In 2019 after careful research and many on-site visits to other facilities I selected Arden Courts for my beloved husband. I never regretted that decision. To my mind Arden Courts, which was designed exclusively to serve persons with dementia and their families, offers a beautiful homelike facility with an enormous, secure, and accessible outdoor area. With walking paths, benches, tables and chairs, flowers, trees and bird feeders, residents who need to walk and move have plenty of safe and lovely grounds in which to do so. The central building has four wings, or neighborhoods each with its own kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, and shower room. Every resident has their own private room with en-suite private half bath. The secure central building is full of light with lots of windows and views to the lovely grounds. It has not one, but two activity rooms, a nurses station with round-the-clock nursing, and a beauty/barber shop. Also within the central building are four open areas with different themes, a dog park, a beach, a café, and a library, All with places to sit for visiting with family or just resting. But a beautiful facility would be nothing without a great staff. And Arden Courts has a phenomenal, dedicated, and deeply caring staff, with longevity! The latter is rare to find in memory care facilities where staff turnover is generally high, because the work is so hard. But these are people who have made memory care their life‘s work. And they take it as their mission to care for the families as well as the residents, with deep compassion and understanding for the tragedy and difficulties families face when dementia enters the picture. I cannot fully express the gratitude I feel for the loving and responsive care my dear husband received during his stay there until death. If there is any doubt as to the sincerity of this review, I have just this past week facilitated the move-in of my dearest friend who began to show signs of dementia shortly after my husband was diagnosed. When her husband asked where he should place her now that she needs more care than he can provide alone, I recommended one place only, Arden Courts.

My mother-in-law will be moving into Arden Courts of King of Prussia. We chose them because they specialize in behavioral dementia. They are very good at what they do. Few places specialize in frontal lobe dementia, and they are very trained in handling the behaviors, de-escalating, and redirecting. The rooms are smaller for a purpose because they try to encourage all residents to be out among all of the other residents. It's in a circle, so they can kind of walk in any direction, and get where they need to be. They have full access to the outside courts, which was very important to my mother-in-law. They've got activities almost like every other hour just to keep them up and moving and interactive. You can tell that it's a little dated. It's an older community. It's not a modernized, community but it's fit for dementia care.

From our initial tour until today, 6 weeks later, everyone has been kind and treated my loved one with dignity. He is safe and well cared for and has plenty of activities to keep him occupied. He likes the food too. His room is always clean and though it may seem small, it is a good size for someone with dementia.

My father was a resident of Arden Courts of King of Prussia. The staff was very nice and kind to him, and all the people seemed to be very nice there and he seemed to appreciate that. The staff was very good. His room there was private. He enjoyed some of the games and things. They had games together, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. I never really got past the front desk because of the COVID. He loved the food.

Dirty, Residents were CRAMED into rooms for community time with ONE aide to 20 residents. No attention to individual care. Do not believe the website's claim to one on one time. Condescending attitude from SEVERAL AIDES AND STAFF. I feel bad for any resident there. I feel bad for any of the good aides that work there as well.

