My brother moved into Holiday The Manor At Oakridge one week ago. It was very nice. I liked everything about it. My brother likes the food a lot. And he's getting along with all the people. All the people are so friendly. So he's getting along real well with them. I know every Thursday they have something going on. They have all kinds of games to play. And there are people playing games, putting puzzles together, just all kinds of things going on all the time. It's a very nice apartment. It had brand new carpeting and just painted and stuff. He's got a studio apartment, and he's got a nice little kitchenette in there and cupboards. It's a nice big place. He has a nice terrace on there, too.

I was a past resident of Holiday The Manor At Oakridge. They're in the process or planning to be in the process of renovating or renewing their place. It's probably 24 years old having been built in the year 2000. So, I found it to be in disrepair and not very clean. The carpeted floors were dirty and soiled. And they have pets in there. And, outside the elevators, when the pets come down, they urinate there at the entrance elevators. It's just a nicely designed building, but it hasn't been properly maintained. The tables in the dining hall are lopsided and loose. The staff was sort of fellow sufferers in that situation. They were nice. They're doing the best with what they have for sure. The price was 2650 a month, and that included three meals a day and housekeeping. It was situated at the corner of the building. And so it had a diagonal slant to the room, and it gave the sense that it was larger than it was square foot-wise. You get a sense of big living, which is kind of nice. We have a large atrium where music and other activities happen. It'll accommodate maybe 40 or 50 people. And also it's multi-source. When there's a concert venue, they will have people lining up around the upper balconies of this atrium. The atrium is at the nexus of the two main wings of the building. And so it's coming in. It's very next to the large dining room, and of course, that's available for other than dining if you want to do something in there. There's a game room with a pool table. There's a library with tables where they also have cards happen there. There's a little gym, just a small gym where you could do safe things like ride a bicycle and stuff like that, and a stationary bicycle. There are beautiful grounds, and a nice entryway where you can sit in a rocking chair and chat with your friends. It's beautifully designed and planned, just not maintained.

I toured Holiday The Manor At Oakridge. It was very nice. They treated us very well. I took two other people with me to help me remember what was being said. And, they treated us to lunch, which was very nice. Everybody was very friendly. The facility is very clean and well kept and well-maintained. The apartment I looked at had a kitchenette, a living area, and then a separate bedroom and a full bath with closet space both in the living area and in the bedroom area, which was nice to have. Women need closets. It also had either a balcony or a patio on the first floor. So there was an outside area to each apartment, which was very nice. The food was good. They're set up to feed you as if you were walking into a restaurant. They give you a menu and you have choices as to what you want to eat. And they serve you sitting down. You don't have to do a tray and go along and pick out your food. They serve you, which is nice. So, the food and the service were very, very good.

We did a tour of Holiday The Manor At Oakridge. The room setup was nice, there was one particular apartment that my mom liked. They told us there were going to be some updates next year, like the rugs in the hallways and I think the dining area which needed it. The lady that we toured with did say that they were getting things updated and painted and just a refresh. But the rooms that we saw were clean, they were spotless, and the floor plan was nice. In terms of services and amenities, the ones that were important to us were the inclusion of meals and then there were activities provided. I believe there were rides to the grocery store and to doctor's appointments if needed. The staff who gave us the tour was very informative.

Holiday The Manor at Oakridge was horrible and dirty. It was supposed to be independent, but they should have said it was a nursing home. There was an ambulance coming probably two or three times a week. I don't like anything nice about it, it was awful. The carpets were filthy. In the dining room, the wait staff was never there. They hired kids that didn't show up. The cook would come out and say, 'Well, I'm the only cook today, so the only thing that you can have for breakfast is pancakes and bacon.' It was just poorly staffed. I was supposed to get my apartment cleaned once a week, but no. I was there for six months, and it was cleaned once because they did not have housekeeping people. They didn't have enough staff, so that was the problem. There weren't enough people taking care of the dining room, there wasn't any housekeeping, and the maintenance guy was pitiful. All he did was walk around and it looked like he was trying to be busy, but he didn't do diddly squat. There was only one person that was doing their job and that was the assistant manager. With regards to food, they would put stuff on the menu to make it sound like it's going to be something good, but it was like, no, don't even think about it being good, it was bad. When people found out I was leaving, they said, 'We would leave, too, but we don't have any place else to go.' There were a lot of people there who were not happy, but they had no place else to go, so they were stuck there. As for activities, they hired a new activity person, and she was good. She was trying her darndest to get things. She was new, she was young, and she was trying new things.

