Van Buren House is a very good and clean place with an elegant dining area. The nurses are very attentive. They have different bus schedules for different places to go. Her doctor is actually just right across the street and she could walk, but the bus takes her there. They have sittercises for those in wheelchairs and other activities in their activity room. The staff seemed to be really nice. Mom likes them a lot. They've always been very helpful when I ask them questions.

We moved my mother-in-law to Van Buren House about two weeks ago. It's part of McAlester Regional Hospital. Everybody there likes the food. She's in an apartment that's a little over 400 sq. ft. She has a microwave, and we bought her a toaster. It has a little kitchenette and a refrigerator, and she has enough room to move around, and they take care of her laundry. They call it an all-care. The staff is very friendly, very helpful. They have bingo and outings. There's a puzzle sitting out that they put together. They have an exercise group. They have church on Sunday. They have a beauty shop. They take her to her doctor and dentist appointments. They'll take them on an outing to Wal-Mart once a week, and they take whoever wants to go to town.
