My step father stayed at this facility and all seemed well until one day at 4am I received a call from my mother crying saying that my stepdad had died. I called the facility only to find they never accurately checked for a pulse. It was a super stressful day and we made funeral arrangements etc. All we received was a sorry that did not seem genuine. We removed our loved one from this home and never looked back at this place that made us feel unhuman.

My sister is at McCallum LLC. It is near our home. The room is fine. My sister likes it too. She has her own bathroom. So far, since she has been there, she has been in the room by herself, but there is a room for one other person. I absolutely recommend this facility. It is a nice community. It is quiet. My sister likes it.

My first impressions were that McCallum Assisted Life was dingy and the people seemed lethargic. I did see two rooms there and they were below average. I wouldn't be comfortable staying there or having my mom stay there either. The room seems small and cramped. The furniture seems old and outdated. There was just not much attention to the décor at all. The person at the front desk was friendly. She smiled and greeted me and then I took a tour with the owner -- he was very personable. He seemed to really be proud of the facility, but I thought they had a lot of work to do. I saw the arts and crafts teacher with a small group of people doing a class. They had an activity calendar posted on the wall. They had a lot of veterans there. If someone is a veteran and they wanted to have other veterans as a peer group there, that would be a good place for them. I didn't see a lot of really warm interaction there. It didn't seem like there was any kind of organized thing going on except for the art class with about four people in it downstairs -- everybody else was just watching television.
