I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The rooms could use a paint job to brighten them up. The staff is always kind and accommodating when I need assistance with my family member. It is always festive looking during all the holidays for the resistant's and they definitely make an effort to try to improve the place.

If it was possible to give zero stars, I would. This place is a hole. The only positive is that the nursing staff is very nice, the business office not so much. Horrible smell as you enter the building and the place is filthy. Bare bones everything and I wonder how, or if, it passes inspection. Thankfully my Dad is a Veteran, so I was able to transfer him to a Vet facility which was a huge upgrade. I also had problems with the billing department who never set up billing with my Dad for over a year, therefore charging ME for his bill! I had no POA nor signed anything re: his bills. $24,000 later in arrears because of their blunder, they put ME in collections!! When I tried to contact them, they never returned my calls! Still dealing with this nightmare. PLEASE find somewhere else for your loved ones.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. They left me lay in bed not eating or anything (and I am a diabetic) for four days) I would tell them I felt hot and they would that temperature gun and say 97.9 every single day - how could that be??? Meanwhile my face was fiery red. An RN finally got the doctor (ha) and finally agreed to send me to the hospital. I ended going to Presbyterian because I was SO sick no other hospital wanted to take me. I don't even remember going or getting there. I don't remember the ER I only remember when I got to Critical Care ICU. So my temp was 102.9 not 97.9, my bp was 56/40 and I still wasn't eating. They were afraid my heart would give out with my pressure so low. Oh did I forget to say I was in septic shock? The Administrator is a joke - he called the police on my sister cause she went to get my mail and she even called ahead of time. So he had her escorted out of the building. All they do is lie at first they said it was in his office, then poof it wasn't.

This place is dirty and horrible. I’m by no means a clean freak but this place is a joke. There are no true staff. It’s all Agency that just sits on their phones and collect their money. No one if there is even management at this time (they ALL quit) (my Mom is not joking) cares for these old folks. It’s sad and I hope they shut this place down. Harsh as it is.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My sister was a resident of The Grove at Irwin. Between the smell and the staff being overwrought with too many patients, I thought it was a horrible place. And the smell of urine was impeccable. It was just utterly the worst experience I've ever had in a nursing home. I would never have any family members there if I can help it. People who worked there tried, and so I give them a three, but they had doctors that came in that utterly, utterly did not care at all. So, I'd rate the doctors a one. But the nurses did their best under the circumstances of being understaffed. I don't think there were enough activities to keep them stimulated. My sister was under Medicaid when she was there. There were two people in the room, and she wasn't happy having a roommate. She had occupational and physical therapy and that was good. She was there from 2018 to the end of 2019 before the pandemic. I would say don't go there. It was a very bad experience.
