I was sent here short term, the rooms are nice size and serve there purpose. I found the staff to be very friendly and respectful they also addressed all my medical needs. As for physical therapy they have a great staff there as well they told me everything that needed done and didn’t waste any time getting started. As for the meals I enjoyed them as well, even the big Boss interacts with the residents and will help if you need something. Whit all that being said I gave a high rating that I thought was well deserved of the place.

My 83 year old mother was there for rehab for severe neuropathy. She did not improve at all after 3 weeks. What did they do? Discharged her. The most DISGUSTING and ABHORRENT part was the way they released her. She sat in a wheelchair for 6 HOURS to be transported home. I could not get one person to talk to me because they don’t answer the phones. AND THEN the horror begins... They had her driven home in their maintenance van!!!!! Could not get her into the house because of the steps they were told about. I had to call 911 to rescue her. Seems this is their procedure because I was dismissed and received no kind of apology. They exist to care for our loved ones!!! SHUT THAT PLACE DOWN.

We do not like Jefferson Hills Manor. The facility is terrible. It's extremely old. The shower situation is very old. It is a very bad place for elderly senior people. There's no comfort there, that's why we're trying to get my mom out of there as quick as possible. She's on the rehab floor right now. She did just bingo. She's there on Medicare right now. I suggest they put a little bit more money and care into the facility to make it more comfortable for the seniors and to keep it clean. It's surely in need of updating, cleaning, and repair.

The place has an unclean odor. No one answered phone all day . There are no bed rails on my fathers bed. His meds were not given on time. How ever the staff was very friendly even though it took them forever to take care of my fathers needs . He said the food is delicious

I didn't even want to give this place one star but I had no choice if I wanted to comment. I would never leave a loved here under any circumstances. It smells of urine, the hallways are congested, the rooms are dull, dismal and crowded. My thoughts ran to fire and how everyone would escape if there was one. The staff that I encountered was nice however the facility showed me nothing.

Nurses are kind, intelligent and compassionate as if caring for their own family. When you have to be "away from home" it is so important.

NOT WORTH ONE STAR! Do not and I repeat do not send your loved one here. They missed meds, didnt support my father to get to the bathroom who is a fall risk. The rooms are dirty. He doesnt have hair but there were wads of hair on his floor. He drawer was rotting, the walls had holes, the bulletin boards were all damaged, the clock didnt stay on the wall.TV didnt work. They pulled the wrong chart for my dad. Fought with my mom that they cant cant tell her anything because she wasnt the POA whose name is Francis... we dont know a Francis. They didnt get the guy next door one that has been asking for days. They are rude and inconsiderate. They took their sweet time getting his transfer and didnt put it in when requested. They tried to convince my mom to stay...even then made every excuse why he they couldnt transport him to the new facility once approved. My mom had to drive him. They dont answer room calls in timely fashion. They lied to me about state mandates. THIS WAS ALL DURING MY FATHERS sSTAY there that was about 36 HOURS! This place needs closed down

Every time I am there, they are consistently cleaning the floors. I have never noticed a urine smell anywhere in the facility. The food is very good from what I have sampled from my husbands plate. The biggest meal would be lunch, which is a cooked meal. I had seen that a dinner plate consisted of a sandwich and some sides. I did notice that it does take them a while to get to you when you put your light on. They are short staffed as one aid is not there due to a family medical emergency. They do allow smoking there if you smoke. they have smoking times and put everyone's cigarettes in a box and when it is smoking times they take the box outside then pass two smokes around to each resident. When I am there, I do take my loved one out to smoke myself. So I keep a pack on me at all times. The aids that I dealt with were very nice and helpful. Trying to find one when you need them is kinda hard. But when you do, they help. Don't forget, they are short staffed. What I don't like about that place, is they lose your clothes. What ever you do, keep your clothes in your room and take them home to wash them. I had signs up all over the room and they still lost the clothes. put your name in the clothes. If your on pain pills you MUST ask for them. If your family member has a bad memory or doesn't know to ask, they won't get them. I always have to ask for them to get a pain pill. I feel if they are prescribed pain pills they should get them with out asking. My husband hurt all the time. He always complained to me, he hurts. So physical therapy was hard for him. The place is not decked to the hills. It is a nursing home. Bathrooms and beds are out dated. The beds are hard as a brick. I know I wouldn't like them or at least my husbands was very hard. I would have a problem with the bed.

I Pamela have been in Jefferson Hills Manor nursing home for for 3 and a half weeks. In the past I have been in 2 other nursing homes in Greene County and no other nursing home was as excellently clean as this one at Jefferson Hills Manor. When I walked in other nursing homes right away the smell hit me with dirty stinky diaper smells. At Jefferson Hills Manor there has never been a bad smell. The floors are all mopped constantly by the housekeepers. The food was the best ever and better than the other nursing homes I was at. The staff comes right away when I put my light on in my room and never get frustrated with me and I call for them a lot. They are very kind to me. When I arrived the weather was warm and now it is much colder and the laundry people gave me a nice warm sweater to wear home. I recommend this facility to everyone who needs a place to go. The office people never pressured me into staying and helped me get home and their prime concern was my health. If I ever had to come back to a nursing home it would be this one Jefferson Hills Manor.

