My mother, age 94, has been a long-term patient at Marquis Care Plum Ridge in Klamath Falls for over a year now. She has a broken arm that cannot be surgically repaired and will never heal on its own. I would like to compliment the workers at Plum Ridge for their thoughtfulness and kindness to mom. Whenever I take her for a stroll in her wheelchair anyone we pass in the hall (whether it is a CNA, a maintenance worker, an administrator, a therapist, or an activity director) they take the time to speak to mom and touch her hand and remind her how much they care about her. This means the world to a lady whose world has shrunk to one small bedroom in a care facility. Mom has dementia and does not always remember people’s names, but she always remembers their kind words and their attention. The facility is always clean and well maintained which our family also appreciates. A HUGE “thanks” to all the workers at Plum Ridge! Jan R. and all of Virginia’s grateful family!

My mother was at plum ridge for 13 days after a mini stroke. I was very impressed with all the staff. Everyone was kind and attentive to her needs. Occupational therapist and physical therapist were awesome. Nurses and nurse assistants were excellent. I felt my mom was in very good hands. I have nothing but good things to say about everyone I met that cared for her. She also loved the food. I disagree whole heartedly with the other reviews posted here. It appears to be the same bad review posted over and over again.

My mother had knee surgery, didn't even get a sheet, the first night. Very unprofessional help, they leave them in the rooms for hours, it's hard to get your medication.its terrible I wish klamath falls would get a better place for people to go , God help the ones with no family, I just imagine how they get treated, my mom needed milk of magnisium, I ask twice when I was there, we'll I live in the medford area, I call her she still, didn't get, I called over to plum ridge and said I'm home , and my mom still has not got the milk of magnisium. I really would take her out of there now she seems to be afraid to ask for help . because it causes problems!!!!!!!

My mother recently had knee surgery...The first night there she didn't even get a sheet on her bed. They left her in her wheel chair for over an hour and a half before she received help. She had low blood pressure so the hospital held her blood pressure pill for one night...after she was ok. They refused to give it back with her having a highly elevated bp...she finally called the Dr...and he made sure she was getting it back as was suppose to be scheduled...she did Not tell me this till after the fact because she was afraid of the repercussions of the staff. They asked her if she was trying to make trouble, after she got mad and said something....When I asked the CNA...why it was taking so long to get help to the bathroom etc....he said it was a bad day...I told him she's having a bad day, shes in pain and isn't getting proper care. This place is a dive...the nurse/aids gather in their room while there are lights going off everywhere.. I don't care if your a nurse get off your butt and help your patients..

At first, during the tour visit, the staff was excited to show me around and educate me on how great they were but I came across my own experience at Marquis. The permanent resident halls there are crowded with the elderly, two to a room with a tiny shared bathroom between 4 elderly people. (One housekeeper "touches up" the bathrooms once a day.) Only some of the rooms have windows, there are minimal activities for the residents, and they only have basic cable on their TV's. The worst part is the care. Only 2 head nurses and way too many training nurses assistants who always seemed to be too busy chatting amongst themselves about weekend plans to help the residents. I've seen residents in tears, with no service for hours. And to top it all off, it's the most expensive resident home in the northwest. Klamath Falls is a fairly small town and there aren't a lot of options, but people should defiantly do their own research when it comes to retirement homes.

This facility is one of the cleaner facilities i have visited, with 3 wings and lots of space however, the stay was not so great. As an in and out patient the stay would probably be better but in the residential hall way, its a different ball game. The staff (mainly the nurses aids) are more concerned with planning their weekend or chatting with co-workers, rather than attending to the screaming patient down the hallway. The nurses are great however, there are only 2 nurses per hallway for 50+ guests. So there are not nearly enough of the good ones. The nurses aids do eventually help, well, some of them anyways...but all of the residential guests are extremely unhappy and from personal expierience are only there because of their families inability to let go. most of these people are immobile and are constantly being doped up with pain killers and narcotics to keep them going. All while their families are paying $250/day for them to stay there. Klamath Falls is a fairy small town and you would think the care would be excellent but this is not the case in this facility. The elderly who are placed here are constantly lonely and being ignored and this poses a problem to their health and the health of those around them, especially when someone in an infecious room is being ignored.