I liked everything about Holiday The Manor At Oakridge. There was nothing I didn't like. They were very accommodating. This is the place that I had visited that I wanted my husband to agree to go to. It was more a matter of he did not have the funds available to move in there yet because he's still waiting to get his Social Security and have that started, so he was not able to afford it, and that's the big flag. They showed me a studio, which would have been the actual studio apartment that my husband would have gotten had he moved on it quicker. And it was more than accommodating because where he's at right now, he has a room, and that's it. This place had a small kitchenette and its own bathroom. It was just like a small apartment. He would have a private balcony, and then the room size was adequate for a bed and a recliner or a loveseat. It had three closets. It was very clean. They have cleaning people that come in, so he wouldn't even have to do that, although I think he would have. The few staff that I met were all wonderful. The dining room was like you were in a restaurant. They have servers come to your table, and they offer you a menu with maybe five things per meal that you can choose from yourself. You can sit there in the dining room with other people, or you can take your tray to your room. The meals looked good, and there was a variety, so I thought that was wonderful. They do about a hundred different activities a month, and they have separate rooms. They have an exercise room, a library, and a game room with a pool table and poker tables. They have laundry facilities free of charge on every floor. The only thing he would have to have paid extra for is a haircut, and they have a salon on the third floor of the place. But everything else was inclusive so I think it was well worth it. There was a resident director there and she was as personable as could be. I felt like I knew her. She was very open and very real. She didn't sugarcoat anything. She was willing to help me get him in there by waiving the usual deposit. Knowing his financial situation, she was able to get that portion waived for me, so he just had to start paying by the month. I liked it because he would have to have signed a 90-day lease and that's it, and then it goes month to month after that.

I am pleased to say that our whole family is elated with the service and kindness the staff at Manor at Oakridge has given our brother. He is living there for 8 mos. and even during universal staffing shortages, they are committed to providing meals, housekeeping, salon services, transportation, and activities on a regular basis. My brother who is 55 and is handicapped, remained safe and still does during the Covid Pandemic with stringent safety measures and vaccines available in house.

I liked The Manor at Oakridge and it's close to my home. We were impressed with all of the amenities. The facility itself was attractive and very clean and seemed to be well run. They had indicated that they had a lot of activities that they do with the people that live there. I was very impressed with the management. We just liked it overall. Even the dining facility was very nicely set up and it seemed to be well run. Though we didn't stay for a meal, we were impressed with the way that they had it set up with a menu and everything. It's like a restaurant. The people go and sit at the table and there's a menu there that they can choose from, and then someone comes around and takes their order like a restaurant. The apartment that they showed us for my sister was a one-bedroom and it was very, very nice, had lots of storage and it was very clean. It did not have a cooking facility, which made us happy because she doesn't need that. We'd be concerned if there was a stove in there and there is not. We were impressed with the whole layout and the management was very impressive as well. They do all the cooking for these people and they check on them and they would take them to the doctor if I can't do it. They had different outings and things like that. My nephew and I were very impressed with the whole thing. The staff during the tour was very knowledgeable and very personable. During the tour, we ran into a couple of the residents and they seemed to like him very much. The whole atmosphere was very comforting to me. When I spoke with one of the staff members, it impressed me that her own mother is a resident there as well, and she has been for a couple of years, I believe. That speaks volumes to me. The food smelled good, but we didn't have time to taste it. There was a refrigerator in the apartment, and it was enough for me. Any kind of appliance makes me nervous a little bit.

I went to The Manor At Oakridge. It was very nice. The tour was very good. It's a very nice and clean place. The people were very nice and friendly. I got plenty of information. The person who gave me the tour was very knowledgeable, professional, and very pleasant to deal with, and I enjoyed spending time with her. The rooms were beautiful and very nice. They're certainly big enough for what you're looking for, and they're clean and functional. I did not taste a meal probably because of the time that I went there. The atmosphere was very nice, and the dining room was beautiful, clean, and plenty of room for people to maneuver around. They have many activities. They play cards, they play dominoes, and they have a pool table. They had as many activities or as little as you wanted.

