This place is the worse. Very poor attitude by the 'help'. If you need medication forget about it. 4 Wings with TWO total nurses. They lie to you, gossip about other unfortunate inpatients. A girl named Mindy was the worse. I was there for 6 days.Do not use this facility. Djuncan

My brother-in-law spent 6 days there for respite care so we could be gone on a vacation. FIRST - it took the ability 4 business days to get information the doctor that they wanted information from. I checked 2-3 times a day with each as the date to check in was approaching fast. SECOND - I had to stay behind a day from our vacation because of their delay and then was forced to bring him within 2 hrs of finally getting notice the paperwork was in order THIRD - I was not informed not to bring his meds. I brought them all, but they used "their" meds. I didn't get his back and now 4 days later they still can't f'find" what I brought. They have NOT been proactive on helping, returning/caring about what was misplaced on their watch. I will not be using this facility again and will NOT recommend them.

We arrived late and my Mom was put in a storage room with wheel chairs lined up along the walls. There was another patient in the room. We were expecting a private room. The curtains were messed up and it was very dark. We demanded a private room, and later that night received one. My mom broke her neck and was in rehab for 3 weeks. The day we left, they left my mom in the hall for 45 minuets alone. No one saw us off. The rooms are very uninviting, dark and depressing, the TV's are terrible. We had ants at one point. When we made a request...and was told someone would be there soon...sometimes no one ever came. Although friendly the staff was not always very caring, we had one nurse that was even rude. We did have one nurse Anna who went out of her way to help train me in some care giving duties. The food was terrible. People are allowed to smoke in the entry way, so you are walking through smokers when entering. This did not bother me personally, however I believe the smokers should have a more private area to smoke, both for them and guest. I would not recommend Avamere here in King City for anyone, and certainly not for one of my family members ever again.

My husband had stomach surgery while he was at Avamere Rehabilitation of King City where they took his colon and cut it because it had so much pus in it. The rooms were not nice. I told them they had not given him a bath since he had been there, and they had not cleaned his wound. They just took his old gauze, wet it, and put it back. He was bleeding.

My husband is at Avamere Rehab. They do therapy over there for older people and injured people. It is a very nice place. The staff is very nice. They're very good. My husband likes the food. He does like the room, and he is in a room with a roommate, so he is quite happy there for the time being.

My husband is at Avamere for rehab. It is new, beautiful, and well-staffed, but he doesn't like the food. They try to make food that everybody can eat, and most people there can't have salt, can't have sugar, can't have this, can't have that, so what you have left is tasteless; that is my husband's opinion. It is hard to regain your strength if you are not getting food that you will eat. My husband's been there 26 days and he's lost over 5 lbs, so that is not good. Otherwise, it is perfect. So I bring him snacks. He has got a drawer with some cookies that have some nutrition in and treats like that. It is a wonderful facility and for us it is four blocks from home; it's just little things I don't like. Like the food is small portions and not very tasty, and they don't have any physical therapy on Saturdays and Sundays. I think they need a staff that comes in on weekends because my husband is 85, and if he is going to get out of there and have any kind of life, he needs to have physical therapy seven days a week.

Avamere seemed to have a lot of people that were mindful. The staff seemed to be very, very caring, and they love my cousin. We have no complaints in that area, but I think they need to improve their rooms. It should be more personable. I think they should be less drab. There is no color, and there is no life in there other than the people living there.

My father was at Avamere Rehabilitation. He didn't participate in any of the activities that they had there. I felt that it was too clinical. But his needs were met although he's much happier in a home environment versus being in a hospital type of setting. I wouldn't recommend a nursing home unless it's a last ditch effort. It was a little premature on the family's part to begin with.
