Bonaventure of Tigard was wonderful. I liked that all the rooms were big and all of them were different from each other. And also, they were beautiful. I like everything about it except that it's way too expensive. The staff members were wonderful. Everything was fabulous.

I have Parkinson’s disease and this place is perfect for me. Luckily, I still live in the Independent side of the facility but the staff keep a close eye out for me. Also, the residents here are so friendly and they too help me along during the day. The food in the dining room has been wonderful over the last year. Our chef is a very caring man who want to do the best for everyone. That’s hard to do with so many different tastes, but he tries. The management view this facility as “our home” and do their best to make us comfortable and safe. My favorite activity is beach ball toss. It keeps me moving and is lots of fun.

My relative moved to Bonaventure of Tigard. You walk in there and you feel like you're at home. They're so warm and inviting and it just makes you feel like family. The upkeep of the place is excellent. The staff just goes over and beyond. They are just magnificent. They have all kinds of activities. The facilities in memory care are different from what would be in assisted living, but they have a rec room, a pool table, they do crafts every day, and they have an exercise room. You just see people milling about, just chit-chatting, visiting each other, and having a splendid time. The dining area is very clean and immaculate. The food is wonderful. I've checked other places and what we're getting for what we're paying for is excellent.

Our mother lived in assisted living here for a number of years (both before and after the commencement of the pandemic). She moved out earlier this year because she required a higher level of care. Generally, the staff were personable, but often not very responsive. There seemed always to be a staffing shortage. The main problem we had during her stay was a lack of communication with us and an ever-changing staff. We went through so many Assisted Living Directors I lost count. I would do a quarterly review with one, and by the time the next review was to occur, that person was gone. Also, due to a constant lack of staffing, the Assisted Living Director was hard to get ahold of because s/he seemed always to be out filling in for the staff on the floors. There was little communication from the facility to us. The facility is quite nice, and we had no complaints about her apartment (although the building and her apartment got pretty dirty during the pandemic; hopefully this has changed). We would avoid eating there with our mother since the food was not very good. My recommendation is not to judge the place by the building and the room, but when considering this place, focus on the staffing turnovers and the willingness / ability of the Directors to reach out and communicate. We were often very frustrated with the facility in that regard. I suggest you talk extensively about this with the Directors when considering assisted living in this facility.

My mother was here for 3 years, after being in assisted living. At first they had good leadership but there was constant turnover at all levels. I never knew who was in charge on any given day. Their Memory care directors weren't there very long, mostly because they were fast tracking out. The staff was untrained and they cut corners in all things. The food was bad. They became totally unreliable. I wrote to the COO at their corporate office and "crickets". Don't send your loved one here.

I like Bonaventure of Tigard. But I didn't choose it because it was a foster home that only fosters five residents. I thought that's a little big for the care that my husband needed. The staff that assisted me during the visit was very pleasant, very friendly, and answered all my questions. Everything seemed to be clean and well-kept. The interior of the rooms was clean. They were empty, but for the needs that I felt that my husband needed, they were very sufficient. They also have a large bathroom.

We went to the Bonaventure of Tigard. We toured the facility and looked at some rooms. It was fine. It was probably second on our list, but they didn't quite have the same level of services. We didn't think that they would have the assistance that my friend needed. It has senior living, assisted living room, and a memory unit; it is a large facility. The assisted living is kind of a separate smaller unit. It was quite nice. If my friend had needed fewer services, he probably would have gone. The staff was very friendly and very nice. They were having dining hours while we were there. The dining area looked like a restaurant. It wasn't a cafeteria situation. The facility seemed fine.

My mom is a resident of Bonaventure of Tigard. There are certain precautions because of COVID, but we have been pretty happy with them. She is on the first floor in a one-bedroom. We had just moved her in there. The community has been great. The staff is wonderful. They have been really supportive, especially with my dad's passing. They didn't push us to move into a smaller unit, but we asked about it. They were certainly accommodating, and they actually helped us with moving her stuff down. They have been really great in trying to get my mom involved in the community. It is sometimes difficult for her to want to come out and meet a lot of people, but the director has been awesome with that. The assistant director is great as well. Everyone that we have encountered has been really wonderful and supportive. My mom seems to like their food. I haven't eaten any of the food there, but she seems to like it just fine. The facility is only like four or four-and-a-half years old, so it is pretty new. It looks good. The room that she is in now is a one-bedroom. It has a pretty good-sized main living area, a little kitchenette, and a big closet. She has a small dining table, a loveseat couch, and a reclining chair. She has a big TV. Also, Mom is big into Christmas, so she actually has a Christmas tree up that we got from Costco. We wanted to make her feel as homey as possible. The activities are just starting up to some extent. Because of COVID, they had to cut back activities for a while. They got a movie theater, they do happy hour a couple of times a week, and they have a gaming room where it has billiards and shuffleboard. They also have a hair salon in the place, which my mom loves. She has used that already. It has been a great experience for us. Everybody has been wonderful. It seems reasonable to me, but this is my first venture into that. We compared it to several other ones, and they seemed pretty competitive. In fact, for the newness of the facility and what you get, I'd say they almost seem like a better value just because some of the places weren't in as good shape and were a little more worn.

For the cost of rent id expect better than what they offer. Very unprofessional, immature staff, disorganized management and the food is terrible.

