I take my wife down to a daycare in Valley Care Adult Day Services - Ambridge. It's open from 6:00 in the morning until 5:30 at night. It's very reasonable. It's only like $62 dollars a day and you can do it by the day. It's not like you sign any long-term contract. They're giving them continental breakfast and they're giving them lunch from the hospital. So far, she seems to be OK with it. The staff members are all very nice. It's very clean. They have puzzles and bingo and stuff like that.

Valley Care has been a wonderful, caring place for my husband. He really enjoys getting out everyday. Kim, our bus driver has been wonderful and has taken great care of him keeping him safe. I just wish we would of found them sooner.

I have volunteered at this Day Care for almost two years and look forward to it every time. It is a WONDERFUL place, made so both by the staff, the activities and the participants themselves. There is much love both given and received every day. Of course there are problems and crises to be worked through as there are in all places of work and service but I very highly recommend this very special place.

They have refused to accept my 89-year old husband, who has a form of dementia, into the program after only seeing him for about 20 minutes stating they think he would be too disruptive. However, upon my visitation with him with me, they gave me the doctor assessment papers to be signed by my husband's primary care physician along with having a TB test, which I did. Upon calling them to see what my next step is, I received a return call stating they weren't willing to accept him. Why didn't they just tell me that on that intial visit instead of my going through the unnecessary doctor visit that I made?
Provider Response
Thank you for your feedback. There were many factors affecting our decision to deny enrollment in this case. It’s not a decision we take lightly, and such decisions to deny enrollment are rare. In cases in which enrollment is denied, it is based on our desire to ensure the safety of our other participants, many of whom are frail older adults. If you have any additional questions or concerns you'd like to discuss with us, please do get back in touch with our office directly. Thank you!
