My mom and stepfather moved into Harmony at West Shore. My mom is in memory care. It's wonderful as far as memory care goes, it's very nice. The staff is what makes it wonderful. They're very friendly; outgoing. They watch closely to make sure that there aren't any issues. The place is very, very clean, and the food is wonderful. My sister has eaten there several times and I've seen the food. It looks delicious and everybody's inhaling it like it must be good. She's looking forward to this weekend. They have a garden where the memory care is actually allowed to go outside. It is a fenced-in area with bird feeders and benches. They have an above-ground area like waist length flower gardens where they can plant flowers. And so, this coming Sunday, we're going to be there with Mom planting some flowers. They have some activities like that. It's just fun and there's puzzles and games, they have a live-in rabbit that stays there, they have pets that come and go. On the day after my stepfather died, they brought two different therapy dogs into my mom 'cause she loves dogs. They also take care of their hair, not only to to schedule for the beauty salon, but they have volunteers that will come in and help, so they're very good.

I toured Harmony at West Shore. They were very polite and accurate. I mean, they did a tour as I expected, to show me everything, asked me if I had questions, and they were very helpful. Lori was very accommodating and very nice. I didn't see any refrigerator in the private room. I saw that in their dining room. They have a dining room so they all come out and eat together.

Harmony at West Shore is absolutely gorgeous. The amenities are just out of this world. I like the fact that the apartment that I saw had a sunroom, and it was gorgeous. The counter space was wonderful. The views are nice. The residents seemed nice, too. Your rent covers everything. You would not pay any amenities except your cable, and then you could get one meal a day. They also have snacks, a drink bar, and all kinds of stuff. They have so many amenities that I didn't even realize happened there, and you can pick whatever meal a day you want. It's just beautiful. The rooms are gorgeous and the dining room is immaculate. Everything is so clean and fresh. I just can't afford it. Stephanie was very knowledgeable and very polite. She understood my circumstances. She took down all the information, and she knows that if I sell my house I'll keep in touch with her. Maybe something will come up that I will maybe eventually get there. She was fabulous. She knew what she was talking about and we greeted a resident in the hallway who was very friendly.

We went to Harmony at West Shore for my grandfather. It was a nice place. The staff seemed nice. The residents didn't seem miserable living there, and the place was very, very clean. They have very large rooms. The atmosphere is positive, warm, and inviting.

I toured Harmony at West Shore. It was a very nice facility. They showed us an apartment that was recently vacated. So, they're still working on it, but it was enough for us to get kind of the lay of the land. The hallways and everything were very nice and very clean. The staff was amazing. It was one of the best staffing encounters I think I've had, really nice and personal. One of the guys was even right there to assess my dad, and pretty much went through and was like you're minimal care. Like he flat out was able to do that without any issues. Very family-oriented was the feeling that I got out of it.

I toured the memory area and was happy to see the activities going on were engaging to those with dementia. The area smelled great. The residents looked well kept and happy. We had lunch and the food was exceptional. I am happy to say my mother will be moving in. Kara the director was very helpful in answering our questions and was very knowledgeable about the dementia process.

I went to Harmony at West Shore, and they were very kind there. It looked like a very nice facility. They showed me the rooms, a workout facility, a movie theater, and the dining quarters. Everything looked great. People were working out, and they were doing an exercise class.

The facility is dirty. Only certain residents are included in activities. Proper care is not given. Questions are not answered. Billing department does not do their job. I would recommend you NOT place your loved one at Harmony. They complain that my mom does not cooperate. She has dementia so I'm not sure what they expect.

Harmony at West Shore was very nice. It's nice that they have all the doctors come in, pretty much so that the resident doesn't have to keep being transported to all the doctor's appointments. The person that took me around was very matter-of-fact. She needed to have a little more compassion and empathy. The people at the other places I went to were so caring and very empathetic. I looked at the dining area for assisted living and it looked wonderful. I have no qualms about that. The person that tours with you has to be a little more caring and not so clinical. Every person that's coming in there is different, and they have different circumstances and they just need to consider that a little more.

I will be moving into Harmony at West Shore. The people I've met so far have been great, and the staff who assisted me was very nice. What I like best about it are the apartments. They are really beautiful. They offer numerous activities and most of them are the ones that I like. They have senior yoga, card games, and activity trips. The atmosphere of the place is very friendly. The dining area is really nice and very easy to access.

If you care at all about your loved one, PLEASE do not move them into their memory unit. Deplorable care. No dignity or respect for the elderly here.

