I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother is in Havencrest Nursing Center. It's close to home because we live out in Monongahela. Everything has been great. The staff is very good and very helpful. They have a meeting room, and luncheon room, they have parties, and they have an outdoor courtyard. It's near a hospital, but nothing else close because it's rural. Her room is small. They have two people in a room, so it's very tight. The place is well-kept.

I am/was a resident of this facility

The worst place I've ever been to. I was there for rehab my legs were weak and I was falling. The place was filfy dirty. They had the state called on them while I was there. Food was garbage. I really mean garbage. Breakfast was at 8-830am. Lunch at 11:30am then dinner around 7pm. Food was horrific. Powered eggs seasoned with only the lord knows. Bearly cooked meats with cheap canned vegetables. Staff has attitudes and would only give you a foam cup of ice for their 12 hour shift or make you wait long periods of time. I was unable to find a place to go that was open. Please don't send your lived ones there. I was a registered nurse for 37 years and worked many places but this place is again horrific. I was there 12 days and no bed change. No help with a shower. Nothing. No activities. Nothing. Not allowed to leave your room.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My sister was sent there from Mon Valley Hospital after major surgery. I found the facility to be lacking in many things, most importantly, enough staff to handle the patients there. One RN is just not enough. I also felt that the staff did not listen to her needs. She was a very complicated patient with a cholostomy as well as oxygen 24/7 yet the staff took at least 20 minutes, if not more, to answer her call. When I asked that she be sent to the ER I encountered resistance from the staff until I threatened to call someone else and she was then sent back to the ER and never returned to havencrest. It was May through June and the air conditioning did not work. I was told it was being looked at but I was also told it had not been working for months. The rooms do not have private phones, so unable to speak with patient unless cell phone is used. Whoever answered the phone always had the same response: SHE IS JUST FINE......I found the rooms to be dirty as well and bathrooms not cleaned effectively. If at all possible, please do not send your family to this facility. You will be very disappointed in their care.

I visited this facility

We visited Havencrest Nursing Center. Most of the staff members seemed nice. The location was not too bad. I didn't get to see the whole thing, all I saw was the parking lot. The rooms were very small for two people. The facility was pretty clean. There were people cleaning. They were playing Bingo when I was there. There was a chart with a calendar that showed they play games on different days. They also provide transportation.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife's uncle is in Havencrest Nursing Center now. It's more of a skilled nursing facility. The staff is caring, and he's kept clean well. He's terminal and bedridden right now, so he's really not involved in any activities. Every time we see him, he's clean, shaved, and bathed. The room is clean. The facility is clean. The staff is extremely compassionate, especially their social services, which is extremely helpful in assisting the family. They have a nice activity room where they have bingo and card games, which we witnessed when we were there, and therapy.

I visited this facility

A member of our family was there after surgery and all I can tell you is they do not follow proper procedures and it is a very dirty facility. The staff is more worried about gossip and smoke breaks than they are the patients in their care. Truly disappointed on how it is run or the lack there of. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

I had back surgery and had to go to this place for therapy the staff was very nice, and it is very run down my room almost caught on fire at 1am in the morning had to evacuate the heater was faullty. The food I got was cold not enough to feed the birds with. You can't get no rest theere always noisy and they wake you up all through the night plus the light in the hallway is to bright I could not wait till I was released from that place I will never go back there again.

I visited this facility

Haven Crest in Monongahela, PA gets four out of five stars from me! My grandfather was alone and always a pretty independent guy, but eventually he needed to give up his house and get some 24 hour help. He didn't want to live with us, instead preferring to go to a nursing home where he could be looked after by professionals. Fortunately, the place is only about ten minutes away from us, so we were able to come by as many times as we wanted. And overall, the people in my family were pleased with Haven Crest. I would say that this facility is pretty good. The staff has always been friendly and upbeat with me and my family when we would visit, and they were also very nice to my grandfather during his stay here. The place itself was a bit rundown, but just small cosmetic things like needing a new lick of paint here and there. Even so, the facility was quite clean and the folks who lived there all seemed to be happy and well taken care of.
