I've got my husband on a waiting list for Grace Living Center-Norman. They have a facility with PT, and I've been out and visited with them and talked to them, so I know they can provide the kind of care he's going to need until we can get his surgery completed. They also have skilled nursing. The staff was all very nice. I've watched interactions with the patients and it was very good. My husband likes it because they allow animals to visit the patients. My best friend's father is in there as well, and he told me the food was good. They were nice, and they took good care of him. It's an older facility, and the rooms were not huge, but they were adequate. They're large enough to get my husband's adaptive equipment in with a roommate. It was cold, so I didn't go outside in the back, but I looked outside and it looked nice. They have a place for them when it's appropriate to go outside. They don't have a lot of space in the front. In connection with Norman Public School, they have a pre-K early childhood education school. They have what they call the grand friend program instead of grandparents, where they can see the children in class through windows from their wheelchairs, and then they have an opportunity to sign up to interact with the young kids if they so choose. They have an activities director and they do church, singing, bingo, games, parties, and all of that. With the kids there and with patients visiting with their animals, I think it just has a more home-like feel.

My mother is in Grace Living Center for a couple of months. It’s a really nice place, and the people have been very kind. I do not have any problems. The rooms are basic, clean, and well maintained. They have a TV, bed, and a night stand. My mother likes the atmosphere because t’s always cheery, and there’s always something going on.