We went to tour at The Manor At Oakridge. They have three meals a day. They have no kitchen and no stove. They just have a kitchenette. You have to go to the dining room for the three meals if you wanted them. Everything was very lovely, well furnished, and clean. The dining room was clean and well furnished. They have libraries, movie rooms, community rooms where you could watch movies or whatever. Then they have tables for games where people can get together, play games, cards, and so forth. The staff was very, very helpful, seemed very knowledgeable, and showed us everything. She took us around the whole facility to every possible room you needed to see. The accommodation that she showed us was very nice, and we liked it.

The Manor at Oakridge has been wonderful. My mother has only been there a few days and is already starting to make friends. It's an independent living and they have activities all the time. I know she's starting to do a little where they have a kind of exercise thing and they're able to sit when they do it. She also loves that she has people to eat with and everyone's very friendly. The staff is awesome, from what I hear. I know the guy who helped us is good, too. She's already tried the food and she likes it. The maintenance and the cleanliness seem okay. I know there were some bees around that were outside my mom's room that still need to be taken care of but so far it seems like they do a pretty good job. She's only been there for a few days. From what I see right now, it's going to be easily worth it.

My mother-in-law moved into The Manor at Oakridge. I thought it was clean and it seems like a nice well-maintained place. It includes food and utilities. There's PT right on-site and activities every day. It seemed like a good fit. They look like they have bingo, and they have some field trips. You could go on to different restaurants. There is a board that listed six or seven activities per day. I didn't try the food, but my understanding is it's good. The dining area is very nice. And there certainly is a variety of food. It seems like a nice community, and it seems the people are nice. Some of them seem like they needed some physical assistance, which is why they're there. They seem like a nice community.

The people at Manor at Oakridge were very helpful, and we really appreciate that they helped us out on our visit. It's independent living, and my interest was in a 1-bedroom apartment. We looked at it, and it was very neat. They showed us their cafeteria or their eating space, and it's a very nice place. They have a gazebo and sitting areas outside too. It's all very well maintained.

Everything about The Manor At Oakridge is positive. It's probably the one we are most highly considering for my mom. Our tour experience was very good, and I have no complaints whatsoever. They walked us around the whole place, and we met some of the residents. Everyone was extremely friendly, very nice, and very informative.

My son and I went on an in-person tour of The Manor At Oakridge. The tour was all right, but it was not my most preferred location. I feel like I should be more in Lebanon county, which is where my family is. The staff member was good; it was a fellow that took us. I didn't really see all that pretty much, I just saw the apartment that was available, and the outdoor space was good. The location was nice, but my son thought it was a little far out among our community. It was way back in a little, and he wasn't sure that he would like that, it was off the main path, it was spread out quite a bit, and maybe he felt lost going in there. This one apartment was in there, and I'd have to learn how to walk to it. I don't drive anymore, so I can't park the car, but I'd have to walk in there and find my way, but I guess that you learn no matter where you are. It was like going in the back street to a town. It's in a good part of the Harrisburg area, there are a lot of different things that are convenient for it. It would be acceptable if I would want to live in that area.

The Manor At Oakridge has great facilities and it's a good fit for my mom. The staff is very friendly and caring, and it's a very clean facility. She's in a one-bedroom apartment, but it's adequate space. The food is good and they have activities. When you go in as a new resident you'll be quarantined in your apartment for two weeks. The living atmosphere was very nice, it was clean, and the people were friendly. It was the closest and the best fit, that's why we decided on it.

Carefree living, with all needs met. Friendly staff, who are there to meet your needs. I have a large studio apt, that is the perfect size for me. Very pet friendly. There are daily activities, such as bingo and card games, along with musical entertainment.

I found the Manor at Oakridge when looking for a place for my dad to relocate shortly after losing my mother. The upkeep of the building and grounds were impressive as were the staff members that i was able to meet with. I was happy to know that there were meals included in the base rates, along with light housekeeping and charge free self service laundry facilities. Dad has been there just about a month, and is doing well. He has met a couple neighbors (while maintaining social distance, of course) and is beginning to feel settled.