Harmony at West Shore was a phenomenal location. It looked more like a hotel than it did. Everything was very nicely decorated and very comfortable. They had beautiful libraries, a beautiful meeting area, and many different dining locations. The food smelled really good. I did not eat there, but everything smelled fantastic. They had a huge amount of activities for the residents. They could go to the store, and they have transportation arranged for that. They also had a variety of different levels of rooms. They had studios, one bedrooms, and two bedrooms. I got to visit all the different room sizes, and they all were absolutely beautiful and very nicely decorated. It did not feel at all that you were in a facility; it was like a nice apartment. It's one of the ones I'm considering. The staff that I interacted with seemed to be very nice. They were very busy, and the residents had the option to be included just to do their own thing. Everybody seemed very happy and very personable when I was doing the tour.

There is virtually no staff around. When I've tried to call to report an emergency in my aunt's room, you can't get anyone to answer the phones. Even during regular hours, you spend 20 minutes waiting for someone to pick up. And then, you can't be sure they even do anything. They have very few things for them to do. They try to keep them all out in the community room and a lot of times, the tv doesn't work. So they just sit there with no activities or anything to keep them engaged. She says the food is terrible. Everytime I've gone in, the only staff I see are preparing to serve them their meals. The staff is friendly to the visitors but do not seem interested at all in the residents. The last time I was there, I had been sitting on a dining room chair and when I left, I had to get my clothes in the laundry, because my pants smelled of urine. It is definitely not clean, well-staffed or engaging. I wish I could move her out of there.

We liked Harmony at West Shore a lot. If we were deciding to do that, we would be looking at that place. It was also less expensive. If I was to move out of my own home and go into assisted living, I would think that would be a great place to be. The room was fine. Of course, the furniture was staged because we have to provide our own. But the room size and the way it was laid out, I thought was certainly fine. I have no problem living there. The only person I had any contact with was from the sales office and she took us around to look at different things like the therapy area, the game room, and the cafeteria. She did everything. She answered all our questions, she was very knowledgeable, and she called me several times on follow-ups. I just talked to her again today and told her what was going on. She said, 'If you need anything, any help, or have any questions, give me a call.' So I couldn't ask for any more help than what she has already provided.

If I had the money, Harmony at West Shore is where we'd go. There are other ones that we looked at, but this place just stood out to me. It's very nice. Their two-bedroom, two-bath apartments are wonderful, but a little too high for comfort. They have a refrigerator, a microwave, and a stove. One thing that impressed me the most was their kitchen. They have a washer and dryer, too. The staff who toured us around was very nice. She was relatively young, which is very nice. She calls every now and then.

My husband and I went to tour Harmony at West Shore. The facility was very well cared for. It was clean. They had all kinds of activities that you could participate in. As well as if you're interested in bus trips or going to the grocery stores, they had all that. I believe they were dinner only. I guess you're on your own for the rest of it, but they did have kitchens in their independent apartments. The staff was very friendly, very knowledgeable, showed us everything that we needed to see. We're just not interested in the group meals that you have to be there at a certain time. We didn't try any meals, but the dining area was very lovely. It was very, very nice. They have a chef there who cooks all the meals, and you pick a menu for what you would like for the evening. They also have snacks, coffee, water, tea all day long. Whatever you need, they have available.

My mom stayed at Harmony at West Shore and was there for 3 months. She started first in the personal care level. Then during her last month, she was moved to the memory care (per their recommendation). What I can say about that place is that it is horrible. I would not recommend it at all, especially memory care. The staffing is low. The actual caretakers I didn't have an issue with, but the program is like a prison for the elderly. They're sitting around hunched in their wheelchair watching TV. It's a terrible place, which is why I moved my mom to a different place. The facility itself was nice and fairly new, but the care itself was just terrible. I would not wish it on anyone, especially the memory care. I'd hate for anyone to bring their loved ones in there. When I made a suggestion to the person I was dealing with, I got the silent treatment. It got so bad with my mom. It's a large facility. It's like a hotel. Even though they had the space, they had my mom out in the very back. We asked for my mom to be in the empty rooms closer to where the people are, so she didn't feel so isolated. They said they couldn't do that because they didn't have the staff to help move her stuff. It's only basically a bedroom and a table; that was it. It got so bad that, because I live close by, I would just pick up my mom at night and then bring her back in the morning because I had to work. The staff were good people, as far as the actual people serving her. My mom complained about the food though, especially in the memory care. It was very basic for breakfast. There's one piece of bacon and an egg. It's nothing fancy. It's fairly new, but there are no grounds in the area. There's no space for shade or just a good place where there's maybe a grassy area. It's all just concrete. The inside was nice, but there's no outside area to hang out. The activities were far and few in between. It's different with memory care and personal care. With personal care, they had a little bit more; but with the memory care, there was very little to speak of. They're like prisoners. They don't even take them out. They're locked in. I had to take my mom home every night in order for her to feel like she's being taken care of. Her room there was always messy. That experience was so different compared to the new place I have her in. No one was paying attention to her in Harmony. Everyone else around there in the memory care were just sitting there around the television slumped over. It wasn't even a money thing. There was just no value to it. It's just that my mom did not have the care. I just feel sorry for all the others with no family members visiting them because then they have no idea.