My mom lived in Bonaventure of Tigard for over 1-1/2 years. She started in independent living, but we had to quickly move her into memory care. I did form friendships with some of the upper level staff, and I felt like they had my back through all the difficulties we had during this season of mom's life. However most of my experience was working with memory care staff. During mom's time a Bonaventure there were several changes of the memory care manager. All of them were qualified and did a good job. There are many amazing people working in memory care who are there because they love to help these people. It's a hard job. I normally checked in on Mom several times a week. The staff there loved her even as she went through some stages of socially unacceptable behavior. They worked with me to help my mom through times where I was clueless on how to proceed. Towards the end of mom's life she fell and broke her hip. This required two stays at the hospital, and about a month at a nursing home, attempting rehabilitation. During this time Bonaventure staff continued checking in on mom. Some staff even came and visited mom in the hospital on their own time, treating mom as if she was a grandparent. We brought mom back to her Bonaventure family for her hospice care. The staff did a wonderful job helping me through this difficult time, and was very accommodating during her last days, as friends and family visited. I'm not giving a five star rating, because this is real life, and nothing is perfect. However, I would highly recommend Bonaventure and their memory care unit in Tigard. I think that if you are willing to work with them through the ups and downs of this difficult time you will have an overall good experience.

We found Bonaventure of Tigard for my wife, and she's in the memory care. When she moved in, they told me to bring her at a certain time, and they would greet us and take charge of everything, but that never happened. It was a traumatic experience for her. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff, but once you move in, they start adding all kinds of costs on. Their agreement means nothing, now I cannot use my own pharmacy, and I have to pay an administration cost of $200, on top of the cost of her medicines. Also, there's nobody to talk to about this. There are various activities during the day, crafts, eye and hand coordination exercises, and that's pretty much it. They get them out of the rooms and not let them sit in there all day. They get three meals a day, and the food is pretty good. They provide laundry service, but you have to pay charges for that, even though it was in the agreement.

This is the best place I've visited. The staff was very friendly. Everyone was involved and I met all of the managers who came and introduced themselves. The food is good, they serve restaurant style and there is a lot of options to choose from since I can be pretty picky with my food. The apartments are fully upgraded. I love the stainless steel appliances and how much closet space there is. Overall my top choice.

My husband is in Bonaventure of Tigard, and it isn't working out. I wouldn't recommend the memory care part to anyone. The care staff is great, but the management is not, and they're not really seeing to his needs. I was in there Tuesday night for a family and friends get-together, and he was in his chair in his room asleep. We went back to get him with the caregiver. We got him out of the chair, and he was soaking wet clear into the chair. She took him in to the bathroom to clean him up, and I was in there. The bathroom smelled so bad that I couldn't barely stand to be in there, and she got him all changed. We went for clean clothes -- which he has a lot of clothes -- and there was one pair of jeans and no shirt. She got a shirt from the dirty clothes to put on him. I've been there when the toilet seat was covered with human waste and asked it to be cleaned up. All they do is complain about him. I know he's a difficult case, and they wanted me and they did for a while, to bring in and pay $25 an hour for a private caregiver for him. First, they had him a caregiver from 6:00 at night to 6:00 in the morning, and after a week, I realized that he sleeps during the night and he never gets up during the night, so I changed it from 6:00 in the evening until 11:00 and the executive director changed it from 6:00 until midnight, and I'm footing the bill. They have a dress-up thing for the women, and they have painting and things like that. When I was there Monday night, I saw pins set up for bowling, but I didn't see anybody participating. I was paying over $7000 a month, then it went down to just under $7000, and when I went in Sunday for an assessment, they practically doubled the price of the care. The actual staff that takes care of the people would be a 3 or 4, but the administration would be a 0. They fed us the night we were there, and the food was adequate. The facility was nice.

We were not too impressed with Bonaventure of Tigard. The salesperson didn't seem to really know much about it. When he took us around, there were no rooms that were available. It just didn't feel very comfortable. The facility was light and cheery, and this lady's apartment that we saw had a cooking facility with a stove, but I know not all rooms all have that.

My mother went to Bonaventure of Tigard. It was assisted care, but she turned out to need more care than they could give her. The facility itself was very nice, and the people were very nice. They had a lot of activities, and I would recommend it for people that can use that level of care.

Bonaventure was very clean; I wouldn’t hesitate to put my brother if he wanted to go to assisted living. The dining area was fine and looked good. The staff that I met was very nice.

Bonaventure was alright, the rooms were good, and it was a nice place and in a nice location. However, they couldn't take my mom because she needed extended care. The staff was nice. The pricing was comparable to the other places.

Bonaventure of Tigard was good, but when we brought her in the first day, nobody showed around, and she missed dinner because nobody came to get her. She didn’t know where she was. She just came out of rehab from breaking her hip, and she didn’t have any idea where she was. They didn’t gave her a bracelet to let anybody know if anything happens, so when she fell, her walker caught of a transition peak between the bathroom and the bedroom and she fell and broke her other hip back in the rehab. The only way anybody heard her is because she was screaming for help. My mother is 92 and no bracelet or anything, so I took her right out of there. It’s a brand new place, and it looks like a hotel, but there is no caring, nothing.

Bonaventure of Tigard is absolutely gorgeous, and they have independent living, assisted living, and memory care. They've got beautiful dining rooms, movie theaters, beauty salons, and just anything and everything you could possibly imagine. There's a little cafe and a library, and the grounds are beautiful. It's really very nice. They're got a hobby room where they can do their art and a room where they can do gardening and build things.

The rooms at Bonaventure were extremely large, and we were quite impressed with the facility. It’s brand new. We did not eat there, though. The price was quite a bargain. They had activities going. You get one meal a day, and they had a complete kitchen with standard steel appliances and granite counter tops. The living room was really big, and there were little patios. I didn’t like the location on Hall Boulevard without any real trees or outdoor areas. If you need assisted care, you have to move to the other end of the building.