My husband, a nine-year stroke survivor with vascular dementia, has been a resident of Arden Courts in King of Prussia, PA for the past six months. When I knew that I could no longer safely care for him at home, I undertook a lengthy investigation into the facilities that claimed to be able to meet his needs. He had been in a memory care unit for two months previously; thus, I knew what questions to ask and what answers I needed to hear. The executive director, Nicole G., addressed each of my concerns and introduced me to many of the staff members who would ultimately be responsible for his care. Additionally, I learned that Arden Courts has a monthly fee that covered all aspects of my husband’s care. In many of the facilities that I visited, the price of care was determined according to a detailed checklist of services, and it was clear that the monthly fee was likely to change once he became a resident. Finally, Nicole made it clear that my husband’s behavior would NOT be a factor in the decision for him to remain in their care as was the case in most of the other facilities that I contacted. Simply put, Arden Courts “gets it” when it comes to dealing with all aspects of dementia. My husband was admitted to Arden Courts at 1:30 in the morning, straight from the local ER after a serious fall. His transition into the unit went as expected: a few good days and many not-so-good days. The well-trained staff solicited my input regarding his more troublesome behaviors, and he began to participate in some of the community activities – a great surprise and relief to me! Additionally, he was not allowed to lie in his bed all day as he was in his previous placement. At all times throughout this initial acclimation process, we were BOTH treated with utmost respect and caring by all members of the staff. I would be remiss in writing a review of Arden Courts in King of Prussia without specifically mentioning the multitude of caregivers – the dedicated individuals who provide the hands-on care around the clock. Each resident is truly unique in personality and behaviors. The caregivers quickly learn what brings out the best in each person as well as how to avoid some of the triggers that can initiate the behaviors to be avoided. They calmly, consistently and even lovingly interact with the residents under their care. Communication with individual members of my husband’s care team can be challenging at times; however, Nicole will always respond to a phone call, a text or an e-mail (even when sent at a less-than-reasonable hour) in a timely manner to find the answer to the specific question and/or to provide the staff with needed information. This is especially true in regards to critical medical questions. It should also be noted that Arden Courts hosts programs led by nationally-recognized authorities on dementia for professionals, caregivers, family members and the public. It also provides caregiver’s support groups for both the family members of residents and the general public. Finally, the path through dementia is long, cruel and increasingly solitary, for both the patient and the family. You are not alone, however, as the Arden Courts family becomes your family.

My husband has been at Arden Courts in King of Prussia for over two months. Emily Bova, the marketing director, was incredibly kind and caring in helping us make this transition from the hospital. The executive director, Nicole Groff, is always available to help, support, and listen. She takes a hands-on approach in helping residents and is sensitive to what each resident needs. The nurses, aides, and staff have been so kind and caring. I have been very happy with the high level of care, which is greater than I even expected. The on-staff doctor and nurse who have seen my husband are superb. I feel very fortunate to have found such a good facility.

I have a family member who has been at Arden Courts for more than 2 years. He has had excellent care from all of his caregivers. Arden Courts is set up with 4 "houses" and he loves to walk freely from "home" to "home" as well as outside in the secure courtyard. All of the caregivers know the residents' names no matter which "house" they call home! He was in another personal care home before moving to Arden Courts and did not get the level of support he needed to manage activities of daily living. I recommend Arden Courts to anyone who has a family member who has been diagnosed with dementia. They also provide great support to the family.

My grandfather was a resident here. One night in February he wandered outside unnoticed and fell. He crawled around in the snow for 30 minutes. We were not told the truth initially what had happened to him. Five days later he was taken to the hospital with severe frostbite on his hands and feet. My grandfather was in the hospital and a rehab facility for almost 2 months. He also had lost a significant amount of weight in the 4 months he was a resident at Arden Courts (30 lbs.), which was never properly addressed.

Arden Courts was very clean, friendly and it had an open garden area. It just seemed very nice and comfortable. The staff is very professional. Each room had two or three people in it with a bathroom in each room. The dining area is fine, and everything is very clean.

My friend's family decided to place my friend at Arden Courts because it was convenient for her sister, but she died last February. The family liked it a little better than the other facility, but I wasn?t really thrilled with it. Her rooms was small, but it was OK though. The times that I went, I just felt it was not clean. I would say in general it was just average. This wouldn?t be some place that I would recommend.

I cannot begin to express my gratitude and appreciation to the entire staff of Arden Court. From the Executive Director ,the Nurses and Aides they strive each day to provide love, care and compassion to each and every resident. We interviewed nine facilities and although Arden was not the least expensive it was the best for us. My dad has been at Arden for the past nine months and I am so very thankful for the care he receives each day at Arden Court. God bless Dad's caregivers . We are so happy and thankful we found such a wonderful facility for our Father.

I have nothing negative to say about this facility. My grandparents were both happy until the day they passed away. They were always well taken care of. When we visited the staff was friendly and helpful. They allowed us private family time with everyone. They also checked in to make sure every one was doing well, and to see if anyone needed anything. They were attentive. Even towards the end, then both of my grandparents did not always know what was happening, they were kind and caring with them.
