I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Loved one there 4 weeks for skilled care and PT. Two falls, one in room and had to lay on hard cold floor till someone came to rescue. No call to family about fall. 3 ER visits later, they packed up belongings, some missing and loved one ended up with pneumonia, sepsis among other infections. Horrible lack of communication with family, our experience was very little compassion, skill, or care. Very Sad!

I visited this facility

We visited Mcmahon Tomlinson Nursing Center, and it's a nursing home. It's very large. The memory care unit is separate and closed out. It's hospital bed versus an apartment, and there's a TV in the room. We're considering it for when she needs more care, but we were depressed when we saw it. The staff was very pleasant, she gave us a tour, and she was very informative. The cleanliness was very good. They have places for families to gather, which I liked, and you're allowed to come and go as you please. The people seemed well taken care of.

McMahon Tomlinson was very nice and clean. My wife was going through physical therapy there, which was twice a day. I like the way the room was set up. She had a roommate, but it was divided by a wall, so it was like she had her own little apartment space. Most of the time, she ate in her room. She was on a mechanical soft diet, so the meat was already grounded up for her. She didn't really participate in the activities too much because she wasn't as far along in her recovery as she is now. They had trick or treaters and Thanksgiving dinner for the residents and the families. The staff members were knowledgeable and friendly; however, I noticed toward the end of her stay there, to me, it seemed like they were getting a little irritated because my wife would say, "No, I can't."

Our experience with McMahon Tomlinson Nursing & Rehab was good. They were fully staffed so there's a lot of people, and since they're connected to the hospital, they're very knowledgeable. I didn't have any problems with them as far as attentiveness, but since there's so many of them, they don't always talk to each other very well and we had to explain over and over again about my uncle's circumstances. They certainly attended to his needs up until he passed. They're by far the best place in Lawton to put somebody in, but they didn't have a room for long-term care available. The food looked pretty good. It's the most expensive but nicest place in town that also gives the best care.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was on the skilled nursing unit and received the wrong seizure medication even after family members tried to correct it several times. As a result , she had 3 seizures and her discharge was delayed by one week.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Right now my mother is in McMahon-Tomlinson Nursing Center, and we’re not really happy with the place. The skilled part of it is doing fine and seem to be really attentive in taking good care of her. We’re unhappy with the food because she doesn’t like it. Some of the staff members are excellent; others are lazy. The dining room is restaurant style, but she’s only had one opportunity to go to the cafeteria because they’re bringing her food to the room. There are some exceptionally good nurses and assistants and all those folks that are caring for her, but then on the other side of it, there are those that act like they’re put out when you need something. Some are excellent and some are the opposite; it’s just a matter of who’s on shift.
