I'm on the waiting list for the Valley View Retirement Community. It was a very good tour experience. The staff was very informative and very nice. I liked it. It's very nice. I think the cottages are adequate as far as size goes, and they're very nice. I ate there, and it's very good. It was off the beaten path. You have to drive a distance to get to things. They do lawn care, snow removal, and repair anything inside (or replace it). My father is at the assisted living side, and I think they do a good job. They have bingo, singing, and church. He has a little apartment, and it's very nice. It's well kept, and it's very nice. They answer calls quickly, and they're very attentive.

We toured Valley View Retirement Community, and it was excellent. It was an upscale facility. We looked at the cottages and it's like a 1-bedroom apartment with a 1-car garage. They looked very nice. When you buy, you are guaranteed a place for assisted living and the nursing home side even though you start in independent living. I saw their dining area and it looked like an upscale restaurant. There are tablecloths on the tables with dressings on them. The meals are delivered right where they sit. They have a large basement room just for activities. They do quilting, crafts, painting, and all kinds of stuff.

I toured Valley View Retirement Community. It is just a great rural setting. It's a nice place. The staff were very knowledgeable and treated me with a lot of respect. I've never used their amenities, but I know they have barber care, nursing care, activities, and exercise rooms. They have pretty much all that stuff.

We visited Valley View Retirement Community and the staff member wasn't that friendly. She told us we were only going to be there for three years: one year in assisted living and two years in the nursing home, and that's not a good thing, hearing you're going to die in three years. She showed us one of the rooms, and it was nice. A woman came in with dirty clothes, but I didn't know if she was a patient or not. They have movies, and I think they have bingo, and a snack bar.

We have placed my husband’s mother in Valley View Retirement Community. She has only been there a few weeks. It’s further away from us but the cost was about $3,000 less a month than the places around the area where we live. It’s more rural but aside from that, the people were very caring and very personable; the place is extremely clean and everyone appeared to be really well cared for. They had very professional staff on hand. They had the doctor come in and look at her right away and evaluate her. They have physical therapist and occupational therapist come in and evaluate her and set her off with a program so they were very proactive about her care. The place looks like home; it doesn’t look like a sterile hospital environment even though they could provide all the services of a hospital. You felt like it was a comfortable home so we liked the feel and the looks of it. We like the people, professionalism, just everything about the place. Getting her in a place like that for less money was a bonus. I would definitely recommend this place.

My mom is doing very well at Valley View. The staff is excellent. Our only complaint would be the food, it's terrible. They do have activities, they're adequate, I've only attended a few of them with my mother and the girl seemed to be doing a good job.
