Eugene Abbey is a secure building. Nobody can get in here unless you let the person in. The rooms are nice. There's a variety of them. From studios to one bedroom. They allow small animals, like a little dog, which I have. They take you to the doctor's appointment as long as you let them know ahead of time and they have a nice group of people here. Once a month, all the people meet and talk about what's going on or any suggestions that they have. They have a little stretch class in the mornings and other kinds of little different activities such as a reading group and card games They only clean once a week, which is okay with me. They have a laundry room that's got four washers and four dryers and you have a set time to do your laundry. The food is OK. They have a little kitchenette with a very nice, large-sized refrigerator, so I can keep things that I want to eat, and that works very well for me. They also have a nice breakfast bar that has different types of things. You can have coffee or whatever you want to drink. This building used to be a church a long time ago and then they made it into an independent living facility for seniors. So, the staff is downstairs in a basement area and you have to get used to the elevator in getting to all the different floors. It's five floors and sometimes you go out the elevator one way, sometimes the other way. Everything is carpeted, except in the little area where there's like a kitchen. At the very top, they have a nice solarium where you can just go up and sit. It's very pretty up there. The price is a little high. Especially if you're getting a one-bedroom with one living space. Otherwise, you can get a single room that's cheaper. So you've got a choice as far as cost wise, depending on what's available and what you might want. They have a big green area that's all fenced-in and it was locked up, so if you have a little dog, you can take your dog out there and walk around in the grass. They keep that area very nice. It's got some pretty flowers out there as well.

I highly recommend the Abbey,a charming independent living facility near downtown Eugene that really was once a church. Rooms are comfortable and staff are helpful and friendly. From my window I have a view of the yard and the beautiful English garden below.

My mother spent her last months at the Abbey and she loved the sense of community and caring. She felt immediately welcomed by her neighbors and staff. The kitchen gladly accommodated her dietary needs and the food was very good. Her 3rd floor apartment had a wonderful view and great light and she loved how convenient it was to walk downtown as well as use the bus. If I was looking for a senior independent living situation I would highly recommend the Abbey.

I have moved into Eugene Abbey. It's super. This place is beautiful. It's comfy and homey. The people are friendly. The food is good. The utilities are all paid for including Wifi. There is plenty of kitchen space. It's roomy compared to other places. They have exercise classes and computer classes. Activities are not a whole lot as compared to some other places, but that's alright with me.

My mom was a former resident of Eugene Abbey for 10 years, and she loved the place. Since it’s independent, they provide one meal a day, which is dinner. It’s a 5-star meal with four courses. They also provide house cleaning twice a month.

We placed our parents at Eugene Abbey. It was a Good Samaritan-run place. The staff is nice. We had dinner there, and the food was good. It’s a small place, and it is less than a mile from where I live, so it is very easy for me to stop in and help them with things. The rooms are clean and updated.

I visited Eugene Abbey, and it was the same thing I've seen in other place with very small, narrow hallways. I don’t know how they could ever get furniture in there, let alone what they would do if there was a fire. It was very nice, had very good food, good company, and nice people. I didn’t meet the staff, but they have a beautiful solarium and a computer room. My sister likes it very much.
