My mom is now at Celebration Villa of Allison Park. It seems to be a pretty nice place. She's only been there for a week and a half, but so far as I've seen, things seem to be nice. The people that work there that I've come across have all been nice, helpful, and friendly. My mom's room is clean. It's exactly what she needs. It's not too huge, which is good. It's a nice little place. They have a standard dining area. It's like everywhere else I've ever seen. It's a nice little area, and it's very wide open. They have an events coordinator. They have multiple events that go on. They have church on Sundays, they have various classes every week, and they have bingo. It seems like they try to keep my mom fairly busy, which is good.

Celebration Villa of Allison Park is very organized and very clean. I don't know if I found anything I didn't like. I didn't meet the staff other than the manager that showed me around, and he was good. I guess it was just the time that I showed up. They were probably all busy with folks and stuff. Everything there was nice. I think in the middle is a courtyard, which is very nice. The place was very clean. I had no qualms about that at all. You could get there fairly easily for anything that you need. You're not far from Route 8, you're not far from McKnight or 19. I think it's quite handy, and I think it is in a good location.

I did a tour of Celebration Villa of Allison Park. I could see that it had been updated. I met for quite some time with the sales manager, but he also maybe the director of the facility. He was very good, answered lots of questions, and took a lot of time with me. The facility is updated. It had good security, and it was clean. The rooms that I saw were well-lit and bright with natural light. The bathrooms seemed large for a person's motor wheelchair. It seemed updated and can accommodate handicaps, at least for the two rooms that I saw. I was pleased with the tour overall, I was impressed. I did get to meet with the chef and the assistant director of nursing. They were welcoming with answering a lot of questions as well. It's a small facility. The dining area seemed modern, kind of a cafeteria, open dining room setting, with several modern tables. It was one large room that was very open, next to the common area where they gather at times for watching movies and things like that. It was very acceptable. A big plus for me was that I was happy with the number of activities that they have planned for the residents. Also, the security was very pleasing to see; they had a good security system for the residents. They wear a necklace that they can alert them when they need assistance. Those were the things that made them able to get around the facility. They have a nice little courtyard that the residents can go out to, and it is wheelchair accessible where they can wheel around. It's a nice setting for them, for their outdoors.

My wife and I toured Celebration Villa of Allison Park. It was a good visit. We thought the place is great. The tour was very thorough. They were very accommodating, answered all the questions that we had, and showed us a complete tour of the community. The community looked to be very well organized, very clean, and well-managed. People looked happy there, and the staff was very friendly. We got some cookies, and they were delicious. The layout was great. It was easy to get around. All the common areas were very well organized and spacious. Everything looked great. The staff was great.

Celebration Villa of Allison Park is all on one level, so there are no stairs and stuff like that. They've got an enclosed court. They have a beauty salon like most of those places do. They have staff nurses, 24-7. They also have a nice dining room, an activities room, and they have a lady on the doors all the time; so that's nice. We had Cindy give us the tour and she did a good job. We talked for quite a while. The other issue for that is it's close by where my brother works, so he can visit whenever he's off work, which is also a big plus. They just replaced the carpet and redid the walls, so they've cleaned it up. It's a big square, is what it is. So, the court in the middle, during the summertime, the only way you can get back out again is to go through the building. So, there's no way you can wander off. It's been around a while, it's fairly clean and stuff like that. It's an older building. It's not perfect, but still pretty nice. People talked and whatnot; they get around and there there's a lot of people who are in wheelchairs. They wheel around and talk to each other. That's good because especially for memory care type issues, we want people to be stimulated. My mom's older sister has been there for a few years, which gives it a good plus too. She's been well taken care of.

It was completely carpeted throughout. Anything that went into the carpet could not be cleaned out, and so there was a general odor that was there. For sanitation purposes, it was easier to maintain cleanliness on a non-carpeted floor versus carpeted floor. However, the size of room and the facility itself was fine. We looked at the activities and the dining room. All of those were OK.

It was very good. The staff seemed fine also. The rooms were adequately equipped. They had different trips out, and they had one movie a night. I would recommend it. It was a ground floor facility set up in a square with open center for springtime. They have cook outs too.

It is close to both my sister and me. We liked the fact that everything is on one floor and that the facility is not too big. The room is a nice size so it is like having a normal living room. My mom is able to have her bed, furniture, and dresser in there. They provided the bed and the wardrobe, so there was a lot of benefit in that. The staff is very nice and very accommodating. Everything has been fine. They had an open house over Christmas, and they had a very nice buffet setup for everybody. They do Wii Bowling and play bingo. They have a social activity where they do coffee and cookies. They have all different things on the activity calendar. The best thing about the place is a toss-up between the facility being in a good location and the quality of care.
