Mom moved to Fairmont Senior Living of Westlake. The biggest selling point about that place was she was allowed to smoke on the premises. Her room is nice and clean. There's a bedroom, a little family area room, a little kitchen, and a bathroom. She's kind of just getting acclimated to everybody, but I know they have bingo, people that come in to perform music like guitar or piano, and they take trips to places. I had lunch there and I just had a burger and fries. The burger was fine. The fries were not. The person that we were initially dealing with for the lease thing left after we met them. So we had a person who was filling in and that wasn't their job. Then we have a personnel who does that job, and they did fine. So, there was a bit of a lapse there because of the changeover, but the person we ended up with was fine, knowledgeable, and helpful. The staff that does the cleaning seem fine and nice, too.

Our overall experience with Fairmont of Westlake was good. It's a nice place. The staff was great and the rooms were clean. The only thing I didn't like was they didn't have a sink in the kitchenette. Other than that, everything was good. They have a lot of activities. Some Irish dancers were coming in and they were getting ready to do that. They're also remodeling the place like putting new floors in. It was clean and nice. The lady that gave the tour was very helpful. Some residents asked something from her and she would stop and talk to them and explain what was going on.

Fairmont of Westlake was very nice. The woman who helped me with the tour treated me very kindly. She spent quite a bit of time with me before we went on the tour, just helping me kind of understand things. We ran into a few people in the hallway, and everybody was friendly as we passed them. The apartments were set up nicely. They looked comfortable, bright, and open. The bathroom had plenty of room to move around in. They had activities and she showed me a list of things that they do every day. They're just finishing up putting new carpet in the downstairs area, so it's going to look nice when they're done. They're continuously kind of working to improve their community.

The place we liked the most would probably be Fairmont of Westlake. I liked their aging-in-place philosophy where the person doesn't have to move to a different apartment if they progressed to needing assisted living. The staff was very attentive and seemed to know what we were looking for. The place was slightly dated. But they have a salon and a courtyard. It appeared to be clean and well-maintained. It's near St Anne's Hospital.

I liked Fairmont of Westlake. I was impressed. Our experience was very good. They were very helpful. They explained a lot of information. The facility was very nice. The staff was very nice and very attentive. She's called me since, but I have not called her back because I didn't know what to say. We had some other things to talk about, so she gave me phone numbers to other people to talk about my father's care and how to get that, and that was very helpful. She didn't ask for commitment or anything. She did help me with a lot of other information. They took me all over. It was very clean. The different people from the different areas seemed to get along together. It seemed like they help each other and talk with each other. I was impressed with it. If he had been willing to go there, especially since he is a lower-end budget, I thought it was really good for that amount because most of these places are so much more money. For the money, it would be good. Everyone I met was very friendly and would give you information. I thought the facility was impressive. They have a lot of different areas. There are a lot of different people around. I would have used the facility if he were ready for it and he would do it. I thought it would be a nice facility to be in.

I went to tour Fairmont of Westlake. The staff was nice. The place was clean. I didn't see anything wrong with it. I would have liked it better if there had been furniture in the rooms, but I didn't know there wasn't any furniture. They had furniture in the dining rooms and whatnot, but the patients' rooms were not furnished. We talked to two different staff members, and they were both very nice. They had a cafeteria where they had food. They had an area laid out for coffee and stuff like that if you wanted it, which is nice. It was kept up well. They had a courtyard and a beauty salon. It's practically across the street from the health campus out there. My one brother works at the health campus, and that would be handy. The only thing was that, the amount of money that they quoted me over the phone and the amount when we got there, it was not the same.

My mom moved into Fairmont of Westlake. She likes it very much. She likes all the people there. They keep her going, which is good. The staff has been extremely nice. The residents there have been fantastic. She referenced it as like being back in college again. Her room is very nice. It's smaller, but it's very homey. She's very comfortable in her room. The dining room is very nice. There's probably 40 to 50 tables in there, and they usually put four people at a table. So she sits basically with the same people every day. They go in there and then they give them a drink - water, soda, or juice. It starts off with soup and then if they want a cookie or something, they'll give them that. Then it goes into the main course and then they give dessert also. My mom says the food has been very good. She plays bingo at 3:00. They do balloon volleyball. They have people come in and perform. Before Christmas, they had someone come in once or twice a week and do Christmas songs, and they sing along with them. I'm very happy with how they've been.

