Everybody here at Village at Oakwood is very friendly. The workers take pride in what they do. It amazes me how good a place this is. The food is very good. It is not the best, but it's adequate. There are three meals a day and served restaurant-style. You can go any time you want between 7:30 and 5:00 and order breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu is very extensive. I had a tuna sandwich today and that was good. It's like you're in a restaurant and there are many choices that you can choose. They have the usual activities, like bingo and games. They had a preacher come in and horse racing yesterday. They do different things to keep you busy. They also have chair yoga classes three times a week in the morning in the dining room. So, you don't have to get out of your chair, which is good. The staff here is phenomenal. They help you with simple things. I have trouble tying my shoelaces and they come in and they tie my shoelace for me. They help me get into bed because I can't lift my legs. So they help you and they do things for you that you wouldn't expect them to do. When they pass by, they say hello, which to me, is important. They don't ignore you. The facility is kept very clean. When I moved in, the housekeeper came in and introduced herself. She's very good. I haven't seen any messes anywhere or any stains. It's all very neat and clean. I've looked at a lot of places and none of them even came close to what they charged here. It's great.

I toured the Village at Oakwood. Everything was wonderful. Everything was nice, clean, and spacious. They have three meals, a dining room, and your private room. The people were organized. Everything worked wonderfully. I regret that I can't move in. The staff was professional and courteous.

I went to Village at Oakwood. You walk in, you see the desk up in the front and then to the left, you see the dining area. For the price that they offer, I think the room size is pretty good and the services they offer. It's just mainly the location of it. But I really can't complain about that too much. It's not a good side of the neighborhood, but they shouldn't be outside and doing stuff they shouldn't be doing anyways. Other than that, they're nice. They greeted me and went over things real quick and easy. There's plenty of stuff for adults to do. They have a van there to take the adult's places. You're always more than welcome to come and pick up your family members and go do stuff. So it was a good experience. It's just unfortunate that there's a liquor store across the street. It feels very small, like a studio. But from the moment you walk in, you have your kitchen and your living room together, but you have a big bedroom, and it has to be at least more than 12 feet. It has to be bigger than that. At least like 15 by 15. I'm not too sure, but for the space, it was pretty big. They do have a library. They have an extra dining room. Other than that, I didn't see anything outside where they could go like being close to being in danger to the public or vice versa. So there's no place for them to go outside to enjoy unless they have to go out the front door, which kind of depends on how the patient is. If they have memory issues, that's not a good thing.

I will be moving into Village at Oakwood. They told me they would help me with my therapy. The people seemed very friendly there. They put me through a physical exam to see if I could climb stairs in the event of a fire and things like that. I passed all that. I really liked the staff. They seemed very friendly. They have three meals a day. You can have your own snacks in your room. It seemed very clean. I was really impressed with it. When I was touring the place, everybody was very friendly, the people who lived there and the staff, and they were very helpful at the time. The apartment had a front room and a bedroom. You have to bring your own furniture. I had to buy a bed, and I have some front room furniture from where I lived before, so that's not a problem.

I went to Village at Oakwood. I just make too much money. It was kind of bleak. You walk in and there are just places to sit because there's no real lounge area. You turn a corner and there's kind of a small dining area, but it's not really all that comfortable. Then you're taken to a room, and I thought everything kind of had a smell to it. I just really didn't want to live there. The staff showed me a menu that they had, but I wasn't offered to try their food. They did have a place to go during bad weather, and I think that's good. It comes right off a busy street, and it's not a gated community, but as long as somebody doesn't open the door and let people in, I don't think people can get in, but they can if people open up the door for them. It's not quite as safe as the other place. The staff member was just OK. She's not real personable, just matter-of-fact, but she got the job done.

My mother hasn't moved yet, but Village at Oakwood is the one I'm going to put her in. What I like the best is the staff. They were nice. Of course, the facility was nice, too. The downside is my mom likes to walk, and there are not a lot of places outside of the property for an elderly person to walk, so she'll have to walk inside if she wants to walk. I want my mom at Village at Oakwood. The staff members were really informative and nice, and all the staff I met were good. I didn't try their food, but their menu was big. The place was very clean and very neat. The atmosphere was very friendly, open, and happy. All the people there seemed happy. It was good. The room sizes were sufficient. They were good. The one that we looked at gives my mother two rooms, a big bathroom, and a big shower.

