My mother is in Evergreen Estates Retirement Community. Everything I needed, they were OK to do, especially the price. She's under the care of assisted living. The staff is very good. They do everything for her. They do stuff that keeps the residents busy. They offer everything that she needs, and they take care of them. In their regular suites they have everything, but in their suites for the mentally disabled they don't have any amenities. It's very clean. It's near restaurants and maybe ten blocks from the hospital.

Many times my mother received the wrong medication. They even put eardrops in her eyes. She was also given a diagnosis by somebody who is not a clinical person. The clinical staff or so-called clinical staff is very incompetent.

Evergreen Estates Retirement Community was good for what it offered. They just didn't have any skilled care there or rehab. When I talked to them, they said mom probably needs a level above what they're able to offer. Everybody was supposed to be very mobile there. The person during the tour was good. It's a very nice and very clean facility. It seemed pretty good for somebody who didn't need very much assistance at all. If you needed more assistance, you'd have to go somewhere else. The rooms were very nice, clean and up-to-date. The dining area looked clean and up-to-date as well, but I didn't eat there. They have crafts, a music program, bingo, and jigsaw puzzles.

I have toured the Evergreen Estates Retirement Community in Lancaster. They're very helpful. The staff is very nice, and they're more personable than where my mother currently is. What I like least about it is that not everybody was available at the time of the tour when I had it. They were very busy. I toured the assisted living part of it. No one offered to have me taste any of the meals, which would've been a good idea. It's an older place. It's not like some of the ones that you see online. They don't have the tennis courts, the pools, the gyms, and stuff like that. My mother is in a wheelchair though, so it's not like she would be using any of these facilities. It's an older facility. I think it was built in '86. The cleanliness is good. It's very well maintained. I saw the maintenance men coming around and checking on things and everything that the residents had asked about. They were also talking to the person I was touring with. For us, this location would be closer to my brother and me. It would also suit my mother's needs.

Evergreen Estates Retirement was very nice. It was laid out nice, but it didn't fit what we were looking for. The staff was very nice, but it wasn't quite set up how I liked. They had an outdoor courtyard. They're upgrading it. They had a nice dining area. They're putting in extra lounges and a little exercise area. It was very clean. It's a very nice area. It looked very nice and comfortable. The closest hospital is downtown. There were some few restaurants here and there, pharmacies, and a little mall down the road about quarter of a mile. There were some amenities around.

We went with Evergreen Estates Retirement Community. It was a more cheery and more active type of place for my parents. We put an application in there if and when the time comes. It is much newer and the layout is different than other places. It is open, updated and more modern. Majority of the rooms set out into a private courtyard, which is nice. Some of the rooms have small kitchenettes and some of them have fireplaces. Their dining room is very bright and cheery. They have a sunroom at the end of each hall. It is just much more conducive. They have a large porch outside. There are all kinds of activities and lunch was going on while we were there and that looked very good, too. Overall, the atmosphere of the place was very uplifting. The dining room was very bright and cheery. They had big double doors that went out into a huge courtyard with a big gazebo, chairs and walkers. I visited both independent and assisted living. They're also opening a memory wing that was under construction. They said in about two weeks that would be open.

My mom loves Evergreen Estates Retirement Community. It is a blessing because I didn't think she would ever say that she really likes going into assisted living anywhere. The residents as well as the staff go out of their way to be friendly with her. They make my mom feel very welcome because it is difficult for her to make friends. That was a very important thing for us at the very beginning. They serve three full meals and snacks. They have weekly trips to different doctors if we schedule the doctors' appointments on those days. There are all sorts of different activities. They do different trips, they have people that cook, and people that sew who come in, and they have a walking club.

Over the years the food is out of boxes and cans. Staff never stays the same, always new faces, administrations fault as not able to keep staff. As of today there are seven ads for help.

Evergreen Estates is an outstanding facility with a wonderful staff. Our Dad has been there for just a brief time but we are very impressed with how things are run and how serious Evergreen is about making their community a positive, healthy, & safe place to be. While some things aren't always perfect 100% of the time, you'd be hard pressed to find a finer retirement community that really cares.

This community provided my aunt with the best level of care. The nursing assistants were always smiling and in a good mood. The kitchen staff always accommodation my aunt's "unique" diet without hesitation. The only negative is the location of the facility. There is not much outside space for the residents to take a walk or have picnics outside ( my aunt loves being outside) and the facility's driveway is located on a busy road which depending on the time of day, can be almost impossible to get out without having to wait 20+ minutes. Overall a good facility.
