I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Left my mother in a wheelchair for 4 hours because the nurse’s time was done and left for the day. Scheduled an appointment but never told any one time or where it was. Scheduled an doctors appointment at PA Medical Orthopedic, never got a ride for mother, never cancelled with the Orthopedic center, never cancelled with me and I had to to find out for all this by me calling the Senior center about all this. I had to call the Orthopedic center had them to cancel appointment and have them change from NO SHOW.

I am/was a resident of this facility

A couple of the nursing staff were rude and demeaning. In addition, they talked about residents behind their backs, but in the hallway where anyone could hear. When this behavior was reported, an excuse was given that they were very busy and had too many residents to check on. They were not admonished nor given training in kindness.

Where do I begin!! Administrator is not fit for the job. She lies, threatens, hangs up on phone calls, The best thing about this place is the activities. Not nearly enough of staff, I have seen many residents who need to use bathroom and they wait forever to take them. Rooms are clean. I have seen many of the residents food especially if they cannot feed themselves sit a long time, then eventually pulled away without much effort to feed them. Again goes back to too many residents and short staffing.

same old place as before

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We were assured that things have changed at this facility as a family member was a previous patient and recently re-admitted under new ownership. What an absolute joke! The communication between the different Cambria Care departments (admission, Insurance, social services) is non existent. They will ask for documentation then say they don't need it. Then ask for insurance cards already provided and on and on. The nurses seem to care but the administration needs to go! Be prepared to move your family member as the care timeline constantly changes. It's sad that the elderly have such few options. Not Happy!!

Awesome facility. The nurses gave my father the outmost care . Very passionate people. I would highly recommend this facility.

I want to apologize if I offended anyone during the short stay that my mother had. The staff from nurses to housekeeping were so kind and concerned. This is a hard and difficult job. The fact that they were so short staffed did not hinder my mothers care. Physical and Occupational therapist were very kind as well. I am glad to have my mother home. As they say "no place like home." Thank you everyone.

Cambria care was wonderful and great. The occupational and physical therapy was good; she was just not happy being out of the home. The rooms were spacious, the nursing staff was excellent, and everybody was very accommodating to her. The food was good, and they had a laundry facility. The price was good -- $155 a day -- and I think it’s a good price.

We had to place our brother at Cambria Care and we are so happy for the care and staff. The staff have gone our of their way to meet his needs no matter what we have ask. His room is large and the floor that he is on is very clean and quiet. No matter what time we arrive the staff from the front desk, fiscal, ward, nursing, case manager, admitting, activities, housekeeping and maintainence have been wonderful. We are very pleased.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My dad is in a nursing home. We have had lots of problems ever since he got real sick. he has MS and we can't seem to find a nursing home that is even decent (with their care). How do you know if it's a good one or not? He's in the third one. I'm a nursing student so when I'm there I watch them very closely. They don't do anything they way I was taught. They are rough when they move him around. They don't give him water through his feeding tube. They don't change him when he uses the bathroom for very long periods of time. Today they told us he needs a blood transfusion but wouldn't tell my sister why. They just said the lab reports said he needed it which is not good enough for me. They said they have to wait until the hospital isn't so full to get it done.My grandfather was in a recovery/nursing home type of hospital and we often visited him and came in to find him gasping for air cause his air mask had fallen of or was unplugged, or the hose just slipped of. We often saved his life by getting there just in time. Obviously we couldn't be there 24/7 and I think that's what lead to his death. We got there he wasn't at his bed anymore and no one had told us or called us to tell us he had had a problem and they took him to the hospital via ambulance. I can't beleive I didn't just sleep there in his room with him he'd still be here. All the things I saw done wrong and I did nothing. Yes, they do treat them like crap, even with the family there. I'd say they do something wrong report it, and look for another or I don't know how bad he is, maybe you can get help to hire a private nurse.