First, the community has a top notch staff and a excellent director. The residents are always well informed about public safety, ie., Corona 19 Virus, and every precaution is taken to keep them safe. The residents receive calendars of events for the month which are fun and interactive. The facility is Extremely clean and beautifully decorated. The residents rooms are cleaned on a weekly basis at no additional cost. Lastly, the extraordinary work of the staff should never be allowed to go unnoticed because this why this community is unmatched in the quality of life it gives to its residents.

I have been a resident of the Manor at Oakridge for over 3 years. I have been more than happy with my room. My room was selected by my son while I was in Atlanta. He made an excellent choice. It is a large studio with a large balcony that I use often. It has a lot of morning sun for my plants. The balcony is large enough for a table and 2 chairs, a rocking chair and a lounge chair. The staff is wonderful and treat me like a special person as does the management. They all do an excellent job of making us all feel safe and wanted. There are many activities for those who want to participate. All residents are encouraged to participate. The most activity seems to be bingo and many different cart games. The exercise room is well like also. My favorite amenity is the washing machine room. There is also 3 meals a day offered with many choices on the menu. The best part of that is no dishes to do or tips to leave at the table. There is weekly room cleanings which include vacuuming, bed changes, and cleaning bathrooms. There are also many, many other amenities that I appreciate. The biggest one for me is safety. I am very happy here and plan to stay for a long time.

Wonderful place for seniors! The staff was kind, caring and attentive to residents needs. Activities were available throughout the day including games, worship services and exercise class. Residents could sign up for bus trips to local attractions and shopping at local stores. Delicious, full course meals including dessert at lunch and dinner. Very nice rooms kept clean by the cleaning crew weekly. When my time comes, I want to live at Oakridge. Definitely consider this facility for your loved one!

My mother loves The Manor at Oakridge. It's a nice place. They have a hairdresser on-site, a worship room, a game room, a community room where people sit and watch TV, and tables with different activities like puzzles and word board. They serve them breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She has an efficiency apartment, which is enough just for her. The staff is good and very helpful. She's enjoying the food there. They have an exercise room, a computer room, and a room set up where they can do cooking and baking if they like.

We had a tour of The Manor at Oakridge, we had lunch there, and we also had a nice discussion. They showed us a small apartment, and everything is all in one building. They have something going on pretty much all the time. They have a dining room where they serve three meals a day. They also have an exercise facility, and the people can go on outside trips as well. The staff was very good.

My mom really liked The Manor at Oakridge. She said that when the time comes, it would be a really nice place to go. The staff was excellent. During the tour, we met with people who were serving lunches, so we had lunch there, and the food was very good. The way it was delivered to the people was very courteous. The whole setting was really clean, up-to-date, and well maintained, and there wasn't an odor at all. It was a really nice place to be. There were things for the residents to do, tables all over the place for puzzles, there was a billiard table and TVs. In the TV lounges, if you want to get together with somebody or your family, there was regular furniture, like comfortable chairs. It reminded me of staying in a place down at the beach. It was a really homey place. The apartments were very roomy and had a living room, a bathroom, and bedrooms. Some of the two-bedrooms even had two bathrooms and they were well lit. Everything was in really good shape. The apartments didn’t have ovens, but they had a microwave which was enough because you were provided with your meals included in the monthly bill. They had an on-site hairdresser and a beauty salon and transportation to take you wherever you wanted to go; you just had to request it for the next day. They also had lots of places where you could walk, and I got a very safe feelings about it. It was really well maintained and very nice, and the price was very reasonable for what I thought they were offering. They were very clear on what was covered and what wasn’t. You start out as independent living in your apartment, and then as you need more care, they will bring staff to take care of you, for an additional charge. They provide you with a safe place in a community and had events scheduled. The whole atmosphere was like living in a really luxurious house or hotel.

The Manor was very nice, I had lunch there, the food was very good, and there was a healthy choice. Although, the manager knew that I was looking in Virginia, he really pushed for the place there, and I felt really uncomfortable with that. There were outside activities; you can take the bus and go shopping, or you can go to your doctor's office. Sometimes a group would go out to dinner, or sometimes they had arts and crafts.