We went to visit and saw both assisted and memory care. We would be probably looking at the assisted care, but we wanted to just see the memory care because my mother might need that down the road. It's very, very nice and the security was wonderful. The people's attitudes were great. They were very, very friendly and super polite, and it looked like the residents were enjoying themselves, even during COVID. I talked to two individuals who were waiting for a bus to come and take them somewhere, and they were very, very nice. We got to see where the dining room was, as well as the library. They have a beauty salon, which was nice, because she likes to get her hair done. They had walking areas, too, and seats if you needed to stop and take a rest. We got to see a studio and a one-bedroom, and they were both wonderful. The studios were huge and totally adequate for my mother's needs. You could fit your couch, your bed, and your chair. It was kind of the same way also in the memory care: there was a lot of space. Everything was clean and there wasn't any trash around. The residents were allowed to have their doors open, so we saw people inside. They were watching TV and some waved hello. There were nurses on every floor. I saw a physical therapist in the memory unit, and she was engaging and playing ball catch with them. It was a very upbeat and very personable setting. Their menu had a wide variety of things, and there was an area for snacks with cookies and juice. Usually fruits are available but right now, they have to ask for them, so that was kind of a nice added touch.

I have my mother is in here now. It's been a very good experience. They're just kind of opening back up in Ohio from COVID, so they are just now getting out and around a little bit within the last month. Some of those activities are maybe coming back, but nothing really soon. The staff we met was fine. I have no problems at all. I wasn't able to go through all of the facilities. She went in just before the outbreak, but she's getting the care she needs, and we're good with their response. Everything we've asked for, they provided. They've done OK.

It was fabulous. The people that were running it were very nice. I like the meal options and the dining. I like the facilitator who took me on a tour; she was really, really good. I wasn't able to try the food, but they had ala carte, so you can pick what you want and come and eat when you want. You can sleep as long as you want, too. They have flexibility. There were room options, and the layout and the shower were very nice. The facility was very, very nice.

My grandfather moved in. They've been amazing, they were super helpful getting him moved in, and they had lots of people to give us a hand getting all his stuff in there. They made it very easy and very welcoming for him. The staff has been super great, they've checked in with us since he's been there, and they were really helpful getting the rate set up for him. They've been great. They've been awesome. He said the food is awesome, he really enjoys the macaroni salad, and he really likes the apple pie.

We toured it and chose it for my parents. The staff who accommodated us was wonderful. The room was a 1-bedroom apartment, but they had other options. They had several group activities going on, and the facilities were nice, both dining rooms and common rooms. They had buses to appointments and tours.

It had a picture of all the caretakers, and the lowest amount of time somebody had been there was 5 years, and they're assigned to the same person each day that they work. That was the number one thing we were looking for. The room that I saw was a small studio, but it was acceptable. The other rooms were absolutely beautiful, and they redo them quite often. It looked very home-like and very well done.

It was friendly, caring, and clean. The apartments were much bigger than any other assisted living I have seen, which is what I was looking for. They have shown to me compassion.

We chose it because they have a little more as far as nursing care. My mom is on an Alzheimer's ward and she gets a little more attention. Plus, it is just actually beautiful and the people are very nice. It is a really, really caring place. On my mom's floor, they have two dogs that live up there, and I think that's a nice touch. They also have a family room and a TV room with a kitchen next to it, so people can actually be looked after during the day -- it ihas a very homey feeling. The staff is just very caring and very open to suggestions and willing to do pretty much anything we want them to do. As for activities, they will have people come in and do music shows and magic shows. They have their own activities as well, where they have craft and movie time. My mom is always doing something. The food is five stars. Everything is made fresh. Some places will say, "We got a choice of this and this..." Well at Brighton Gardens, they actually put the food on the plate and they bring it around to the tables and say, "Which one do you want?" Isn't that neat? It is nice. You can read the menu, but it is different to see it on the plate. Overall, what I like best about this place is the atmosphere. People seem to be happy to be working there. I also like the respect and care that they give my mom.

Both my wife and I like it. The staff was very accommodating. They answered every question we had. We did see rooms that day and I thought they have a nice variety of different rooms, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, and suites. They did have a lot of different things. I would absolutely recommend that people visit this place.

It is a top rate place. They're taking excellent care of my aunt. She has two aides who help her and actually have to feed her now. They're doing an excellent job. I don't worry. If anything happens they call me and let me know. I'm very happy with that place. The food is excellent. They have three areas of living: independent, assisted and Alzheimer's care.
