My brother has moved into Hillside Manor Personal Care Home. So far, so good. I have no complaints so far. The staff is very nice, very helpful, and very knowledgeable. The rooms are very nice. They have different types. They have a room for one and two people, and they have the suites, which are a little bigger. My brother has no complaints about the food. They have different activities every day. The atmosphere is good. I haven't had any problems with the staff.

From my first contact with the Hillside staff, when I was gathering information about facilities, I felt cared for and at ease. My questions & concerns were addressed in an empathetic way, and my calls were returned. My experience occurred during the COVID crisis, and the staff made every effort to maintain visiting in some fashion... from visits on the patio, to window visits when it got cold outside, then eventually indoor visits in the common area. They really did everything to keep their residents (my mom) safe. During the window visits (which were difficult for my 89 year old mom with cognitive issues), a staff member would stay with her, helping to facilitate the conversation and making it more meaningful for my mom.... it made a difference for which I was grateful. My mom was well cared for... she was always dressed in clean matching outfits, shoes or slippers on, her hair was neat, and her nails were clipped. She gained some needed weight there! During visiting with mom, a staff member or 2 would join us for a story or to give my mom some love, I would well-up with gratitude! In addition to her physical & emotional well-being, they were on top of her medical conditions. Being a fall risk, they took every step possible to reduce her falls, even having her wear a small monitor to alert them of her movements. They always kept me well informed. Although I never got to see her room, due to COVID, the atmosphere I did see was pleasant, clean, and calm. Making the decision to move a loved one to a facility is never an easy one, but the staff at Hillside Manor (Oliver Rd) made the transition easier & less frightening, and I will always be grateful for the genuine care they gave to my mom, and the peace of mind they gave to those that love her.

I am sure there are some caring staff members at this facility. However, it lacks the organization and attention to detail that one would expect from a personal care home. As someone who is a manager and creates schedules, I found it to be less than satisfactory in the areas of follow through, consistency and informing staff members. I would not recommend this facility.

My grandmother was placed in the Memory Care unit for 6 months. Staff was uncaring and unresponsive to residents. Food trays were placed on the table, but staff didn't assist elderly dementia patients with any assistance. My gram lost 50 lbs there. Patients were going outside, alarms ringing and staff didn't respond. 65 yr old Amy M. walked outdoors and was struck and killed by a vehicle at 6:30 am. Facility is cheap...you get what you pay for. Horrible place.

My mother stayed here for approximately one year. At first the care was to an acceptable level and things seem to be ok. However after six months this quickly deteriorated and the response of the staff became unacceptable. After she was found several times lying in her own urine and fecces we took the decision to move her. The worst pat is the owner who just doesn’t care and is only interested in hos money. Eight months after moving her and after she had passed away he came back with a demand for payment as we had not given the required notice period. Absolutely sickening behaviour. I would not recommend this facility to anyone who wants to see their loved ones looked after

The people at Hillside Manor are very nice, and my parents are well taken care of. It's completely different from where they were, and it's excellent. They just had a beautiful Christmas party with food laid out for all of them and games. They have church all the time. The place is spotless, and my dad's and stepmother's room is well maintained and clean. The staff does their job but not as good as we want. They're fair and get by. They described everything to the T to me when I moved my parents in there, went every individual paperwork, and didn't pull any punches.

The staff was nice and welcoming. The room was a private room with a bath and a microwave. The dining room is nice and spacious. They have bingo and church but their organization must be improved. The nurses are caring and the place is secured.
