Jewish Home of Eastern PA was a very beautiful place. There was no odor. The walls had colors. It's homey and had wooden floors. I only saw the dementia unit. The administrator who showed me around was very kind and answered all my questions. They just didn't have any availability. The staff was extremely friendly. Meals were included. They had an activities room and there were some people coloring. It seemed very pleasant.

My mother was at Jewish Home for a month for rehab. It was excellent, the food was delicious, and I can't say anything bad about it. It was well maintained, it was a very nice place, very spacious, and it didn't smell.

My grandfather (who suffered from Alzheimer's disease) lived her for the final few years of his life. My family was so thankful for the quality care he received here. The staff (especially the medical staff) were very communicative with us, and always went out of there way to indulge his little quirks and make him as comfortable as possible. I know how difficult it is to entrust the care of your loved one (especially a vulnerable loved one) to someone else, but rest assured that this is a center with their residents' best interests at heart. The facility was always spotlessly clean, and in my many, many visits I only ever saw, heard, and experienced good things. When speaking with other families and residents, there was always one gripe or another, but never anything major. Grandpa did often complain that the food was too repetitive and bland, but he did enjoy the ice cream cakes his nurse treated him to each birthday. Little personal touches and attention to detail made all the difference in the world to him (for his engagement) and to us (for our piece of mind).
