I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

This place has gone down hill in a matter of a few years. They are absolutely horrible. It smells horribly. Like old pee. The floors are atrocious. My mils wheelchair had food caked on it and under the mat. Looks like it's been there for weeks. Trash placed inside her clothing drawer. Toilet had pee all over it. Dried on pee non the less. The cleanliness of this place is disgusting. Maybe a visit from the health department should be in order. She waited over a half hour to be taken out of her bed to use the restroom. Along with her roommate. I'm disgusted with the level of care and cleanliness they don't even deserve one star.

I am/was a resident of this facility

Was in rehab for a broken leg. This was my third facilty. 2 others were horrible. This was the best! PT/OT/Speech were awesome! So very glad I went there. They are my heroes!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I went to visit my mother in 2019 and she was sleeping next to a portable commode that was full of feces. The smell was awful. I did go to a nurse supervisor who immediately had it emptied. But how long had my mother been in this situation and had it happened before? And will it happen again. I reported it to the state dept of health, nursing home division. They did investigate but told me they could not accept the photo that I documented with my IPhone. They had to witness it. The are over 400 nursing homes in PA and only a few inspectors. Families have to be their eyes and ears. My mother is 100, demented, blind, and deaf, and in continent. And this is how nursing homes can treat them?

I was so impressed with Mountain View; this place is outstanding so far. There’s only 12 rooms in the area that my mom needs to be in. The food is wonderful. It’s such a good decision. I cried for a month thinking about this, and every time I go see her I feel better and better. I know I made the right decision. This is a good fit for us. It’s clean, they have activities, they do memory games, they toss balls around, and they also take them out of the unit. My mother would not get bored. The food is outstanding; they have a choice. It’s restaurant quality food. It’s very good.

Communication with involved family members is poor and the family is lied to.!! I had asked for blood work results on Friday and they said it was never drawn. If so, why were there results in my Geisinger online records?

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Mom is in Mountain View Care Center. She went there after being ill and for rehab and has improved very much. She gets her physical therapy, speech therapy, and everything else she needs. They have all kinds of games and activities; she goes to bingo. They also have cats that live in the facility, and she is absolutely thrilled with that. They have a little zoo across the property with some goats and ducks, so they can go out and visit them. They gave her a bird feeder for outside her window which gives her a little bit of activity and some interest of her own which is good. She loves the food there; it’s very good. They take excellent care of her. It’s a very secure place, very friendly, and very helpful for families as well as for the patients.

I visited this facility

I visited Mountain View. I didn't care for it, because the lady that interviewed me told me that they put the residents on medications or some kind of tranquilizers and that turned me right off. I asked why would you put my mother on anti-depressants, and she said, "Well, she has to be depressed. Her whole life has changed." Well, I got the heck out of there. The facility itself was nice, and you could tell the people were nice, but that really upset me.

My mother is in Mountain View Nursing Home. It is very nice. I would highly recommend that place. They have everything that you would want for your loved ones. Food is good. They do have private rooms but most of them are shared rooms. Regarding their care, if they feel like my mom needs some physical therapy, they will give it to her. If she is sick, they will attend to her very well medically. They would give her antibiotics, put her in on an inhaler, etc. Within 72 hours, she bounced right back. I really think that the care and the cleanliness of this place is excellent. I can't recommend that place enough.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Mom fell and broke her femur. She is in Mountain View Care right now. She's in total care there because she needs help with everything. They're very good to her. They have tons of activities and they have a really good program there. When you walk in the place, it's very nice and very welcoming. But to be honest, I think they could clean a little bit better than they do. I think they're understaffed, too.

This nursing home is most adequitely staffed with the most pleasant and knowledgeable personel. Everyone is caring and cheerful. The dining room is beautifilly decorated with a waterfall and plants and fish. It is so elegant. The food is delicious and quite a variety of foods to pick from. There are plenty of activities. The guests are taken on excursions. There is entertainment on the weekends. Outdoors there is a path leading to a fishpond and goats and ducks. Every resident has a birthday party. It is the nursing home I want to be in if and when the time comes.