The overall tour I had with Village at Oakwood was good. Everybody was very helpful. The place was clean. Their room was a good size for my sister. It would work out just perfectly for her. The residents were friendly and it seemed like they would provide my sister with everything that she would need. Their dining area was open and very warm. People congregated there a lot. Somebody was sitting there eating and talking to people. They had other activities listed for different times of the day. In the morning, we saw the chair yoga there, but they had something else going on at 12 and they had something else going on at 2. I saw a lot of folks outside smoking, but it didn't seem to have a designated smoking area and I think that's because they're not allowed to smoke on the premises. The facility was well kept up, but you could see it was old and kind of dated.

Village at Oakwood was a very clean facility. When I came in, there was a harp player and she was singing Christmas carols. It kind of showed me that they had extra curricular activities for the seniors as well. Even the people, responded to me. The people that were there, seemed happy. They were saying hello and hi to me as I was walking through. I was very satisfied with it, as far as the way I felt about the place. We had to do an interview with the staff there to see if my uncle was qualified to be there, and she was very nice. She was very pleasant and very helpful. She guided him very well. To be honest, the whole experience was great. The floors looked well. I didn't see any trash anywhere. I saw the beauty salon. I also saw a snack area. They could eat any time of the day if they wanted to.

Village at Oakwood was such a nice facility. The atmosphere, the people that work there, we were just very, very impressed. So, we have decided on this place for my brother. There wasn't anything that we didn't like. The facility was extremely clean. The workers there, we met different ones, they were all very nice, and very friendly. The dining room, the apartments, everything, we were just totally impressed. They had a beautician/barber on Mondays. They had a library, and my brother just loves to read. Everything on the food menu was excellent. The lighting and the facility where they served their meals was extremely clean. It was just very nice. There was a private dining area where you could have birthday parties. They had a whirlpool spa area, which was very, very nice. They had a snack area where you could buy your snacks, like a Dr. Pepper or chips, and it was very convenient, too. They would also provide three meals a day.

Village at Oakwood was clean. They had large rooms and all of them were one-bedroom apartments. So, there's plenty of room. For the price, it's a good value for your dollar. The staff and residents were friendly. They had bingo nights, arts and crafts, movie theaters, two libraries, and church services. The menu looked good, too.

I live in Village at Oakwood. It's the best assisted living facility in Oklahoma. I like the locked doors where you have to push the button and report who you are and what do you need there. We got a full sized cafe in this building. I don't have to do a thing except pay my food bill and my rent. You go down and eat, they clean your house once a week, and they do your laundry once a week. It is absolutely wonderful. They provide three meals a day. The food is wonderful. I don't have complaints except there's not enough rice because I'm a diabetic. A lot of us are diabetic and we just pick and choose and not eat the carbohydrates or the bread. It is absolutely clean. The staff is wonderful. I have no complaints about any of them. I play bingo two days a week. There's just a lot of things. I go out and walk around the building. They got a garden and it's really nice. The facilities are wonderful. I've got central cooling and heating with a touch of a button. It's very convenient. They play match games, Wheel of Fortune, and different kinds of games. This is the first one I've been in and I'm very satisfied to be here. I am blessed. The building is 13 years old and they've kept it up wonderfully.

I'm in assisted living at Village at Oakwood. The staff is consistent, kind, and efficient. They have a lot of games like bingo, dominoes, and card games. They have a lady that comes out and does a racing derby with miniature horses. They have a man that comes out and does singing. There are lots of activities. They have a little van and they take a group of people to shop, they do crafts, and they have bible studies. They just offer a little bit of everything for everybody. They take surveys every once in a while and ask what kind of things we would like to do. They cater to what we want. They have a special every meal, and they have a menu that you can order from. There's a pretty big variety. You can pretty much have what you want and then they offer snacks during the day, drinks, coffee, tea, juice, lemonade, and all kinds of things. I feel like I'm eating all the time. Their food is very good. The staff in the kitchen are very, very efficient, very sweet, and real kind to everybody, and they're just happy to wait on you. I really enjoy the facilities here. We have nice big bedrooms, the bathrooms are big, and we have a living room, and they keep remodeling. All the time I've been here, they're updating everything. They're always improving and making things better. They have a nice library and all kinds of gathering rooms and kitchens. It's a nice place. If I have any type of problem or anything, they are right on it. They care about what you care about. I really like it here. They come in, they clean, and they do everything for you.

I visited the independent living of Village at Oakwood. The place is very clean, the people were very accommodating, and was just a nice place for someone that needs any kind of assistance. The rooms were clean and the dining area was accommodating and also clean. I haven't eaten there but the food was presentable and appetizing.

