Summerfield Estates is lovely and nice. And it has the membership via the golf course and the swimming pool there, too, which is great. Some of the guests might be interested and it's good that they can do that. Summerfield Estates is a separate building that has apartments in it. They are in the process of repainting them and putting in new carpets and kind of updates in there right now. I had a meal there and it was very nice. I sat with residents who had lived there for seven years, a husband and his wife, and they were very happy. They showed me several apartments, from the alcoves, and studios to the one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms. And they're all very nice. And they update in between residents. Overall, I would say it's good, except for the upheaval of the replacement carpeting and all that kind of thing that was going on. The staff members are all wonderful. I know several of the residents that live there. They've all lived there for years and love it. One of the ladies has lived there for nine years. They have all kinds of activities. They have dancing, book clubs, bingo, exercise, and a movie theater.

I went on a tour of Summerfield Estates Retirement Community. What I liked best about them was the price at the time and their food was decent. What I like least is that it looked like it needed new carpeting and needed updating. The rooms were okay, some were being updated, so they were being a little bit more modern. They had a small weight room, an activity coordinator, access to free laundry, your apartment cleaned once a week, and they all had air conditioning. There were enough activities, though they could have had more. The residents had their choice of being as busy as they wanted to be since stuff and classes is going on during the day. For somebody that doesn't cook, their food was pretty good, it was decent. The portions were good and they don't use salt in their cooking.

The biggest advantage at Summerfield Estates was that I would have all the amenities of the retirement community that I live in now. Our clubhouse is just right on the premises and so I will have access to all of the amenities that we have here, the clubs, the social things, and everything else. The staff was nice, cordial, and helpful. The facility was a little older, but some of the things had been somewhat updated and they were adequate. I could live there myself. The dining area had a nice atmosphere and I happened to know a woman who lives there. I had lunch with her and she enjoyed it. The food wasn't quite as good, but it was plentiful and they have a soup or salad bar as an alternative or you could also have it with your meal. It's kind of built in a square with an opening in the middle that has grass and flowers and things in there. So that's still nice. They have an open space outside, but there's not much surrounding the buildings.

Summerfield Estates was a good facility. It seemed like their level of care was great because the residents all looked happy. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about them. I was shown the large studio apartment, and it looked excellent. They don't provide the towels and linens, but they will change the bed once a week to have them washed. They have transportation, and they have activities everyday. The staff was wonderful and friendly. All the residents and staff know each other by name. You can tell that they genuinely care about each other, and that was very comforting.

Summerfield Estates was very friendly. The residents were very pleased with the activities and the services that they receive. We were well received. The meal that we were served was very good and an adequate amount of food. The apartments that we were shown were very nice. I met with the executive director and I met with at least three staff and they were wonderful. They have games, trips, a walking club, and gardening.

Summerfield Estates is high on our list because it's very nice. It has a pool and golf course privilege. It's quite affordable, so we're kind of leaning towards this place. The rooms were a little too small, but overall, very, very nice for the money. The food was excellent. The staff was very informative.

Summerfield Estates is only independent living. It was pleasant, warm, and welcoming. The room I saw was quite small. The person who assisted me was very warm, informative, and pleasant in interactions with the other residents. The dining area was light, and airy, and open. They have a library and a beauty salon.

We chose Summerfield Estates for my mother because of the atmosphere. We were able to do a tour. The residents don't have to be in their room the whole time. Instead, they're allowed to have meals together and socialize together, and that's an important part for our mother. We were able to afford a one-bedroom apartment, and the pricing fit our budget. Their dining room is still fully functional and all their activities are still happening. We were able to see the calendar of the events, and we saw the dining room, which is right as you walk in the building. We received a full tour of the facility. She likes the food. The staff is very friendly. Right now, they're not allowing visitors in. It's a beautiful facility. She likes the activities she has tried, and she keeps winning in bingo.

My sister has a spacious alcove apartment with a balcony. It’s perfect for one person and affordable for her. Our family was so pleased to be able to get her moved in before the COVID19 quarantine began. The entire staff has bent over backward to help her move go smoothly, even with increasing lockdown restrictions. She is enjoying her apartment, the food and the friendly staff. Our family is so grateful for all the care that she and all the residents are receiving. And we are so appreciative that precautions are in place to ensure her safety and health. She is looking forward to getting to know her neighbors and participating in activities when the lockdown is eased. Our family feels very blessed!

Summerfield Estates is a great place to live. One of the best kept secrets in the Portland area . Reasonably priced, no buy in, excellent location to stores, restaurants, medical offices and hospitals. Very good food. Staff very friendly and helpful. Warm and friendly environment. Clean. Many interesting activities with the added access of the clubhouse and golf course and pool as another amenity. Weekly field trips, inhouse entertainment and movie theater. Residents are like family. Hard to find a more welcoming Independenti living situation anywhere. I love living here. Couldn't be happier.

We found Summerfield Estates for my mother. It looks very good, the people have been friendly, and she likes the meals. I personally would highly recommend Summerfield. She took a nice-sized one-bedroom with a full kitchen, full-size refrigerator, and a microwave. They accept pets and have pet socials every two weeks. They have field trips once a week.

This is a sad place. Management is terrible, the food is terrible and there isn't much to do. Hallways are dirty and the apartments are not kept up.

