I am a patient here and my first impression was it's a older facility. With that being said ALL the staff is so loving and happy with Empathy! They have listened to my concerns & done everything to help me through a difficult time. Of course you get new workers from agencies that aren't familiar with everyone, realistically you will find that everywhere. I can't say enough amazing things about the physical therapy and occupational therapy department. They are Rockstar's. The wound care Nurse's are Stellar and I love them. The Medication Nurse's are amazing. All the Nurses and the CNA's work tails off with a smile despite everything they endure. Admitting and the activity director is so much fun. I have a place to go & I could leave if I wanted unlike many of the residents bless there heart's. I choose to stay because of progress I am making is astounding. Lastly I love the house Doctor, he listens, he is compassionate and very intelligent and I have seen my fair share of Doctors! ❤️❤️All staff here deserves acknowledgement of job well done making a difficult situation the homiest as possible. Thanks Corvallis Manor

They fed my mother a tiny pierce of pizza and a breadstick for her first dinner there. My sister told them she cant eat that shes diabetic. And they said - it's not on her chart, even though they are giving her Metformin daily. They said if she doesn't like the food we could giver her a sandwich. Wish I could post a picture. This place needs new management before someone gets sick or dies.

when my grandmother came to check on my grandpa who is a Vietnam vet 4 tours, in the Corvallis Manor, he was sitting in a soiled diaper with no clothes on. They removed the phone away out of his reach and he is immobile, so he was unable to call his family. When my family came the 2nd time that week, he was in a t-shirt, a soiled depends and again, the telephone and the call button was out of his reach. Again, he is immobile. This is thee most disgusting place for elderly rehabilitation and needs to be observed closely by the state. I will not stop until my grandfather gets moved from this horrid excuse for a rehabilitation. DO BETTER Corvallis Manor.

The reviewers are right who mentioned the problems. I was looking for a facility for my mother after her stroke and was recommended the CM. My husband and I drove by and dropped in to see what it was like and speak to a representative. I was surprised to see how old it is inside, the crowding, the lack of professional staff, many seemed overworked and underprepared, and the facility overall had questionable hygiene. The lady in charge came out and greeted us with a dog that slobbered while we walked through the hallways of the facilities where patients were. It seemed dark and dingy. I could not leave my mother there and prayed for the other patients. This is how we treat our most vulnerable? I had to ask to see where patients shower or bathe. When showed the shared shower I recoiled. No way, this Facility should be cited and closed down. I never write reviews. This is my first. I had to given the current epidemic and to say that the other reviewers are not wrong.

This place should be closed down. Their employees have no pride in the career they’ve chosen. The place is filthy! I went in to see about a place for my husband. Three women standing behind a desk gossiping about one of their boyfriends or husband. I stood there 2-3 minutes and nothing!!! I must have been invisible! Looking around the place was filthy, disorganized and residents were ignored I decided this definitely wasn’t the place for my husband. I wouldn’t put my dog there if I had a dog! Please, please look for alternate care for your loved one. This is NOT the place for a human being!!!

My mom was recently a patient at Corvallis Manor and the accommodations were deplorable! My mom felt completely UNSAFE. Not only was the facility filthy but the nursing staff was incompetent and almost gave my mom the wrong medication which we caught just in time. Upon requesting her PRN pain meds the nurse explained rudely "I'm busy! I'll get to you when I can" which was 2 1/2 hours later. My mom watched as a staff member mopped her bathroom and then proceeded to mop her room with the same dirty mop. We had to request that staff use a gait belt and a walker that was the correct size for safety. The CNA who was to help my mom out of bed and to the bathroom was older and more frail than my mother. This skilled nursing facility should be shut down. We will definitely go to Albany the next time a family member needs care.

