My friend is in there... in the last few days she has received major cuts and bruises on her arm and leg. When I was shocked I went to the desk to say my mom was ok'd an ibuprofen and the chart nurse started going off on me. She came to the room and I said maybe she should go to the ER. She said I'm not allowing her to go to the ER for that!!! I said have you seen the open cuts on her leg, ask she said what cuts on her leg... I pray dear Jesus please close this place down or get someone to save this place and the people.

I give this facility a "two" only because the staff working there for the most part is kind and caring. The place is an older facility, but they have done renovations and decorating to make it more patient friendly. My relative lived at this facility the final months of life. There seemed to be a lot of staff turnover and confusion or avoidance of duties. Two things stick out in my mind; even in retrospect they bother me. The first is the vision I had coming into the (double occupied) room and there was a huge pool of urine under my relative's bed. Staff was in and out and also walking by, but no one acknowledged the urine. A catheter had filled up the bag and it was overflowing. The second thing, and this is huge, is I turned in all my relative's meds to the head nurse. I never saw the narcotic pain pills again. Even though I asked about them, the next day, when my relative was in pain, they "were not in the inventory." I was not strong enough to pursue this issue. Since there is a staff turnover there are a lot of inexperienced, non vetted employees at any one time. Showers are once a week. Food service is probably class C or less quality. I wouldn't want to eat there, and tried to avoid it. It can be smelly sometimes.
