These caregivers are top notch. I really believe they love my Mom because of the care she is receiving. They all pitch in to care for her. It is a beautiful thing in this detached world of ours. They are our cherished friends as a result of my Mom’s residency.

To start with, you don't get a direct phone line and the operator is almost never there or don't answer the switchboard. When she does, she sends you to the wrong room/bed. You also don't always get a meal, not that you are missing much as the quality is poor at best. If you ask every nurse for a cup of water or other drink it could be hours before you get it. One nurse was outstanding, but the rest have no compassion or attentiveness. Trying to get your medication is another problem too. Lastly, they need to invest some money in the rooms as it looks like they are from the 70s.

Horrible place lthey leave elderly for hours when they place their light on in filth and cold don't assist with multiple times this has occurred. Bring food trays down and leave don't help with cutting food for patients with a stroke which only has use of 1 arm. I would love them to be in the position and how would they feel if it was them. When family members have to call up there because no one will come to help them is completely wrong. This place dated and needs people who have compassion. Not employees who disappear for hours and ignore call light people yelling and tvs blarring to get help. What are they doing sleeping /napping. Better yet this place needs to be shut down. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The rooms are old dated nothing new. I don't see how they have lasted.

Residents complain of nursing aides not being attentive to the residents and not answering call lights in an reasonable time leaving pts miserable in their own filth for hours and also nursing aides take other patients stuff for the use for other patients. The residents are afraid to complain to anybody higher up cause they are afraid that they will get kicked out. I understand working in a nursing is hard and stressful but you also need to have a heart for these older people because they depend on your compassion towards them and there at westhills the nursing aides do not have any compassion for the elderly. I think since management changed they need to look at. Changing alot of the cna staff and get more compassionate obes.

Loss of Possessions - Our relative passed away and all of her belongings were some how lost. There didn't seem to be any checklist made as her items were packed up after her death. Please don't have anything valuable or of sentimental value at West Hills Rehab. They would only reimburse monetarily if we had receipts. Hoping that they improve this situation and use checklist when packing up a loved ones possessions after they pass.

Absolutely terrible please stay way! This is a loved ones 3 visit as need help with medical assistance. The business office was absolutely terrible and refused to help us with medical assistance when more than qualified for help. The person to help apply was only ready to help once a week and the others who help are to busy texting on their phone! Prior visits in December 2018 all was taken care now we can’t get a phone call call back?! Administration refused to speak with me at all. Please bring back the staff in late 2017?! What happened to West Hills?!

Care here is terrible. My father is there and had an appointment. It was 20 degrees out. They did not put a coat, hat, gloves or even a blanket on him. His shirt was wet and dirty and wasn't even his. Pants were dirty, no socks. All of his clothes seem to go missing too. Then at the appt, they just left him alone and he can't be left alone. he gets very confused and will try to get out of wheelchair and fall. I'm sure he hasn't had a shower or bed bath since he's been there. they will not cut nails, shave or even put on lotion. Place is run down too. Rooms are old and dirty and need a lot of repairs. We are transferring my dad somewhere else asap. They also keep trying to discharge him back home but clearly he is not ready, even the doctors said so.

While I feel the staff were very nice, this facility needs to be desperately renovated. I find the rooms to be dismal at best. Even the newer section has the ugliest color bed spread. The older section of the facility is so outdated and decrepit. The furniture is a mess and looks like it has been there for over 50 years. Our environment is a big part of recovery and I am not sure how someone could not be depressed here based on the ugly surroundings. Also the smell in the hallways is unacceptable. You can't even breathe through your nose. That is how bad it is. I think the rehab personnel are very good. It is just a shame that the actual living environment is awful.

I am the family member of a long term care family member that has recently passed. See passed away with her extended family West Hills Health & Rehab Staff. These staff members that she grew to love and respect as she resided many years their. I never worried about her and the staff always kept us informed when we called in or came to visit. Everyone truly cared about her and made sure that every day was a good day for her. Our family is grateful to west hills for taking excellent care of her. I would highly recommend this facility for your family.

I cannot say enough good about West Hills Health & Rehab. I was recently a patient for rehab and want to thank them for getting me back in my feet so quickly. The therapists were excellent and the nursing staff was awesome. The food was good as well. I can honestly say my say there was just perfect. I should mention that my mother spent over 6 years at west hills until she past away. Again I cannot thank them enough for her care. I never worried and my mom was very happy. Great job west hills staff

My family member was admitted to rehab unit, we cannot believe how fast the rehab staff and nursing stay got our family member back on his feet. Not only do they care about the patients they go above and beyond to make sure you get all that you need. The building was clean and comfortable and easy to get in and out. We cannot day enough good about the care provided at west hills health and rehab. Thank you

My uncle has been a resident of West Hills for 5 years since he had a stroke. I have found West Hills a very well managed and staffed nursing home. My uncle has received excellent care and rehab services. His room and clothes are always clean. There is no smell when you walk into the facility. The nursing staff and aids know my uncle by name and always tell me how he is doing when I arrive for a visit. I attend the 90 day Care Conferences with representatives from each area of West Hills. At the Care Conferences we go over his current condition, his medications, activities he has attended, his physical therapy status, and they answer questions I may have. I would recommend West Hills to anyone needing nursing home care.

My father is a current resident at West Hills Health & Rehab. He has been living in the long term care side for 7 months. I live 2 hours away from my father so I cannot be with him as much as I would like. The nursing staff and aids care for my dad as if he was a family member. In this day and age it is truly hard to find. I appreciate Social Services and the business office helping make the transition to long term care easy. Making the choice to place my dad was extremely difficult and the girls answered all my questions and returned all of my many calls. The building is nice and clean and when you walk into the doors there is a large dining room where you will always see family members and staff interacting or doin an activity. My dad loves bingo and he really enjoys the men’s luncheon. I recommend West Hills for any loved family member facing a hard decision.

I strongly recommend choosing another facility for your loved one. This facility is unsafe, understaffed, employees are disgruntled, the care is very poor, and the administration and social workers are entirely non-existent and do not communicate with family members about serious injuries that occur to their loved ones during their stay.

This is a long "overdue" review for West Hills Health & Rehab Therapy Dept. from back in 2014 when both my Husband & Father were in this Facility at the same time. The Care & Compassion towards both loved ones were outstanding. Both men had many hurdles to overcome in their recovery and the PT & OT Therapists got them through each of their individual challenges they faced. I would highly recommend this Facility to anyone needing Skilled or Long Term Nursing. Thank you for your care!

My mother is in West Hills Health and Rehab, and it's been very good. They have been very helpful, and their therapy is very good. It's very well organized. The staff is very caring and helpful. I know they are short staffed over there, but they do the best that they can. My mother just eats in her room but enjoys the food. She hasn't had any complaints. They are very good. It's an older place, but it's clean.

West Hills Health was recommended by my mom's doctor. It's clean, the staff was nice, friendly, and attentive.
