Two years ago, my stepfather had cancer and was placed in this facility where he spent the last two weeks of his life. It's a shame that someone who served our country in Vietnam had to spend what precious time he had left at this facility. Nursing staff is overworked and they completely ignored my stepdad's cries and his roommate when they were desperately trying to flag the staff down to get their pain medications. I even had to reposition my stepfather in his bed because noone would help. The way they spoke to my stepdad because he simply needed his pain medication was just uncalled for. This place truly IS a nightmare. Nursing Staff is rude and dismissive. The whole situation still brings me sadness and tears two years later and I will NEVER get over it. I don't understand how this is legal. People should be treated with dignity at the end of their life. What I witnessed at this facility is far from it.

My relative past away about a month and a half ago from Weatherwood, we felt this would be a good facility, because of our experience when it was run by Carbon County. Well what an eye opener. The nursing staff wasn't bad as long as the full time aides were there, but as soon as they were off and the part-time help filled in what a disaster. As for the housekeeping staff for get it, if your relatives room dusted you will have to do it yourself or the dust get so thick, maybe, maybe the floor got mopped once a week and when it did everything on the floor was pushed under the bed. The bathroom maybe was cleaned every two weeks if that. The food was terrible, not only the quality of it but the presentation (everything was just thrown together on the plate. I complained all the time but was told nothing could be done, the Corporate Office made up the menu and ordered the food, well they prepared it why couldn't they at least make it look good. I wanted to get my relative out of there but everywhere I called there was a waiting list. If you really love your loved one you should think twice about placing them here. As for my personal experience using the public bathroom, they were always dirty and even bugs crawling on the floor. The State was in several times to inspect and there was always violations. Check the States website for their findings.

I found the Physical Therapy department is 100% professorial and competent. The nursing facility get a big fat zero, They are happy to let your loved one sit in there own waste for hours on end then complain they are over work but yet they find time for their breaks leaving only one staff in a whole area. When I confronted them they stood united and taunted me to report them all cause nothing would happen to them and of course that is the case the management claims they reprimand staff but thing only get worse. I will be making every effort to have my friend transferred to a different facility and not one run by Guardian.

Weatherwood was known as the best facility in the area. That was the case until Guardian Edler Care took over. Staff has been cut, residents spend too much time alone. Their mental status deteriorates steadily.
