When i came to visit my Aunt i was not sure what to expect. I came about 3:00 pm and was served special treats along with the people who live there. I was very impressed with the staff there. They greeted you with a smile and made you feel very welcome. I watched as the staff interacted with the people that live there and they tended to everyone of their needs. They even made sure by looking for people in the different rooms to make sure everyone had water or juice so they stayed hydrated. I say with the staff i met they get a rate of 10, but this only goes to 5. Thank staff for what you do.

Right now, my husband is at Hawks Ridge. They don't have a nurse seven days a week. They have somebody two days a week. You cannot access anyone until 9:00 in the morning, and after they leave at 5:30. My understanding is the staff is supposed to cover the phone, but they don't. Just last week, the physical therapist was calling me because my husband is doing home health, and so she wanted to come in. (Because they're visiting several different places, they have to set up their schedule). The therapist wanted to make sure if I knew if my husband had other appointments at other places, but she was not able to get through at Hawks Ridge. My husband is pretty routine, and we talk all the time on the phone. He always calls me around 9:00 to just say good night and we visit a little before we go to bed, jut there's no way for me to access him. And I think the night shift, when people are sleeping, they don't go in and check. It concerns me that I can't get a hold of anybody. So that's another big low rating for them. Since my husband has been there for almost two years, we've had four executive directors, and two companies. Some staff are wonderful. But you're always going to find a few that are controversial or less than helpful. Just like with everybody, they need more people. There's a need for improvement. There's a couple of them I would prefer they didn't even go into my husband's room. But there are some stellar people. I can call my husband and say, 'Who's your aide today?' And he'll say , 'I'm going to have a great day today because so-and-so is assigned to my room.' The reason why people are attracted and get distracted at Hawks Ridge is because it looks so beautiful. It's a new building. It's got high ceilings. The dining room is huge and beautiful. So when you walk in and just kind of, 'Ahh. This is gorgeous.' But it's misleading. They got a new activity director, and she's trying really hard. They play Trivial Pursuit, they play bingo, they have a whole cocktail party, and they try to have music. But the new person doesn't really have the connections that the other person had. One of the things that I am extremely disappointed in Hawks Ridge is the connectedness to the family about what goes on. I don't receive phone calls. For example, my husband was hospitalized, and it took a while before they got to me. I'll take responsibility for some of that because my Wi-Fi is not always great. However, I have not been contacted when they were going to evaluate my husband as to whether or not he had to stay in the nursing home or he could come back to his assisted living. And I totally do not trust the person who was doing the evaluation. She came with no paperwork to back up anything she had to say. So communication between the management, the finance people, and the staff and the families is extremely lacking.

The marketing director gave us a tour. It seemed like a nice, warm, and friendly place. The rooms were very nice and pretty up to date. The staff were friendly and caring. They've got lots of activities. They were doing bingo when we went through there, which is common with most of these places. They got a little library and an exercise area with equipment. They have private dining areas if you have groups. It looks like they have a good amount of stuff. So far, everything has been positive.

We liked everything about them. It was a real nice place, but my mom was just beyond what they could handle. She has to have more assistance with everything, but they were really really nice, and we would have liked her to have moved in there. It's a two story building. We saw the dining room, then the bedrooms, and some of the recreation stuff, and it was really well set up. They had entertainment where people would come in, sing, entertain, and such. They also had regular games if they wanted to. We had lunch with Rachel, the lady that showed us around, and she was very nice, as well as the ladies at the desk. The food was really good quality. The place was well lit too. The rooms had big windows, and during the day, they were all lit up real nice just by the sun. It was a topnotch place.

It is a fantastic place to send a loved one, the staff are friendly and nice, Every person from the time I came through the door was warm, smiling and greeted me. I am thankful to call this place "home" for my grandmother. The caregivers are nothing but pure love and kindness & tender hearted. I have been here several times in the past at different hours of the day and the staff have never given me the "cold" shoulder. Food is above average, management team is ready to work on any issue that arises, appropriate, placement and appropriate activities 7 days a week, no matter what likes a person has. This community even does happy hour on Fridays with alcohol and music at most times is what I have heard! A very fun and alive community for anyone looking to move from their home to an assisted living community!

It seems to be quite nice. The amenities seems to be very upscale. The apartments are adequately large. They have road trips, and they bring people in for entertainment. I am very pleased with the place.
