I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom moved into Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg. We chose it because they have a continuum of care. My mom could go into skilled nursing when she needs to. It's a nice place, and it's clean. It's very homelike. They have activities. They have religious services at different times. They have outdoor porches where residents can sit. The dining rooms were very nice. Like a lot of places now, sometimes they're a little short-staffed. But they're very attentive and respond quickly. They're kind and patient. My mom enjoys the meals. They're comparable to other places.

Provider Response

My parents live in Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg. The employees are superb. Whoever selects them has done a tremendously good job. They're all very caring, they go the extra mile, and just take nice care of everyone. They are very, very pleasant and highly skilled. The facility is not as fancy as some places, but it's all neat, clean, and quite welcoming. They were outstanding. They have an outdoor Strawberry Festival in the summer which is extremely nice. They'll take a bus and take them to activities. They have an exercise room. They had physical therapists down there, working machines every day with her. It was quite inclusive.

Provider Response

We appreciate the positive feedback. It means a lot. Hope you have an amazing day!

I chose Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg for my parents because of the kindness of the employees. It's also affordable. My mother has moved into their skilled nursing and my dad's about to move too in the middle of September. The food is not perfect but it's good. The place is neat and clean. There's a courtyard, a salon, and a place for them to go to hear music. The care that we're getting and the price just fit. The place is near their home or the home that they owned for years. It's also not far from the hospital.

Provider Response

Hi Andrea, that’s wonderful to hear. Thanks so much for leaving us a review. Have a wonderful day!

My dad was at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg and it was very nice. They had different levels; that was what made it so nice. They had different houses. If you need assistance, they have caretakers. It was a big place. If your health goes down, you can move into their assisted living place. There was a hospital right there beside them. They had different sitting rooms. The rooms were pretty nice, too. The staff was really wonderful. I cannot say enough about them. They took care of my dad like he was their relative.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I am in the rehab section of Presbyterian Village. I think it is really an excellent place. My only concern is that it is kind of far away from my home and family. But it is very nice, the accommodations are very nice, and it's got a homey feel to it as opposed to a clinical nursing. The staff is relatively small town people, and they are very nice, very caring people. The food, I think, is above average in variety, and there are lots of choices. It is more like home cooking as opposed to institutional-like food, which you get in some places. And they have therapy as well. Physical and occupational therapy are available, and they have a really good team of people here to do that because mostly there are about five or six people in the therapy area. Excellent sanitation; it is a very clean place. There are always people around cleaning and mopping up, and taking care of things. They also do your laundry here, and they do a pretty good job of that as well. They also have a lot of optional religious kinds of things. They have a chaplain here, and they also have Sunday services, Bible study, mass, and rosary for Catholic people, so I guess because of the Presbyterian background, they also offer that kind of spiritual side as well.

I visited this facility

I looked at the Presbyterian Home, and it was nice. You couldn't find a parking place there. You had to park off on the side street. It's not real convenient. I checked out the rooms, and they were probably a little smaller than what his private room was, but they were nice and clean. The staff was friendly. I saw their dining room, and it was nice. It was very sufficient, and not quite as classy, but it was very nice and clean. They have preachers that come in on Sundays. It was very pleasant. It's right in town. You could probably walk to some of the stores from there.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My experience while visiting Presbyterian Village was a positive one. The staff was all very helpful and friendly. Even the ladies working in the dining hall knew and called my grandmother by her first name while she was staying there. I even met her physical therapist when she dropped my grandmother off at her room. She was friendly and remembered that my grandmother spoke of me often. The facility was always clean and had an inviting atmosphere. Even the other patients there seemed to be in good mood as a result of the friendly staff despite their situation of having to be in the facility. The food at Presbyterian Village was also very good. I was able to sample some myself as my family spent Mother's Day with my grandmother and ate lunch with her. They had many choices to choose from and you could also order as much as you liked. Even though they had all these choices, they also had option for people who had specific dietary needs and the staff all knew which patients were in need. Overall, my family and my grandmother had a very positive experience while she was staying at Presbyterian Village.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

The Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg in Hollidaysburg PA was an extremely wonderful place for my grandmother to stay after her stroke a few years back. After a lengthy rehabilitation process my family and I chose Presbyterian Village for my grandmothers extended care as we would not be able to do it ourselves. The staff at the nursing home was wonderful providing both my family and my grandmother with counseling as we needed during our hard time. The home had many wonderful residents as well that provided company for my grandmother when family was unable to visit. The rooms and facilities of the home were very well maintained and it was just a great place for her to be, it never seemed like she was in a nursing home, more like it was her own home. She felt safe and comfortable there. The nurses treated my grandmother with the utmost respect and gave the best care possible and my family is extremely grateful for all their hard work.
