I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was at Oak Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Per department, they did their jobs very well, but the coordination between departments was absolutely horrendous. Nursing would let PT know what was happening; PT never communicated back. The facility itself, they did their best. They gave my mother her care. The care, the nursing, and the people that did the PT were phenomenal. Their rehab was phenomenal. The social worker's communication was terrible, though. The social worker director failed to communicate with all departments. It happened that my mother was being discharged on a Friday, and I went up to the head nurse and said, "I don't know what the procedure is. The social service was supposed to get back to me and they didn't. What time is it going to be? Because I have to coordinate this with where she's going back and make sure PT is available," and she had no idea my mother was being released. They should have been central. Like on her record, every department should be able to look at it and say, "Hey, she's getting this, this and this. She had rehab and this is what was done," but I never knew what they were doing in rehab. I would call and ask about it and nursing would try to look at something and say they don't have access to it and say, "I'm sorry. I can't tell you what they did for her." I would call the rehab department and get the voice message, but they weren't getting back to me. As far as the food and everything, the food was OK. Sometimes it was really good. Sometimes it was OK. The services, the attention that they gave my mother was wonderful, but if she ever had to have rehab again, I don't know if I'd go back there, because I don't know if I want to go through that hassle again. The nursing staff was fantastic. They loved my mom on a personal basis. They were wonderful people. The nurse that would take care of her was unbelievable. My mother's room was clean. It's like how I would keep it clean. I had no qualms about it. My mother was on the first floor, so all I had access to was her room, but since COVID, they closed down the dining room. The residents had to eat all their meals in their room by themselves, and when they had an activity we were not allowed to attend. My sister works full time and her only time to see my mother is in the evening. She usually would get there around 7:00. She went with her that one night and she got the bad luck from the gentleman that was doing the activity at night. The next time she went back, there was a note on the door that it was closed, nobody allowed in, only residents. So that, to me, is not good when you've got somebody there in rehab, especially an older person. They had a lot of activities. My mother loved it. They had wonderful activities. They had them at 2:00, 4:00, 7:00, and the fact that she was confined to a wheelchair, they would come and take her. That was fantastic. She was thrilled because my mother's a social butterfly at age 97, but I just don't know why they wouldn't let you in the activities room with them.

My husband was sent there for rehab after being discharged from the hospital, wonderful care and terrific care from the staff. I would recommend this facility to anyone who needs extra care.

Great place. The staff is so nice and most of them have been there for many many years... that says a lot. The care is amazing and the rehab team goes above and beyond. I would highly recommend.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My mother stayed here for six months. She had a lot of complicated medications, like IVs, and had to go to many appointments. She got good care here, they kept all her care straight and were very nice and professional, did a very good job. She got therapy every day to learn how to do more for herself, and even got her hair done at the in house salon. She liked bingo and movies, and her roommate was friendly. The food was good. It was clean. We would come here again.

I am a past client of this provider

My mom stayed at Riverside for about 2 months and a half for leg rehab. There were 2 people per room. The staff was very friendly and nice. They answered my questions.

The facility has recently had some cosmetic work. It feels more welcoming even though the day rooms are still outdated. Patient rooms are clean but very plain sometime you feel like your in the hospital. The staff are always friendly even though there seems to be a lot coming any going. The rehabilitate area can use an upgrade but it serves its purpose. The food seems decent and is always warm. Sometimes you need to call back to get follow up information because if not. You don't always know the outcome of your loved ones test or appointment. All in all it is a decent place.

Some of the nurses were nice. They did not care for the patients properly or accomodate their needs. The rooms were not very big and most were shared with another patient and there was not alot of privacy. I feel the facility could of had more competent employees. Overall I was very disappointed in their service.