I hesitate to even give one star to this facility because of the poor care there. The place is very hot and spells terribly. The nursing staff works very long hours which I cannot believe is allowed by law. My parent was poorly taken care of and ended up in the hospital. If you have any other choices, please go elsewhere. Thank you.

I was not pleased at all with Jefferson Hills Manor. When I walked in, the smell of urine was too prevalent for me. The rooms smelled of urine. The workers were arrogant. I saw the occupational therapy and the physical therapy rooms.

Friend has been here for a while. Stay away. You need to do better for family or friends. Patients are afraid to voice opinions or ask for help, food is awful and Physical Therapy is a joke for long term patients. Check it out unannounced and you will see the staff to patient ratio does not for State requirements. Do your loved ones a favor and check closely and pass before you leave them here.

My mother's friend was in this place for 4 days. She died in that place. I know this lady was very sick but her last four days of her life she was scared to death. She froze in fear whenever her room mate was crying because she was being yelled at. by a nurse's assistant. My mother's friend said that this lady had to beg for a glass of ice. She was not able to eat anything and drank very little. The noise was horrible. This lady who was dying had to be put in front of the very loud nursing station and she felt that she was on displayed as her body was visible for everybody to see. Plus their was construction going on in the room next to hers or two doors down. The dear lady just wanted quite. The last words to her daughter over the phone were, "I can't deal with this noise anymore. I just want to be left alone." Her son, daughter, friends, cousin, and I all tried over and over to get a hold of ALL THREE nurses stations prior to the morning she died. NO ONE PICK UP the phone. If one person would have picked up the phone - maybe she would not have died alone. Granted she was a sick lady. I just hope that the nurse's station phone was on mute. Every so often - just for the heck of it - I still try to call the three nurses stations. Only ONCE did anybody pick u.

Had to beg for a shower, lied to by administration, med errors, abusive patients wandering into my room. Absolutely a horrible, depressing place. Hoping they will be fined or closed by the state.

My mother had stayed at Jefferson Hills Manor. Everything was really good. The physical therapy was the biggest reason she was there. She got in and out in a timely manner, and she had great walking improvement from what she was when she first went in. She was only there for almost a month, and she went from not walking to being able to walk pretty good. She ate in her room most of the time.

My aunt was at Jefferson Hills Manor. If I had to put somebody else in there, I wouldn't. I don't like them, and the food is horrible. It's not a very good place to put somebody. She complained that the food was terrible. One day for dinner, she only had a bologna sandwich.

The environment is good at Jefferson Hills Manor. It is covered by Medicare and Medicaid. But I had problems with staff because my mother has Alzheimer's, and they transferred her to three different rooms which made her confuse. She just had her hip broken and replaced. She used to be in a very small room with one bathroom in the entire floor. But now, she is in a larger room with a small bathroom.

would not send anyone here, i was there for rehab, the physical therapy department was great, aids were all helpful and friendly, food was ok. however they work on the bear minimum, the nurses are less than helpful and play kid games talk behind your back. the adminstration is forever changing doesnt seem like anyone is in charge, if you want to fall, get the wrong meds, have a cup of tea sitting in your room for a week, wait an hour for the call bell. get sent home within a half hour of knowing with no instructions other than a home health care nurse will call u, maybe a week later. I had to fend for myself they refused to help me once discharged, with getting my meds, breathing machine, therapy at home, all things should have been taken care of before leaving, threw me out with no plans set. I called asking where to turn for help and they said not my problem your out of here. Only helped after i threated to report them to the state. then they lied to the home health they had set up for me saying i refused my therapy and i was up walking on my own , when i walked one time 10 steps with a walker and i was gone. even said i didnt need a walker had to fight for everything, hook so many extra weeks to get back on my feet. very poor !!

I was a resident in this facility two (2) times in the last two (2) years. The first time was in 2010 and I had back surgery with a spinal fusion. The second time was in 2011 when I had a total knee replacement. The rooms were always clean and when I put on my call light the staff was quick to answer (even if they were unable to come into my room immediately) I was told someone would be in as soon as they possibly could. Everyone I encountered was pleasant and helpful. They meals were brought into my room as I could not walk into the dining room in the beginning. The meals were tasty and warm to hot, but not too hot. The physical therapy department was newly built prior to my arrival and the therapist initally came to my room to teach me how to get out of bed, and later on helped me get dressed to go down to the actual pt gym.The therapy was top of the line and the therapists were excellent, pleasant and helpful. They also made you work hard to accomplish your goals.I spent approximately 3 weeks during each stay and when I left I was able to function on my own without assistance. I would recommend this facility for anyone who needs rehab after surgery. As a RN in my professional life, I would grade Jefferson Hills with an A+.
