We liked the facility when we came to look. The first thing one notices is that there is no foul odor often associated with a place of this type. We were also afraid of the Coronavirus which has been known to infect the population of homes of this type. Here they have a special hall for patients that have the virus, and they test patients when they come in and at various times through their stay.... we felt our family member would be safe at Medical Park West. The food was good and not bland or uninteresting. Our family member often requested and got a second helping. And they put baskets of wholesome treats out at the nursing desks for the patients to eat at night while watching television. We had a problem that needed a compassionate person that could understand the complexity of our situation and help us. At Medical Park West we found that person in social services. Her name is Jordan, and she was of great help to us and our family member that was staying at the facility. Jordan is a keeper! All and all, we would highly recommend this facility for a loved one.

My father has been in Medical Park West Rehabilitation for 10 days now. Care is good to very good. The place seems bright and clean and meal preparation seems more than adequate. The rooms are a good size. I haven't had very much interaction with the staff; that would be more something that my sister could speak to. I haven't had any negative interaction with them, though. They had dining areas, physical therapy areas, and an outdoor courtyard. He's in physical and occupational therapy. They may be a little bit understaffed, but I'm aware that that's probably the case for many, many medical facilities of all sorts right now. I think that's probably due to pandemic conditions more than anything.

I can't give one star to this place. Absolutely horrible experience. My grandmother was taken here for rehab after having pneumonia at Healthplex in Norman. We were told by a friend that there wasn't a good rehab center like this in Norman that was worth a damn but this was the better of all evils. There is absolutely no protocols that are consistent, it depends on who answers the phone! They were always full and you coudn't make an appointment to come see your loved ones but when we would show up un announced there was no one there in the visiting area. Best we can tell they are using Covid as a great excuse to not have to deal with family members and they are always "full" for appointments. The only time myself or another family member got to see her the rooms are disgusting, they dont wipe down the tables after the resident eats, to get a soda it cost .75 and how many elderly show up to that place with money?? And their charging medicare/insurance how much?? We did end up going to see her through a window on Easter since they were "full" and her room was gross and we noticed her neck was bright red. We NEVER got a phone call saying "this is how Jean is doing today" or "we're working on this in physical therapy". She was supposed to get evaluated and they were going to let us know where she was at physically and 6 days later we finally had to get ahold of the higher ups to find out what the hell was going on. Not to mention when she got there, she was wheeled away without even getting to say goodbye and she has severe dementia! Can you imagine what that did to her mentally??? When we finally said enough is enough and we went to pick her up on the 7th day she is covered from head to toe in a severe rash, they are blaming it on eggs because she has eggs listed as an allergy. WHY WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR PATIENT EGGS IF IT'S LISTED AS AN ALLERGY!? But none the less we think it's something more than that. I would say a combination of filth, neglect and abuse. Please do not send your loved ones here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really liked physical therapy, the staff was nice especially Marcus, and they helped my upper body strength. I wish I could have stayed longer.

My mother was in Medical Park West Rehabilitation. It was a horrible situation, and she ended up dying from it. I would not put any of my loved ones there, because she received no care, her call light would go on forever, and she had no bed sores at all, and she came out with one that was at least half of her back. Because of covid, we couldn't go in to check on her except see her through a window, and it's just not right. They could have improved their nursing care by a lot, it was very poor. They didn't tell us the truth with what was going on with her either, when I would call. It appeared to be clean and caring, but I found out differently. It came highly recommended by another agency, but it turned out not to be.

Could not visit due to Covid19. Could not get any feedback as to her well-being until other family members pressed the issue. She fell two times. Still under investigation but she left there without hearing aids and FALSE TEETH. The new wheel chair she went there with did not come back with her. Pressed the issue and it was found after a "search."

If I could give them 0 stars I would. They have been absolutely horrible to both my Grandparents who were here. The personnel here have no regard for the residents in their care. My grandfather was injured when one of the personnel neglected to strap him into his wheelchair and he fell out. They failed to provide him with his necessary insulin for three days. The personnel there informed us multiple times that they had been calling in pain medication when in fact it was proven that they had not. They flat out lied about it. My family members were both there for 2 weeks and neither of them ever received a bath and their bedding was never changed. We thought that it was a fluke, that maybe it was just us. Unfortunately multiple people we’ve spoken to have reported similar stories that make my stomach turn. This place is truly awful.

We chose Medical Park West Rehabilitation for my father-in-law. Its a skilled nursing facility and long term care, so if people need both, it's very convenient to transition from one to the other. The staff is very attentive, caring, and available. The location is very convenient for people in Norman. The rooms are private or semi-private and more like hospital rooms that have small TVs and chest of drawers. They have bingo and people who come sing. My father-in-law seems to like the food.

Medical Park West was beautiful, brand new, and really nice. The therapy room was nice, had all kinds of equipment, and was easy to get to. It was definitely one of the nicer ones. It had a really nice courtyard outside and some gazebos where you can sit.
