchen to social workers and everyone in between. I think the big problem they have there is the blame is always someone else or an other department or the other shift not the person who is at fault. a have seen things there and know what i say like pt department making up their own equitiment because they do not have what they need and try to make up for it but if they had more item they would need more room. just like the kitchen they need a lot more room for ovens and things then they could do real cooking and not just a lot of premade meal items i know they have a chief there that could cook up a storm and within different diets needs they have a social worker that goes way out to help she will fight to the end. there is a girl in housekeeping that is great she makes her own wonderful spray that she will spray and it is lite and makes the room smell nice along with making your room nice and clean then we come to the nurses they are very good well most of them they are right there with your meds but when you hit your button for help most of them think it is up to the aide to answer it well they sit and talk and they will say they are doing their charts and things when you can hear them talking and laughing well you are in pain or not getting your air because the hose has poped off or some other problem that you need a nurse for i guess there should be 2 buttons one for the nurse and the other one for the aide.but in all fairness there are a lot of times there are not enough nurse for a lot of the shifts most of all night shift come on 2 nurses for the whole building at night when there is a death god forbid then you just have one running both floors. then there are the great backbone of any place like this the nurses aides the get all the dirty work their buns run off and have to track things down be a sounding board not to say about them getting hit or things thown at them or spat on they still come in and smile as they clean the person up whatever it may be top or bottom ha ha. but they are so over worked they work i would say like 3 shifts in one they need to hire more aides and not cut the hours but have more per shifts. in other words look out for the workers and not so much for the money until you get it straighten up then you will have happier workers and happier residents

My father stayed in the skilled nursing unit for several months. I thought the outside of the facility was very welcoming. Had a "homey" type of feel. However, when you go inside the building it felt very hospital like. The rooms and the bathrooms did not always appear to be clean. Also, during my father's stay he contracted scabies from another resident AND cdiff. He had stayed at other local facilities before and never contracted anything. So not sure why this happened here. The PT department had very knowledgeable staff, however, they lacked equipment. Did not even have a recumbent bike. I brought this up to the administration and they acknowledged this issue and said that their "PT staff does the best they can with the equipment they have". This is most certainly NOT a place to send someone that has an existing condition that requires intense PT. The PT room is also VERY small. I would highly suggest you go and tour the PT area before sending a loved one there so that you get a clear understanding of the PT that will be provided (this was my mistake). One big positive, is that the staff was very kind throughout my father's stay. They were very helpful and were quick to respond to my questions/needs. The staff would even sit daily with my father to help him eat (this is a big deal since I have found at other facilities they did NOT do this). I did notice though that sometimes it seemed like they were too short staffed to take care of the needs of all residents in a timely manner (e.g., bathroom assistance, dressing --- sometimes I would go there in the afternoon & my father would still be in a hospital gown!). So, in summary, take a tour --- and this should be a rule of thumb before using the services at any facility..

I've got my mom into North Hills. It is a small facility, and the care is very personal. It is located just north of the city in Wexford, PA, so scenic-wise it is very pretty. There are woods around there, and the grounds are very nice. Like I said, the care is very personalized. They do a lot of activities with them. During the warm days, they would take them outside and do activities with them. They take care of all of her needs. Even the physicians that she sees or different specialists make arrangements for her and provide transportation, so it is very comprehensive. They really take care of everything, and we are very pleased.
