Sapphire at Firwood Gardens looked OK. When I was referred there they were not actually giving tours because they're in the process of converting a section of the complex and they were not going to have any vacancies for quite some time, but they took time to give me at least a brief tour. I thought that was somewhat exceptional. I saw a room that was empty and it looked OK.

I've visited Sapphire at Firwood Gardens. The people were really friendly, the place was nice and clean, and the building itself was not rundown. The only thing I didn't like was that where my dad would have been there, he'd have to take an elevator and would have to go all the way outside to smoke. So that wasn't a fit for him. The staff seemed helpful, were nice about showing me around, and answered my questions. It seems like they offer a lot of things that the seniors would need. And they have a side that's memory care, so if they started at assisted living, they can transfer out to memory care, so I like that.

I visited the assisted living. It was a good tour. They have very nice staff, very clean area, and the place was bright and open. It looked like a nice place, I wish they had an opening. They had all sorts of planned activities. There's a girl there doing some crafts, they have a big community room, they have a little bit of everything I think. The person who gave the tour was great, but she didn't show us the memory care. The facilities were very nice, clean, bright and welcoming. The dining room was basically just an open room, and they had a serving bar. It was like a kitchen with an island, though much bigger, and they were serving from there.