I liked that Village at Oakwood was clean. It had a good atmosphere. You walked in and there were enough people around busy and what-have-you. They all looked happy. It had a nice atmosphere. They've got a lot of nice pluses. They had craft rooms, there were games, and a lot was going on. They have a dorm-sized refrigerator in the apartment. The staff was very vivacious. She's a very, very good tour guide. It's a large facility. I think they have over 100 beds there, but we didn't see the second floor. The staff was terrific. I was very impressed with the facility, too.

I toured Village at Oakwood. I like the size of the apartment. However, there's not a very good sitting outside area. The staff person that we spoke with was nice, but the staff people that we saw as we were looking at the facility, didn't seem particularly friendly. The facility was nice. However, you can tell that they move things around, and store things in different areas. It's not just completely straightened up. It's nice, but they need to do a little bit of straightening up in my opinion. They have amenities, but it didn't look like the salon was able to be used because there's a bunch of junk in there, and I'm not sure that the spas could be used either. Supposedly they're opening a snack shop, but it was not open for us to see. The facility outside was not very big. There's a big area that's fenced off that people can't get to because it's like a slope and they don't want people to fall. But instead of having a nice area where there are plants out there and places for people to sit, it was just this very narrow sidewalk with a bench that was not very attractive. In terms of cleanliness, it seemed to be pretty clean.

Village at Oakwood is an assisted living. My mother can live on her own, but she does sometimes have falling spells. I was basically checking this place to make sure that the staff would be able to assist with her spells when she does fall. Ichecked them to see that the hospital is right across the street from where they're at, so I thought that was also a plus. The staff seemed very knowledgeable. The place was clean, so I was very impressed with it. They have different activities going on all the time. They just told my mom that depending on what was going on that it was her to decision if she wanted to join or not. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. The people that work there actually acknowledge when they see you, and they said hi. The place looked clean; it smelled clean. They were very knowledgeable. Right now, I'm dealing with the paperwork. The people that are in charge of the financial side of it are very helpful and very detail oriented. They have a guard there, and they have a place where you can go out and sit. My mom does like some flowers and stuff like that. She's going to be on the first floor. The rooms are a really good size. I really can't think at the moment that they're lacking in anything. They have transportation to take her to her doctor's appointments, and they have outings. I think they're doing a pretty good job of covering everything.

I like the Village at Oakwood. The lady I spoke with and gave us a tour was wonderful and nice. I love the rooms. I thought it was just perfect for what I needed. I saw a sheet on this big board that they have different activities every day, like some type of easy exercise or something like that.

I went to visit the Village at Oakwood. The staff was very nice, very helpful, and very insightful. The rooms seemed fine except for the kitchen area. It was a surprise to me that that's all there was to the kitchen, and that the living room was so tiny. The community looked fine. At this point, I'm capable of walking, shopping, and driving, so the area was not something that I would be doing it in.

I went to see the Village at Oakwood but it's all assisted living and I'm looking for independent living. It doesn't have any apartments and anything like that. It's just one big building and it's assisted living so they take care of your medication and everything. I'm not ready for that yet because I do everything for myself. It's beautiful inside and outside. I liked the owner too, she's a nice lady. They have an area where you can read books and watch TV. Some people can also sit in the dining room. The facility looks nice and elegant. I would stay there if I were at that stage.

What struck me about Village at Oakwood is that I would have physical help with anything I needed. I got a chance to look at their meal menus and those looked pretty good. They all seemed to be very caring people. The staff during the tour was wonderful and knowledgeable and would tell you anything you wanted to know. That does make a difference, that they're not trying to hide something from you. The facility was very basic and the apartment was small. It's 525 square feet, but I'm one person, so I don't need a lot of room. It had a kitchenette, a small refrigerator, and a microwave.

I went to Village at Oakwood. They were quite informative and helpful. We just saw an unfurnished apartment that was set up as a model. The staff during the tour was very good. The facility looked very nice. Because of Covid, I only saw this model room and the waiting area.

I was impressed with the Village at Oakwood. They have a lot of activities for the people, a lot of nice amenities in the property, and the staff has been there for a long time, like 9 and 10 years, which I think that's kind of unusual for those types of facilities since they seem to have pretty high turnover. All around, we just had a really good feel to it and they're nice people.

The Village at Oakwood is very nice. We are in the middle of the paperwork, but we already have an apartment open for my mom. It is a very clean place. There are people 24/7. They have restaurant style dining, a library, a gym, and activities. They have a PA on-staff during the week -- Monday through Friday. They have 4 geriatric doctors and people to help with medicine, bathing, cleaning, and laundry. They give out the necklaces in case they fall. It uses a combination of Advantage Medicaid and Medicare, and then the tenant pays a percentage of their social security, so she even gets to keep money.