We did a tour of Harmony at West Shore Independent Living. They have a very high price, you could tell it. It's a high-rise type, I didn't think it was for us. The layout is very nice, and their people are very nice. I think it is much smaller. They had two-bedrooms, but they were all very small. The staff was very nice, very friendly. We didn't observe any activity, but they had a TV room, and a library.

I went to see Harmony at West Shore in Mechanicsburg and it was awful. It wasn't good at all. It's another one that I thought wasn't specifically designed for memory care. It was very dark. The facility was an L layout. I think I saw 2 staff the whole time I was there and they weren't happy or even said hi. The guide I had didn't even know how to interact with someone who needs memory care. She ignored them. I feel like not all the staff at that location had the training to work with dementia patients and it was very obvious. Also, what was bad about it was, they say they have activities, but the activities are not within the memory care center. The memory care was a secure unit so I asked, "Well, what if someone wants to do that there?" and the guide said, "Well if we have extra staff from assisted living, they would come over and escort them." I wonder if that would ever happen. Plus, they're not trained so it just seemed like a very poor setup. It was dark and I think they had an activity center, but it looked old and unused. When I walked into the cafeteria area, there were 4 women slumped over and asleep. That's about it for residents that I saw so I guess they were mainly in their rooms. I saw one staff member at the turn, the 90-degree angle there, and that person was behind a desk, totally ignoring me and the tour guide. Sometimes when you're in a hospital, you feel kind of like that but she wasn't out and involved. She wasn't friendly and didn't look like she wanted to be there either.

Facility marketing staff at first meeting are very cordial and treat you nicely. Beware, some of what they tell you is exaggerated. Do your research and use due diligence before committing to moving here. Facility is often short staffed. Call bell response is very slow most often exceeding 10 minutes and up to 20 minutes. They claim response time would be between 5-7 minutes. My relative wasn’t bathed for 5 days and a family member bathed her. Short staffing, on occasion, has been an issue with one person for all floors for assisted living. Staff turnover is an issue. The hallways on the floors are extremely long and there is only one elevator. Residents with walkers and canes have to walk a very long distance to the elevator. I’ve been told food is good.

I have a friend who lives in Harmony at West Shore. Actually, I have two friends out there, and before the pandemic set in I had tours of it by my friends. I'm aware of what they have to offer. I was very impressed with the overall facility. In fact, my friend had recommended it to me and I would recommend it also. We have lunch there periodically. My friend speaks well of the food. He took the dinner plan; it's very good. I like the choices and what-have-you. They do a very good job. They were very gracious and I was very impressed. Everybody was very friendly.

We visited Harmony at West Shore. Everything was nice, but my father was too far gone for them. They kind of built our hopes up that they could take him, but they never would, and that was so disappointing. It's brand new, and it's beautiful. The staff was very good, but they kind of led us on.

The Crossings at West Shore is very nice and open for about a year. The apartments are very large and very nice. We had a good lunch. I like the rooms. However, it is a little farther away from where I am now. The staff is very nice. I like the place very much.

My overall experience with The Crossings at West Shore was great. Their staff is nice, friendly, and interactive. They have excellent facilities, and the room I saw was very nice. We had lunch in their dining area and it was great, the food was very good, and they had a really nice and friendly chef. They have lots of activities and there was a very good interaction between everyone in the community. Its a good place; the best one weve looked at.

We visited The Crossings at West Shore and I thought it was beautiful. The staff was very informative, professional, and very nice. They're also very welcoming, so I was pleased. They said we could come back and bring the family. The facilities they have are all brand-new. The community is in a very beautiful location and very convenient, there's a hospital right there, and a diagnostics center all within that complex, and not far away there are grocery stores. Even though you're close to those things, there are still parts of the community that are being built up, and some that are very remote, so it's really nice.

The Crossings at West Shore is brand-new and I like that they have an RN on staff during the day. The rooms and apartments were beautiful, they were sunny, and they have two windows a bedroom and in the living area. They also have many models, so you can go from 333 square feet to 745 square feet, which is the biggest room. They have granite countertops, a full refrigerator, microwave, and I can move in there in a heartbeat. They also have independent living, personal care, and memory care. The person who gave me the tour was great, the activities director was wonderful, and they answered all of my questions honestly. They have physical therapy and a lot of activities, although not as many as the other community we visited. I took my mom on a Fourth of July picnic there and we had hamburgers and hotdogs. The food is farm-to-table, so it's fine. The place is visually beautiful, guaranteed. The staff is knowledgeable and understanding, which is a big thing.

The Crossings at West Shore was beautiful, but they were not completely online and ready, and there were places and things that needed to be fixed. I think it's going to be a great facility, but it's not there yet. The dining area looked nice.

This place is absolutely beautiful... The apartments are spacious, the kitchen has stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher and they even have a movie theater! The place seemed very warm and I was greeted with smiles. Good atmosphere.