I wasn’t really impressed with Summerfield Estates. I liked the outside areas and grounds. They have little houses, but it just seemed darker. The rooms weren't as large, and I just didn't care for it as much. The pricing was more reasonable, but they didn't have as many activities. It probably would be enough for some people, but that would depend on how active they want to be. I happen to know somebody who's living there, and she seemed content. The residents seemed happy and content. They have a nice salad bar type thing that people could go, and we ate a nice lunch there.

There is no customer service from majority of the staff save an exceptional few. Most of the desk girls especially during the day are quick to snip and snarl when you make simple requests that are promised to be fullfilled and then they spread gossip and nonsense among residents and other staff so you are then facing odd food shortages during dining service or your plate never seems on time or correctly ordered. Terrible attitudes and disrespectful practices. My money is better spent elsewhere.

I appreciated the amenities at Summerfield Estates, especially the water aerobics. Everybody was very friendly and accommodating. I was disappointed with the apartment because I couldn't have my own oven and cooktop. We had lunch there and everything was copacetic according to my feelings. The dining area was very accommodating, and the food was good.

We chose Summerfield Estates for my mom because of the price they are offering us. My mother had a friend that moved in there and liked it, so it was recommended. It is nicely situated in Tigard. The people are very nice, and their food is excellent. They also have a transportation service that goes in a 10-mile radius, which includes a hospital. It is a good match for my mom.

We looked at Summerfield. The food was good. The room was OK, but it was too small. It had the counterspace in the kitchen, but one room did not have a refrigerator, and I didn’t like that. There just wasn’t enough space.

For Summerfield Estates price they had certain amenities to offer. It was convenient to where our friends were. They offer a lot of services although mom does not take advantage of it. Almost all of them there really likes it. Mom’s accommodation is nice. She has a studio that got a balcony out to a courtyard. It’s very nice, clean, and we have decorated it. It’s her stuff and she likes that. She doesn’t like the bathroom setup, but it works really well. She does get food, as they deliver it to her room. She didn’t really like going down. I do think they accommodate everybody pretty well.

I was impressed with Summerfield Estates for several reasons. First of all, they had many elevators. They were very friendly and were able to offer a studio that they call an alcove, which is a little larger than a studio. They showed me one that was occupied, but the resident was happy to have me see it. I was impressed with how she arranged her furniture. I thought the price was reasonable for what they were offering. It’s in the same area where I currently live, and I have a lot of friends in this area, which is a plus. I would give up the use of my car if I move into a residential home, so I would be able to get a ride to church, for example, and not have to change churches. The facility is within easy walking distance of markets and the bank I use. I have lots of positive things to say about it. The food was good. I was treated extremely cordially by both the residents and the sales manager. I haven’t made a decision yet, but I am sort of leaning in that direction.

We went to Summerfield, which is a bit too far out, but it is doable. It was lovely and decorated nicely as well. We do have a small to medium sized dog, and they thought that they could accommodate it. One thing that we did not like was that there were a few steps. We would prefer no steps. They have continuing care if one of us gets worse; continuing care would be a plus for us. We are not that anxious to get onto somebody's list yet, but we would be fine with Summerfield. The staff was absolutely and totally accommodating. I give them a four since I haven't had a lot of experiences with other places, therefore I cannot give them a five.

My experience with Summerfield Estates retirement community has been anything but positive. Their management team, I believe a married couple, seem to be most interested in PR rather than the true comfort, happiness and health of their residents. While I was visiting their facility one of their residents had an "accident" upon leaving the dining hall after lunch. Instead of calling a qualified carpet cleaning company I had the misfortune to watch one of their unfortunate employees have to clean the "trail" by hand while other residents were still eating just feet away. Disgusting! One would think they would have an electric shampooer for this kind of occurrence. If this is the way they treat their employees just imagine how they treat their residents once they have that signed contract! If the proper authorities were contacted I'm sure they would still find feces embedded in the carpet just outside the dining room and the sitting area in the lobby. Don't be fooled. This is not where you want your loved ones to spend their golden years. The only gold is going into the coffers of whomever owns Summerfield Estates retirement. My humble advise would be to do some well advised research and find a more suitable, healthful and happy home for your parents. I'm sure they did the same for you and they deserve the best in their latter years.

Summerfield was a wonderful experience. Price within my budget. The food was good. Very pleasant décor and wonderful landscaping. Lots of activities. I had a nice get well card from their management team wishing me well. It?s that personal touch but I think it?s true from the heart. My surgery reminded her of the surgery she had had and so she wished me the best. You don?t see that in many businesses but in this, they do. They got that genuine, caring attitude. Summerfield, from the budget standpoint, would be a 5. I plan keeping it in the contention on my top three.

We lived in Summerfield for a year and a half. It was a 55 and older community. They had apartments for renters and they also had homes that people can buy and then they had the estates which was where the assisted living facility is located. There is also a golf course. It was beautiful and everything was well maintained.

When we entered we were greeted by friendly staff. The building was in good repair and surprisingly didn't smell like old people. There is a library area with a fireplace that my grandmother enjoyed sitting in. One of the aspects of Summerfield that my grandmother particularly enjoyed was the meal times. They hire local teens to be servers and she really enjoyed the contact she had with them. The meals were well balanced for everyone with many options for people with different dietary needs. She always raved about the food and would talk about the menu constantly. She also enjoyed her balcony and the view of the nearby golf course and loved having some flowers around her (we had got some flower pots to hang on her railng and she loved them). The whole building is full of nice touches of home that makes the place feel inviting and comforting.