We went to The Manor At Oakridge. We really like this place. The management was extremely friendly. They worked hard to show us exactly what my husband wanted. The people that live there were very friendly. They have a reading room, and they have a church there every Sunday. I like that they have a podiatrist that comes once a month. They have physical therapy right there in the building. The other thing that I thought was really nice is all the doors going into the apartments are like front door on a house. It was really nice.

The overall friendliness and the appearance of The Manor at Oakridge made us choose the place. The rooms are very clean, bright, and very spacious and include a kitchenette. The two managers live there, so they are able to deliver care 24 hours. The staff and the residents are very friendly. The staff told us that they do seven activities per day, like walking clubs in the morning, bingo, bus trips, and performances.

The Manor at Oakridge is a very clean facility. They have housekeepers that do the laundry once a week and empty the trash once a week. The people are very friendly. They have community activities. They have a bus for transportation, but it doesn’t have a lift. They have full meals provided per day with lots of options and alternatives. Usually the meat is very soft and tender and that is very good for people with dentures or no teeth. You are welcomed to bring in guests and you don’t have to give notice in advance. The grounds are well kept. The staff were pretty good and they were very kind. They have very nice activities in terms of bringing in orchestras and people that play instrument and entertain.

The Manor was a very warm environment. It was a great value for the price. The staff was very committed. The rooms were nice. They were bright and had lots of natural light. It was maintained and well kept. It was designed with ease in mind. The dining room looked good, and it looked as though people enjoyed themselves socializing with each other. It's what we actually selected.

My brother is at Manor at Oakridge. The facility is very clean. The food is OK, but nothing spectacular. I think they have a lot of activities and things going on. He is in a one-bedroom with a restroom and a kitchenette. The residents are independent, so they look healthy enough. I think what I didn’t like about it is when you need somebody to give you pills, you have to pay for the service.

Mom was previously at The Manor and she was there for five months. It was a beautiful place. However, we didn't have a good experience there. We were very specific about her financial means and her condition. The director, which was also the manager had told us that VA would pay for it because he said that even though it's not an assisted living, it's like assisted living and they would take good care of her. Unfortunately, none of them was true. We lost a lot of money because he told us later that VA benefit would not consider them as an assisted living and it cost us $5,000 to $6,000. They didn't provide the care that we were promised. It was very disappointing because they allowed to move her in knowing she had Alzheimer's. But she ended up wandering outside as nobody took care of her. Then they called up and said we had to stay with her until we find her a nursing home.

The staff at The Manor went a second mile in terms of coming to see me to get to her. They were delightful. The facility was very nice. Their grounds are well kept. Another thing I liked about them is that you can have pets and that is exceedingly important. Most of the activities I knew where in-house activities like groups coming in, performances, and discussion groups. There is a van that is available for use or transportation. They have, as I recall, limited medical services. They also have a beauty salon and the residents can have cars.

After visiting several other place, my brother seems to like The Manor at Oakridge best of all so we place our mother there. It is a safe and well-lit place. They have three meals a day and serve by a wait staff. It is a good place for her because she can get around with her walker.

First of all, The Manor at Oakridge is located in the best possible area for a retiree. The facility is positioned in an excellent area on the outskirts of Harrisburg city, in a quiet and well kept neighborhood. There are very few cars around, making the place clean and peaceful. Also, the facility is only walking distance away from a host of attractions and shopping centers. My grandfather has access to museums, parks, malls, and various other attractions without needing the aid of an automobile. The facility itself is incredibly cozy, designed specifically for an atmosphere that the older generation appreciate. The staff I met were all friendly, courteous and professional. One young man in particular took the time to explain virtually everything to me about their daily schedules and safety procedures to ensure me of their guests well being. Simply put, the facility was impressive in every way possible. The only negative thing I could possibly bring attention to is the rate of living there. It's pricey--very pricey. On the other hand, of the facilities I'm familiar with, none of them are exactly cheap. In the case of The Manor at Oakridge, the level of luxury more than makes up for the price. I couldn't be happier with where my grandfather ended up.
