My brother was in Westmont Woods (Presbyterian Home of Greater Johnstown) for therapy, but it was too expensive for him to go into assisted living. It's a beautiful, nice, and modern-looking building. They had so much staff, and the rooms were small and felt cramped. They treated him well, but I wasn't really happy with it. Communication was very poor, and the staff was just too busy. They had a lot of help, but none of them could spend too much time with him because they were filled to capacity with patients.

For the most part, the facility was clean. There was a mild smell of urine, but I guess that is to be expected. My grandmother was treated quite fairly during her time there. The staff was friendly and usually had the seniors doing something to pass the time such as weekly activities including bingo. However, there was plenty of downtime, so we had to buy activities (puzzles) for my grandmother to complete. The only real complaint that I would have is the facilities choose of how to room two residents there. My grandmother was alert and able to move around for the most part, while her roommate lay in bed and sleep most of the time. She couldn't interact with the lady for the majority of the time, so I thought it was a waste for them to live together. Other than those problems, I have nothing negative to say. It was a secure, clean place where the faculty complete their jobs well.
