My husband moved to Sand Sage of the Highlands. I chose this place because it's 4.6 miles from my home and he has gotten the best care of anywhere he's been. Everyone treats you like family. They are amazing over there. I am so blessed that we found that place. We looked at about 25 nursing homes. None of them were fit for him to be in, and one of them, our feet stuck to the floor. It was so nasty and so then we went to the assisted living, and we went to several of those, but this one was close, and I'm glad we picked this one. The employees are all wonderful. They take very good care of my husband. They take him down to meals three times a day so he gets out of his room. They have places where they can do puzzles. If there's a ball game, they have a great big area with a popcorn machine and snacks for them to watch the ball game. They have TVs throughout the area so people don't have to stay in their rooms. They play bingo. They take them to a casino about once a month, the ones that want to go. They just offer so many things. It's expensive, but it's worth the care that he's getting.

We went to tour Willowood at Mustang Senior Living. It was beautiful and I thought it was reasonably priced. We met the nurse that's on staff, but she's not there all the time. The people were very nice. We didn't even make an appointment, we just walked in the door and looked around, and she took us all over the place. I loved the way it was set up. It looked like a bunch of little apartments along a big, huge hallway. It's really neat. They also had outside areas. The girl from the restaurant came in and brought us two pieces of cake and told us to take them home. The food looked great, and the kitchen area and dining room looked beautiful. They had a beauty shop, two different movie areas, and a physical therapy room with stationary bicycles and some lifting things. It just looked pretty neat to me.