I think Corvallis Manor is taking really good care of my mom who is not easy to work with. They accommodate her wishes in wanting a quiet room and they have moved her now three times. I feel like they are really trying to put her at the center of the care, even though they are busy and they have an active patients’ load. I also watch them doing physical therapy with her and they are creative in the kinds of exercises that they use. They are very attentive. I think they do a really good job in caring for her. She is sharing a room. It is clean, spacious, and free from clutter. I always see someone cleaning something every time I am in it in various times of the day. There is no odor or smell. I am a nurse so I am very sensitive to smell urine and there is no smell at all. My mom says the food is fine. It impresses me that the nurses that I talk with, even on the third time that they are moving my mom, they are very gracious. They say “No, she needs to get a goodnight sleep. If it is too much for her, then it is not a problem for us”. Three times is a lot in moving somebody.

Be ware. There are multiple call lights on daily, people needing assistance and nurses too busy relaxing on the job to assist these people. I guess you could stay under staffed. Also they are never clear on when they are discharging a person They give very vague time frames. If this happens to you don't let your loved one stay too long Know that the primary care doctor discharges the patient. The manor will keep them there as long as possible to get all the money they can. Don't get duped like we did

Mom was in Corvallis Manor for a couple of months. She had a really bad infection, and then she couldn't get up and walk. So they were trying to give her physical therapy to get her up and move a little bit. For the most part, the care was good. They really tried, and they worked with her and did whatever they could to help me through the process, so I'm pleased with it. The rooms were very big. She had roommates, a couple of them. There were two beds in each room. It's an older facility, so it's not really up to date, but it was kept clean.

Corvallis Manor is spacious, the grounds are pleasant, and they take care to include services and space for residents with a variety of needs. The facility includes several "bariatric rooms" for morbidly obese residents, easily able to accommodate residents in excess of 400 lb. Several staff members are at least bilingual. They have specialized lifts and tubs available to facilitate safely bathing even residents fully immobilized with contractures. They offer vocational rehabilitation, on-site physical therapy, and dietitian services and specialized meals for residents with unique nutritional needs.Morale down at the CNA level seems to be low. Many CNAs seem only to be there for the paycheck, unconcerned with the residents' wellbeing beyond a minimum standard of care. Motivation and supervision for CNAs is insufficient to ensure their tasks are performed efficiently and properly.Accidents can happen anywhere, and responses to accidents inside the facility are prompt and thorough. A fall or head-bump seems to be treated as a full-scale emergency, because it very well might be, even if most aren't. I have no doubt this reaction urgency has saved lives inside the facility.Cleanliness is good but not perfect. Some areas are slightly dusty, but garbage and laundry are well taken care of, spills are cleaned quickly, and there is no build-up of waste nor fluids, and no mold or mildew that I could see.Overall I would consider Corvallis Manor a fairly good place to live if one must live in a nursing home, but it does have some room for improvement.

I am an elder care provider for a couple in their nineties. The wife took a fall at home and injured her hip. She was sent to Corvallis Manor for physical therapy. My first impression was that the parking situation was poorly arranged anD inadequate. They had very few handicapped spaces (even though spouses coming to see their sick or very elderly mates were bound to be sick or elderly themselves) and the regular spaces were way around the back, making a difficult long walk for seniors. The inside seemed clean and well lit, the amenities were few but adequate. I thought the dining room was very small, and subsequently found out some patients were made to eat in their rooms because there was no room for them in the dining facility. The staff also appeared competent and friendly, I have to say that they answered all of my questions and were very helpful. However, my friend (or elderly person whom I used to give home care to) withered away from her home. Within two weeks she had developed symptoms of heart disorders she never had before, her lucidity slipped away, she lost a significant amount of weight and constantly complained about the food. Also, her intended physical therapy sessions fell by the wayside. Fearing that she might die in there away from her family, her daughter authorized me to remove my "friend" from the nursing home and take her to the family physician she had been seeing for years. The doctor told her that things looked bleak and explained to her that she might not last very much longer. It was a matter of days. Hospice was called, she returned home and family gathered from all over the united states to say their goodbyes. Much to everyone's surprise, after returning home the woman began to make a swift and miraculous recovery. She is no longer at death's doorstep, hospice has been canceled and she is quite ambulatory with a walker. Do I blame Corvallis Manor for the swift onset of deteriorating health? I have to wonder, she was in considerably good shape when she entered, declined awfully rapidly in their care, and is now in fairly good shape for a woman her age. (94)
