First off do not let the pictures on here fool you. It looks like a run down motel. Everything people are saying about the faculty is true. Looks like jail food, don't think they ever clean anything, can't find any staff that knows anything. Most of them are on their phones and talking. Staff barely talks and I could have been a killer walking in the door and they wouldn't have said anything. They share a toilet that smells like a portapotty and I swear the week my father was there they never bathed him. He smelled horribly. I seen them leave patients who buzzed them for 20 minutes without responding. There is yellow tape blocking parts of the ran down building off and seems hazardous to anyone walking around. If anyone has family or friend there please go see them. I really don't see how this place isn't shut down. I would be embarrassed to work there and act like everything is fine. People got to know this place is horrible. I'm trying to think of something nice to say and I guess the hedges outside the facility are nicely trimmed. Inside tells a different story!! I assumed with the 5 star rating and pics it would be amazing or liveable but I wouldn't put my worst enemy there. Amenities lol that's a joke! Staff one or two who only worked there part time seemed to have any compassion or empathy or knowledge . No one knew what was going on and I agree that maybe see one person wandering the hall working and no one hardly at the front. I'm still trying to figure out where they bathe people bc it's not in their rooms. Also you can barely open the room door without hitting one of the beds. I agree that just because a place is old doesn't mean it needs to look like this! Whoever owns this facility should definitely be ashamed and all these people saying the food is great and the place is wonderful have got to be lying. If you don't believe me just walk in and take a 5 min look. Trust me they won't care, acknowledge you or know what's going on!

The staff does not listen to. Their patients. I had no faith that they knew what they were doing when they didn’t even know how to flush my drain! Then I had no faith that they knew how to measure how much output my drain had daily. The day before I was set to go home my drain came out. I tried to tell them I might have caught the drain tube with my foot and accidentally pulled it out. They were like oh no there’s no way that could happen. You’re okay. It fell out because you finished your treatment and you don’t need the drain anymore. I tried to call my Dr office the next day but they were like oh no Emerald Care explained and you finished your treatment. That was Wednesday, today is Saturday and I’m back in the hospital!!!!! These people are FOOLS!! UTTER FOOLS!!!
Truly yours

Note a large contingent is housed as a permanent nursing home and it appears to be such, not being the desired skilled nursing one would hope for for a loved one IMO. While 50 years old it seems twice the age. The facility does not have a dedicated receptionist and the attempted telephone contact was unanswered 6 of 7 attempts at various times and without a recording for messages. Third party "agency" nurses at Emerald Care lends for a lack of continuity in skilled care. If I was there I would depart for another facility. Via a St Anthony's OKC downtown discharge, I would just say no and demand elsewhere. This facility is located next to St. Anthony's Midwest City Hospital. Hoping this may be helpful for future loved ones and their families.

I've been in Emerald Care Center Midwest twice for rehab. I liked it, and it has a good layout. The staff was really good, and the food was good. I liked the room. I was in a double room, with two beds, and it was clean.

My mom is at Emerald Care Center. She is going through some rehab, occupational therapy, and physical therapy to get her up and going again. It is outstanding. I have no problems with it whatsoever. I'm fully satisfied. I feel comfortable with my mom there, and I'm not worried about her. The people are caring and very professional. If anything comes up, they give me a call. I'm glad that we were able to get her there. The place is kept clean. Maybe some of the furnishings could be updated, but it is very minor. The staff is caring, professional, and knowledgeable of my mom's needs. If they don't know something, they know where to find the information. I'm very happy that my mom is there. They have an exercise room and a dining room with a piano, which is very nice. The dining room has enough room for the people. I don't see any overcrowding, and that's what I like.

My Mom has been here a little over 4 months. The nursing staff provide very good care and work hard. The food is better than most places. It is an older facility so if you're looking for something fancy this would not be an option. If making sure your loved one is cared for this would is a great place.

My father is there today and will have to stay for 16 more days. The food is the worst I have ever seen in any facility. Tonight he was served pork and beans and spinach for dinner with kool aid and the tiniest dinner roll I have ever seen. He's IV had been left in his arm 3 days after the doctor had requested it be taken out????. I know these places are understaffed. But I am doing what I can to get him out of there!

Manorcare was nice, but they’re too expensive; I cannot afford it. They’ve got a salon, a library, and a dining room; you don’t cook in your room. It didn’t really impress me that much either.

They have some good people at ManorCare Health Services. Their food, dining area, and rooms were OK. They have a lot of activities for the residents. They should improve on the way their staff deals with patients.

Manorcare was awful. It’s smelled the moment you walk in. A lot of patients were alone in their room as you walk down the hall. The staff was pretty quiet and never really talked. They have a few private rooms, but the rest were average size, and there were two beds to a room. The food wasn’t very good.

I have visited this facility several times. Unfortunately, it is not one of the more favorable ones. While I have definitely seen worse facilities, this one is certainly in the group of my least favorite places to go. The facility itself is rather run down. It is obvious to the naked eye that it was built long ago, and there haven't been many improvements made to it at the present time. While the entire building is showing its age, the individual rooms where the patients stay appear to be even older. Very few inprovements have been made to the rooms to date. While an old building does not necessarily translate into a less than stellar experience, the building often appears to be less than clean. Often, patients' rooms simply do not smell or look clean. Instead, they smell of urine and/or feces, and they are so crowded that it is actually hard to get the patients in and out of the rooms with a stretcher. Often, when patients are moved from their bed to the stretcher, leftover particles of food fall off the patient or are laying on the bed. Because of these things, it seems that personal hygiene is not necessarily at the top of the list in this facility. In addition to the condition of the facility, the staff is also of concern. More than once, patients have been brought in, and there is no one at the front desk, nor can anyone be found by walking the halls. This makes it extremely difficult to get the patients to their respective rooms, not to mention ensuring that they receive the proper care. Frequently, when someone can be found, the standard answer to most questions is, "I don't know." This causes me to be concerned for the patient, and often stretcher crews are at the facility for an extremely long period of time, making sure that the patients are safe and that they have whatever they need. It is frustrating to experience this apparent lack of concern for one's fellow man, and it seems to occur all too often in nursing homes. While the conditions here are certainly less than ideal, there are people who do care, and every attempt is made to find these people and make them aware of any and all concerns that are present at the given time. It is difficult and sometimes heart-breaking, but the goal here is to make sure the patients that reside there are safe and taken care of, and that their needs are met.
