Westminster was beautiful, spacious, and clean. The whole place was open, and the rooms were nice. They're private pay, and my mother is low income. They had wonderful staff and frequent activities. I saw a lady leading exercises. They had magazines and puzzles placed in different areas for people who wanted to participate.

We are planning on moving to Westminster Woods. We have spent 2 weeks there so far at their expense, we were provided with meals and lovely little guest Cottage. We had dinner With over 16 people while we were there. The more we did and the more we saw, the more we liked the community. It is a small community which is something we were looking for. There is a contract with the local Juniata College which allows residents to attend courses for free. The houses are spacious from 1350 square feet to 1700 square feet. The personal care or Assisted Living area has one room efficiencies. This may be what the prior review is referring to. The policy of the administration is to keep everyone in their home until the person becomes unsafe to themselves or to others. There are also 10 Apartments, either one bedroom or two bedroom apartments. We had dinner with the total of 16 people over the four nights that we were there. All were very welcoming and answered our questions very honestly.

Westminster Woods of Huntingdon was OK. It was smaller than a lot of places. The rooms were a little bit larger than some. The staff was very cordial and very helpful.

I visited this location several times while my family was dealing with the worsening condition of a great-grandmother. She was diagnosed with advanced dementia symptoms and later alzheimer's disease. During her time here I believe she was very cared for. The facility was bright and the nursing staff were friendly and generally very hospitable to our requests or needs concerning her care. Unlike other facilities I have seen or been at, Westminster Woods has an excellent location - detached enough from the surrounding community to offer a peaceful area but also only minutes from Juniata College and downtown Huntingdon. Overall I would say that the accommodations were above average and that the staff was knowledgeable and attentive. I give the location 4/5 only because of minor complaints from my great-grandmother relating to the food served. That said, I have been in multiple situations where elderly friends or relatives have been in nursing care and unhappy with food choices (I feel it is a common issue). Additionally, the staff did go the extra mile to try to help her in this regard.
