I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm in Baldwin Health Center. I like the people. I've been here for three years, so I've made some good friends. And I've made close friends with some of the actual nurses and aides. They're pretty personable here. Regarding staffing, you have one or two that aren't worth the money they're paid, but most of them are very nice. They serve three meals a day, but the food could use some work. They have all kinds of activities. Like this morning at 10, they have a coffee service in the community room. At 2:00, they're doing crafts. At 3:00, they're having a soup social. Most days they have at least one or two activities. They have bingo. They have something called the Sunshine Boys that come in and entertain.

Did a recent tour of the facility while enjoying an event held there It was not a schedule tour. The facility was warm and welcoming. I live in an independent senior hi-rise at the moment. I would recommend going to Baldwin Health Center.

This place is horrible. My stepdad wasn’t even there 24 hours for what was suppose to be rehab for a stroke when this place let him fall and he broke his femur!! He now has to have surgery and will require additional months of recovery on top of recovering from a stroke. This is beyond unacceptable and total negligence on all of the staff there. This place needs shut down by the state. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!!

Rooms are nasty. Food on the flood the house keepers DONT DO PROPER CLEANING. Patients are being cleaned correctly to the point gnats are all over the patients due to soiled and dirty gowns they are kept on bed written residents. The LPN don’t give the residents medicine they just it in on they’re beside and leave it there. There’s not enough staff working in the building. Staff is over worked which causes poor care to patients.

Worst place ever. Terrible food, nurses were rude and ignorant, they couldn't care less about the patients. No activities. No amenities. On top of all that, they don't know how to bill insurance and now they are billing me . I am in debt up to my eyeballs thanks to this awful place. I am still fighting with my insurance company over the bill for 30,000 US dollars. Staying here wasn't worth 2 cents.

I was notified that mom was being taken to the hospital to be treated for a urinary tract infection. When I went to the hospital to see her I was told by the hospital that she wouldn't be accepted back to Baldwin Health Center. I wish they would have told me that when they called telling me that she was being taken to the hospital so I could have made other arrangements for her care. Fortunately we were able to find another facility that would take her and she was treated with kindness and compassion. I would NEVER recommend Baldwin Health Center to anyone needing long term care.

The rooms were clean and neat. The staff was friendly and always eager to help. The therapy department is the best. Didn't do the activities. Was there for therapy.

If I could of given this place negative stars I would have. the staff is rude and they dont care about the patients. my aunt is a resident there and they only change her once day if that. i call and just get the run around and everyone is always in a meeting. No one returns my calls. I wouldn't put my dog or worst enemy in here. My aunt has been sitting in the same brief since 530 am. Gross.. Staff is horrible

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. My loved one was there 10 months and fell 12 times!! No one could explain the falls only empty promises and rehearsed "I'm Sorry". The Administrator, the Director of Nursing and all the staff were negligent in my loved one's care. Thankfully he was moved to a different facility and FAR AWAY from the incompetence and IGNORANCE of everyone at this facility. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS FACILITY'S CARE!!!

My mother was a resident for about 1 year. It appears that the facility is understaffed. The housekeeping is very poor. If a short term patient, the care is better but I cannot say the care is the same for long term patients. The food is adequate and they try hard with activities. The rooms are large compared to other nursing homes but again the housekeeping is poor. The bathrooms are not cleaned properly. The aides are friendly but get their work done and spend too much time on their phones. There are some very good nurses but for the long term night nurses are good at passing out meds and do not watch the patient taking their meds. Found a lot of pills on the floor and it was not a big deal to them. In my opinion the morale is poor and there is no communication between shifts. There is a great “Not My Job” attitude. The only plus is that the facility wii accept Medicaid if needed Think twice before admitting your loved one here and keep your own record of everything pertaining to their care.

Baldwin Health Center is clean. The people seemed to be caring. My mom's room looked like a hospital room. The staff takes great care of my mom.

I visited this facility

my wife of 83 years has been there once in the past and presently there for at least 8 weeks, I have visited her often when she is there and have found that the nurses and other personnel there to be caring and professional there is always someone within calling distance away and are extremely helpful to her . I would rate the service and caring at around Aplus and my thanx for the caring while I am home., LeRoy smith for my wife Geraldine S

I am an employee

Frightening is one of the first words that comes to mind. I worked here as a nurse for a short time. I viewed nurses skipping patients medications, not completing wound care and not notifying the physicians when only the physicians could change orders. There is no training for LPNs that are just out of school. The nursing director puts us right to work by ourselves knowing we don't know how to complete a lot of the direct patient care required. Yet expects us to just figure it out. If you care about your loved one DO NOT PLACE THEM HERE!!!

I am very happy that my mother is at Baldwin Health Center. It is nearby, so I can go anytime. My mother is happy and aware of the good care that she is getting. I have not found anyone who is unpleasant or not nice. We are very happy.

This was a horrible facility! First -- when you take the initial tour -- they will show you the A Wing. This wing has friendly staff, is very clean and is served their meals first. All seems great -- the staff answers patients call bells fairly quickly, etc. But if your loved one is put in one of the other wings. The other wings are not regularly cleaned, the staff is never around and the meals could take up to two hours to be delivered. Also, for my Dad, they forgot to serve him a couple of his meals. I found a patient had fallen out of his bed, told two nurses, and watched as they both completely ignored the patient's distress calls. Eventually, they came to help him and then chastised him for falling down. Unsurprisly, they wanted to keep my Dad for rehab until his Medicare ran out -- exactly 30 days. We said "No, we'll pick him up tomorrow.". When we got there, they had not started his discharge, made an error in one of his prescriptions and made us wait for an hour and a half. I wouldn't put a dog this facility.

Mom has been at Baldwin Health Center for a little over a month now. The facility is very clean. They just remodeled the facility. The dining area is very nice, and it's all totally remodeled. They have dining room downstairs where you could eat. The staff are very caring and nice. They are also very responsible.

We were thrilled with Baldwin, and it was excellent. Cleanliness and maintenance was excellent. They were very good in encouraging my sister to continue with her therapy. Everyone was very good and very nice to us. They always have time to stop, talk to us, and answer any question we have. She really turned around in the facility. My sister never complained about the food. She has a semi-private room. She played Bingo although she doesn’t do that usually.
