I was an exchange student 1975/76. My American “parents “ from then now live at the Brookdale Heritage Plaza in Albany and rented for my husband and I a guest apartment with one bedroom and kitchenette which was very nice, very clean and comfortable. The staff is really friendly, helpful and caring to all living there or visiting. The food is fresh and versatile. Every day there is plenty of activities for the residents so they may choose to be busy or not. To live there feels more than staying in a hotel than in a senior residence. I can highly recommend this place for anyone to live there!

We toured Brookdale Heritage Plaza. The residents and staff were incredibly friendly, very social, lots of good energy when you walked in. The people were active. My mom is 80. She just got a sense that this was someplace where she would be really happy. The apartments are very well-appointed, much larger than most, with kitchens and all of the things that she needed. It was just overall a great experience from the minute we walked in. They offered to come over for a tour and lunch, but we had already had lunch, so we didn't do that. They did give us a full tour of the dining area and the food amenities. They have a library, they have a general store, they have a laundry, and they have exercise equipment in different parts all over the place.

The tour I had with Brookdale Heritage Plaza was very, very good. They did a very good job of showing what they had available. They had plenty of activities and amenities like nice libraries. I wasn't impressed with the outdoor space. It wasn't private, and their apartments weren't as big as what I was looking for.

Brookdale Heritage Plaza was a very nice and clean facility. They had all the amenities. They had a salon and a game room. The staff was very nice and friendly. The studio was nice. It had a kitchenette and a big walk-in shower bathroom. The dining area was very nice. It was set up like a restaurant. Because it's retirement living, not assisted living, there were menus on the table. It looked like you were walking into a restaurant. They had a salon, a library, a little grocery store, a laundry facility, and a room where they could do yoga and chair fitness. It was very well kept. The outside was really pretty. They had giant six feet in diameter pots so that if any of their guests want to garden, they can tend their own garden in these pots, which was really nice.

Brookdale Heritage Plaza seems to be nice. They serve really good food and they're very, very helpful with the residents if they need help. They have a nice dining room. My mom has a one-bedroom with a little kitchenette and it's very nice. Maintenance seems to be good. They have a salon, too.

We toured Brookdale Heritage Plaza. They only had available a one-bedroom, which was too small. We couldn't even get any dresser in with the bed in the bedroom; it wouldn't have worked for us. My husband uses walkers, so certainly no room for them. We ate a meal, and the food was delicious. The manager is a very nice lady. It was clean, except the bathroom we went it (per my husband). Apparently, we just followed somebody in there that had pooped all over the floor and the seat, so he couldn't use it. They were embarrassed about that, but they said they checked them several times a day. Apparently, they need to check them more often. They had a lot of activities that were available. We didn't see anybody doing anything in particular when we were there, but they had game rooms, libraries, and some nice big rooms to do chair exercises, balloon activity, and bean bag activity things. The people we met in the halls were very enthusiastic about them, and they seemed friendly. One drawback there is they're putting in a water line. It horribly messed up the road in front of the big diggers. They were kind enough to help us out and have the big scooper thing moved out of our way, so we could get back out onto a main road. It is going to last another month the staff said. The food was a 5. I had some restrictions, and they made me up a chef's salad; it was great. The staff members were all so friendly. The cook came out and met us. The manager couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. As a matter of fact, she pushed my husband around in his transport chair because he couldn't get up over the threshold. The facility wasn't fancy. They didn't have high ceilings or chandeliers, but it was clean.

Brookdale Heritage Plaza was awesome. The atmosphere was very good. I would have definitely moved my mother there, but they were way overpriced. You have to pay for cable there as well as other utilities. The people were great, very kind, and gracious. The food was very good. They baked a chocolate pie for my mother to take home. They talked about parties, game nights, opportunities to do different things every day, and they take the seniors over to the casino. They even had a spa in there.

I moved into Brookdale Heritage Plaza because I liked the atmosphere and the price was right. The staff is very friendly, very attentive, and very helpful. Theyre always asking if theres something they can help me with. The variety of food is good, the quantity is fine, and if I want more, all I have to do is ask. They seem to have a good selection of activities, Ive read over the schedule, and they just have lots of things to do. They are very reasonable in cost compared to everyone else.

It seems to be expensive and the building is out dated and costing them to much money for what you get. I find that the people are nice and the staff is there to try to make it as nice as possible. But they need more laundry area so those who live there could have better use of it. The rooms are hot in the summer and cold in the winter. I know that there isn't much more they could do but it just isn't homey or inviting.
