I moved into Laurel Springs Retirement. They mow our yard once a week, pick up our trash every day, and plant trees. We had a watermelon get together and community dinner next week. They have good exercise every day; last night, they had water aerobics. I have a small, detached cottage and attached garage with a patio in front, and a covered patio with a fence at the back. Its brand new, and all the units are newly built. If anybody wants independent living at a reasonable price, this is the place. They have a car wash unit come in for $30, and a massage lady come in for $20.

Laurel Springs Retirement was beautiful. Had the price been within our range, we would have loved it. They looked good. They had a nice looking safe room for storms. The staff who gave the tour was awesome. The building was beautiful. It was clean and smelled good. It was pretty. They had a nice physical therapy area. The dining area was pretty, too. It was nice, clean and cozy. There was a fireplace in the community area that they could have on. The rooms were nice. They had one small room. It was the cheapest room, and it didn't have a window, so that was something that we were not interested in. But the other rooms that we saw were nice and spacious. The facility was well-kept. It was locked so that the clients inside were safe. It was a beautiful area.

As we drove through Laurel Springs Retirement Living, we saw seniors working on flower gardens. As we went through the clubhouse, we saw people playing a board game. The place was immaculately clean. There was no trash anywhere. Nothing was out of place. You could see that in each of the units, residents took a lot of pride in how their place looked. When we went in, I was very taken by the fact that you could get the floor changed to carpet or to wood or tile, whatever you wanted. My wife and I were very taken by their configurations of the various units and the choices available. There was actually a waiting list, which we understand. The manager was right on the answers to the questions. She was open and honest about anything. We felt very comfortable with her.

Laurel Springs Retirement Living was far away from me. It was very nice, neat, and very clean. There's no handicap access for someone in a wheelchair. It's fine if you're using a walker. The staff who accommodated us were very nice and polite. They tried to be very helpful and answer any questions that you have. This place was more geared toward people who need assisted living, more than independent living. They pretty much have everything in terms of rooms there. They offered two bedrooms but most of them were full.

The manager on duty at Laurel Springs was very informative and pleasant. I had a good tour. I saw several different units there, and I was very impressed with the community. It's more like individual homes rather than apartments, and it's totally independent living.
