I was in The Grove for OT & PT. The therapist were great. Helped & taught me how to do things. Everyone was nice & helpful. My room was cleaned daily, Nurses were very caring. Aides were great, they came within minutes of ringing my bell. The food was good, there was always a 2nd choice on the menu. If I needed something from the kitchen all I had to do was ask. I would go back to The Grove for OT & PT.

I wish I could give it 0 stars. 1 star simply cause the nursing staff was nice. Don’t recommend ever sending your loved one to this home. My mom had to be there for a week after her surgery to get physical therapy. (this is also a nursing home) The Grove at Harmony 191 Evergreen Mill Road Harmony PA 16037 The place was filthy. I sent her disinfecting wipes so she can clean her area. I uploaded a photo after she wiped down hers. They bleached her clothing & didn’t give 3 pieces back. Her mattress was bad and after speaking to 5 different people, it was finally address a day later. When trying to speak to someone in upper management, it was like speaking to the wall. They said “we don’t refund for damaged or stolen items” Basically giving the staff the ability to do as they please. Calling me back tomorrow to discuss, should be interesting. The food was served beyond soggy and cold. The food they served I wouldn't even feed to my dog. Beyond unprofessional and we will also be calling the insurance company to let them know to remove them from the list of recommended places to send someone after surgery. Cleary they cut corners and are nothing but for-profit. It's sad. I can't even image sending my loved one here to spend the rest of their days. They might as well be homeless.

When the facility was Evergreen, it was great. Once it became The Grove at Harmony, things went downhill. Most of the nurses were great. The family counseling calls were never prepared with information. Told me the same thing on each call. Advice: always ask for medical records and history. If you live close, visit as often as possible to keep an eye on things. The activities are good. Once our family member passed away, we found out they were declining months prior to death. Our father had injuries that were never reported to the family. Staff kept care packages that were sent for my father. Personal items missing. No sympathies from the administration staff. Called family an hour before death to say they have passed. When arrived to pick up belongings, things were stuffed into garbage bags and thrown out the door to us. Out of 5 bags only 1 bag belonged to the family. The facility tried to bill us for the room a month after death. They didn't report his death to Medicaid for almost a month. So sad that it was a great place until it became corporate. Could be a nice place.

The Grove in Harmony is a single floor facility. Mom has a roommate. It's a lockdown facility. She wears a bracelet and it sets off an alarm if she's near the door. They're very good with occupational and physical therapy, and adjusted her care to her needs. They're helpful with her medications and she's doing really well. They have a lot of activities for them and they have picnics. The employees provide entertainment and they have daily activities that residents participate in and go to.

My mom is in here. I've been in there, too, and I think they're OK. Last Saturday, we had some kind of Christmas gathering down there with her, and we had a really good day. They have entertainment and church services that you must go to every Sunday in a special room.

My wife is in here. My mother and her mother were in there years ago, too. The thing that impressed me, and still does, is the number of aides running around. There's always somebody in the hallway to help them if someone has a problem. It's very clean, but it's old. In fact, part of the building was there when I was in high school, and I'm 85. We're satisfied with it, though. There are a lot of social activities, but my wife doesn't really participate. Her meals are served in the room. The place does not smell, and the rooms are clean. They're in the process of painting the rooms right now.
