Pleaant Valley Manor is an older facility so is in need of some repair. However they keep it very clean and are well staffed. Staff was excellent and take very good care of the residents

I was put in the Pleasant Valley Manor and when my insurance ran out, they insisted I had to leave, and I didn't like the place. There were nice people there and all, but the food was atrocious. They didn't allow you to do a lot of things on your own. They wanted somebody to go with you to the bathroom and things like that, but they did give you therapy, and the therapists were very nice. I was in a four-person room. They kept watching everyone, they had alarms on the doors, and for people that wander, they'd get somebody to stay with them.

My experience with the Pleasant Valley Manor was as a volunteer, and while visiting the facility, I assisted staff mostly in the activities and recreational department. While volunteering, I was able to explore the facilities (although I became more familiar with some departments than with others), and I also observed the behavior of the staff members that I met.The Pleasant Valley Manor was (and very well, may still be) an adequate assisted living provider. The facilities seemed clean, although not immaculately so, and the atmosphere of the facility appeared more homely, rather than cold and sterile. There seemed to be quite a number of amenities available, but some of the amenities were of lackluster quality. Most of the staff members that I encountered were friendly and approachable, but I also frequently noticed signs of "burnout" in employees, which may be due to several issues (one issue that I noticed was that many of the employees were simply overworked). Overall, the 'environment' of Pleasant Valley Manor was not overtly welcoming, stimulating, or visually-appealing. The facilities, however, seemed to be operating at a moderately successful pace.
