My mom is in Marquis Tualatin. I think the main staff, the well-paid staff, is good. The caregivers sometimes have an issue, and I don't think the food is very good, but we had high hopes when we moved there. She loves the room, and I think the maintenance is good. When they bring new people in, train them better, and they should give more food option choices and make more food.

My father was in Marquis Tualatin for rehab. One of the receptionists was pretty friendly and kind, and one was grumpy and not kind. He was really in bad shape, he mostly went to the dining hall, and did his physical therapy. My dad said the food was mediocre, but it wasn't horrible. The room was small, but it was clean.

The Marquis Tualatin has been the home to my father-in-law for the past year. As a family, we feel dad has been well cared for and loved for by the care givers as well as the Administration.

Marquis Tualatin had too much concrete with very little greenery or flowers. The outside sitting areas were cold. The staff was nice and tried very hard to get us to go there. They often offered to knock a wall through a studio for us to turn it into a two-bedroom. They were very good, but the place itself had a cold feeling to it. The studios were way too small.

My husband admitted to acute rehab following surgery. He needed rest, nutrition, exercise. I kept a journal when the first day, no rest, kept up late, noisy, nurses talking in the hallways, non-work related. Food is high carb low protein and fed a small amount. 4 thin chicken deli slices for dinner, not enough. My husband lost weight while in this place. Food is cold, not hot; one night, dinner didn't arrive till 7:08 in the evening; I know, cause I purposely stayed there to make sure he got his dinner. Come on, not a good way to treat patients. They pushed unneeded meds, high blood pressure and pain med on him; he refused, but they kept trying. His blood pressure is normal, has been, according to our doctor. He didn't need the pain meds, either. My advice, find a safer place for your loved one for their health and physical rehabilitation.

My Mother was here for rehab following Surgery, most of the CNA's who looked after her daily care were great, thank you Linda!! However, the Nursing Managers and staff, not so. I would hesitate to send Mum back here if she needed rehab again. She is 88, has dementia, was sent to a Doctors appointment and dumped there on her own (I had already said that I would be out of town and asked if I needed to arrange for someone to go with her, was told, NO, they would have someone..wrong...) Her twice weekly showers were always being changed and ended up being once a week! not very good. Also, on the day of discharge I was told they would arrange the wheelchair taxi, she ended up with a regular cab, I could have taken her but was told the cab was on its way and I would still have to pay! It was awful.. A lot of lip service and no follow through, also, I think they like to keep Medicare patients there as long as possible despite the Doctors notes..

Marquis Tualatin is a wonderful place. I had a really nice tour at the place, and the people are wonderful. I saw a studio apartment; it was very nice. They have bingo, and they also have field trips. They sometimes go out to the beach and to small casinos. They are just always doing something, which helps me also. Their dining room was beautiful. We didn’t eat there, but what we saw looked great.
