My mother moved into The Chateau of Lawton. They're caring for her, she's in the memory care unit, and getting excellent care. They call me if there's an issue about anything. At least I'm kept in the loop, and I like that. The nursing staff is very friendly, giving out hugs when people need them or ask for them. But they have wonderful food and a very nice facility. I couldn't ask for it to be any better. They have a courtyard, they do cookouts when the weather is nice, and there is a salon there. They come in on Wednesdays to do hair. You just have to make an appointment.

The staff at The Chateau of Lawton was nice. They showed us a large one-bedroom unit and it was also nice, but it was a big turnoff when they said that they were going to be knocking on your door every 2 hours. Another thing was they weren't willing to take doctor's appointments out at Fort Sill or to Oklahoma City. They said they would only do Lawton. Other than that, cleanliness seemed fine to me.

The Chateau of Lawton was clean. There was no odor and you could tell that it was well maintained. The lady that took us on the tour was very nice, very attentive, and answered my questions. She explained a lot to my mom and myself. We wanted to go into an area that was not being used, and she allowed us to go in there and look around. So, she did a great job. She showed us the two different types of possible rooms that my mom could have and they were very nice and comfortable. There weren't a lot of people around, which was another good thing too, because you can get acquainted with everyone. They had a little backyard, then some of the rooms had balconies and some of the other ones didn't. The one that was available at that time didn't have the balcony, but you could still go out through the main entryway if you wanted to go outside and sit.

My 93 year old mother has lived at the Chateau for over a year because we were no longer able to keep her at home. She receives very good care by a loving staff. The cook knows what she likes and the meals are great. They have activities for fun, stimulation and exercise. She was happy to bring furniture and decor from her home. Her room is kept spotless.

My mother-in-law moved into the Chateau of Lawton. It's a very small facility, they have three meals a day plus three snacks, and they have activities on a daily basis. Most people have their own 1- or 2-bedroom apartments. They have outside activities, the care is very good, the nurses are great, and they answer all our questions when we call or visit. They have an exercise area, they have books on a bookcase, and they have a special activity area where they play Bing and do other activities. It's also pet friendly.

The physical appearance of The Chateau of Lawton was good, and the cleanliness was austere. The reason we didn't pick them was because the rooms were smaller, and the price was higher. The staff who gave us the tour was very nice, cordial, and helpful. It just didn't meet our needs.
