So my dad has been there many years and at first arrival he was weak and just sat had to be lifted and moved.. After time he grew stronger and was able to use his wheel chair and wheel himself and roam and do activities and socialize. As his problems progressed he needed full time vent so his roaming ended and he depended more and more on staff. My dad can be cranky and not to honorable at times but staff mentioned and acknowledged his behaviors but still did their jobs and worked with him. Time has passed and he can no longer can even do want he had left to do and look forward to daily he was put on a feeding tube. ( and it was his decision to eat as long as he had, no fault to the nursing home) He has been sent to the hospital off and on a lot lately weeks pass and hes in the hospital then... back and forth. Which is why im wright this, I want to say I truly appreciate all that's been done on his behalf by the Presque Nursing home and rehab because we live in a time of the virus and my dad when sent to the hospital and tested was negative....... Thank you all the staff for keeping it away from him!!!! Thank you !!! I have had other family members who have been in this place and I have had my concerns but as far as safety from the virus I am very grateful.

This place is HORRIBLE! Filthy everywhere. Mother was resident there and all they did was dope her up till she did not even get out of bed to eat. They lost all her clothes first week she was there and had to wear gown till we bought her new clothes. Was never offered to be repaid. We tried to apply for Medicade but paperwork was never ready. Had to hire lawyer to get any progress from office staff. Family doctor never visited or inquired about patient. I feel mom would be dead by now if we had not moved her to another facility. They really rate NO stars.

This facility is absolutely horrendous. The staff do not provide the level of care that their "pre-recording" may lead you to believe that they do. Call bells are not answered for up to 45 minutes plus, they will come into the room, shut off the bell, and walk back out without seeing the reason for it being on in the first place. Dietary staff marvels in giving patients with food allergies all the meals with aforementioned allergy in the meal itself (talking to the staff about issue was absolutely of no use). I would not recommend such a place if you care about your family!!!!!

I had a sister-in-law stay there for quite awhile and also have an Aunt there for about 4 years now . I witnessed a aide hit her foot about 3 times before they got her to bed by that lift. She also is dehydrated alot. So often there is no water in her room or cup. .Dont think they are very caring there since LECOM took over,, not that they were before either !!!

We had no other choice, we had to take our loved one to this facility. Of course when you first get there they are all eager to help, but what happens after you leave your loved one in there care, who are suppose to be professional and someone you can trust. I think they just have to many patients per aid and so they do not take the time to try to understand the patients needs and Our loved one could talk, but sometimes was a little confused but if you just take a minute to listen and give them a chance you could communicate. There are some Good aides and nurses there but the bad ones outweigh the good ones also and I would never recommend that place to anyone. My family member was always afraid of us making an issue of anything because the staff would get mad now that a shame. What happen to the compassion, love and caring!!!

After reading the reviews and hearing from a friend who had a family member there a few years ago, I was very apprehensive when a family member was placed there. I am hyper critical and am familiar with the medical system so went in with my antennas up. The care has been excellent. My only concern was that an elevated toilet seat was not provided but once I verbalized that it was taken care of. Staff seem to know their patients. They also seem to be happy. I understand that there were major changes in administration in the fall of 2013 and their work has paid off. Although the building is old, and 4 people have to share a bathroom there are a lot of nice touches. Bird feeders are outside a lot of the rooms and the courtyard is well cared for. There are a lot of activities from which to choose. If your loved one wants a snack, it has to be requested from the dietician. The only reason I wouldn't want to be a patient there is the lack of private rooms

My brother got excellent care there and we were very happy with his care. Couldn't have asked for better treatment or caring people. Amazing!

My Aunt has been there for (10) months and she is always crying to me saying that no-one ever comes in to check on her, she hardly ever eats, the supervisors are very mean to her telling her to shut up her whining, because she complains about not being taken care of properly,, such as bathing her, feeding her, checking on her. Basically, my Aunt is left for dead while they take her money and her two homes. These people do NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANY OF THE PATIENTS THERE. PLEASE DON'T BE FOOLED. They are all about the money there. They literally treat their nursing staff like crap! I personally witnessed such on many occasions. There are some very GOOD NURSES, just a few, that truly care about the patients. But the supervisors and nursing staff won't allow the REAL Nurses to do their jobs. Your loved ones go unattended for days weeks, they have all types of infectious diseases, and the nurses report it to the proper staff members, and the staff members inform they to "shut up, mind your business, if asked say they came here like such", or lose your jobs. This place is a "CESSPOOL" AT BEST. THE REAL NURSES ARE UNDER PAID, NOT ALLOWED TO DO THEIR JOBS PROPERLY, NOT APPRECIATED. This place is understaffed and crowded with yours and my loved ones, whom need adequate medical treatments. If you truly love your loved ones, friends, relatives, then by all means, PLEASE I BEG YOU TO STAY AWAY AND NOT LET THEM BE ONE OF YOUR CHOICES.... Patients are (always) dying at this place. There needs to be a thorough investigation of this "institution"!!!! Thank you for reading.

I feel as though this place is mediocre at best. It is the only nursing home in the area that specializes in trachea-related care. My dear friend was placed their because no one else would take him for his care. There are a few good staff but mostly he is ignored. He can not communicate his desires and they do not take the time to understand his body language. When he was being transferred to the nursing home we purchased new clothes and materials for him. Two months later and he no longer had ANY clothes and they were no where to be found. When asked the nurses did not even know who the person was that I was referring to! HOWEVER, if there is a problem they are quick to take care of the medical issue. Which is important but this is a persons life and permanent placement. Staff needs less patients and more available time to communicate with the people they care for.
