My mom is currently in Vitalia Senior Residences at Strongsville. It has been good. The first day that we were there when we dropped her off, I had to wait a little while, but with Covid and everything, I sort of understand that. I think it's going to be a good fit for her. They're very clean and very pleasant. It has taken us a while to get all the furniture in because I had to order a new chair for her, but they have been very helpful. My mom was involved in some activities the first day, but it is hard to know what's going on now. Yesterday, she wasn't just feeling her best, so I think she spent more time in her room. I think this is going to be a good place for her. It's a nice new facility. The people that I had worked with had been very pleasant. However, in a way, I feel I need to be with them a little longer before I can get a true picture. We haven't had that many experiences. Also, it's so hard to talk to my mom because the place that she was previously at hasn't returned her phone yet. I have to try and talk to her through the window, so it's just really frustrating. My mom has just gotten there, so she hasn't had the chance to do too many activities. They have a spa where they would take them and wash their hair, and she is definitely interested in that. Her room has a high ceiling and neutral paint. I thought it looked really pretty.

I toured Vitalia Senior Residences at Strongsville. The rooms I was not thrilled with because it's just one giant open room. So I wasn't thrilled with the layout of the room, but I like the facility. It was very kind of high-end. They were just very friendly, very informative, and very inviting. They invited me to bring my friend in for lunch. I would have chosen that one. The only reason I did not choose that one is because they did not have the Medicaid slide after two years. Everything was wonderful. The only issue I had was I didn't believe my friend would like the open floor concept like everything is open. She likes somewhat enclosed bedrooms, the boxy type of rooms she likes rather than the open floor plan. It wasn't as social as the other facility. The people seem to be more on their own independently, like eating. There is no set time like they can go and come as they please. So there's not a set time for lunch or dinner or anything like that. It was basically just everything's very open and fluid. I would say for someone younger it would be much better, but for my friend's needs and the fact that she's 95, the other facility just seemed to meet our needs better.

I liked Vitalia Senior Residences at Strongsville. My tour experience was very good. They had a lot to offer. I liked the way their dining room was set up. The rooms were pretty. They're spacious and secure to keep an eye on my mom when she's there. It is unique as far as having a heat sensor to check on her.

Vitalia Senior Residences at Strongsville was clean and spacious. The apartment was clean, but it could be more spacious, and I don't like the layout as well. For our needs right now, it's the one we went with. The staff was very knowledgeable. It looked like the amenities and activities for the seniors were five. They have game areas, a movie theater area, an area where you can exercise, and a gathering area. They had a center courtyard where the residents could enjoy themselves without having to go outside. It was all enclosed, nobody can wander off and nobody could wander in. So, I did like that. They had a lot of different choices to pick from, and ample desserts. We didn't try the food. But I thought it had very good choices. If you go hungry, you're either super picky or that's your own fault.

Vitalia Memory Care is not what it claims to be. It is obvious to me that their experience with dementia and Alzheimer’s residents is severely lacking. What I believe everyone should check out is the experience and educational training of the administrators, front line staff and nurses. What degrees, certifications and other qualifications regarding dementia and Alzheimer’s residents? I don’t have an issue with the facilities, many of the staff who tried their best, or the food as l only know what I see online,. But there were a couple of staff who clearly acted and made decisions without following protocol and consultation. No one notified the family of serious consequential decisions by certain staff members. The quality of care for someone I love was severely lacking.

I went to Vitalia Senior Residences at Strongsville. It was nice and well maintained. It's newer, they have a few of them, so my description of it is that they have it well organized and they did adhere to COVID compliance and protection for any visitor that came in. So I'll be assured that you'd be OK taking a tour at this time. The staff was very nice, very informative, very empathetic, and we used the word very, quite a bit because they did their due diligence. I did not see any activities because I was directed strictly into their memory neighborhood due to the diagnosis of my father. They customize activities for that individual and the family as far as what that person can do. The area which I toured was very quiet and a lot of things were shut down because of the COVID situation. They were still following COVID protocol, and not opening common areas, so I didn't see anybody. I was informed that they seem to do individual accommodation, they referred to them as apartments, and they were quite sizable. You have to supply everything, they don't supply anything. It's an empty unit and then you would supply whatever personal items, everything. The dining room is extremely different in the memory neighborhood versus the assisted living. Assisted living is quite elaborate. It looks like a little hotel or restaurant. The memory is more like a little kitchenette, not much. They have twenty-five patients in the unit and it's run by one nurse and three aides. It's very clean, open quarters, and it's quite different from the others I've seen.

When we walked into Vitalia Senior Residences at Strongsville, it was like a five-star hotel. The assisted living rooms were like apartments that had wreaths hung out on their doors, and it was very bright and cheery. They were just beautiful. The people we met were very, very nice. The chef came in with a platter of fruit and cheeses, and because it was the first one I looked at, we were sold on the studio that was on the first floor that had a little door to walk out onto a patio. However, the more I thought about it, I didn't know if the studio was fine because everything was in the same room. They had a pool inside the place though, an exercise room, a theater room where they hold virtual masses on TV, a library, physical therapy, and a dining room that was like a restaurant where you order off a menu. It was just beautiful.

Our mother has lived at Vitalia for just over a year now. The staff and residents have become like family to all of us! The amenities and activities offered create a lifestyle that is as active as you want it to be. Mom has a beautiful place to call her own and many friends that make it feel like a home.

Vitalia Senior Residences at Strongsville was very big. The food was good. I didn't see a room because they didn't have one available. I liked the person who was touring with me. They had a kitchen where they can cook, they had a dining room and a small area where if they didn't want a big meal, they can go anytime for soup, sandwiches, and salad. They had an exercise area and a small pool.

I was very impressed with Vitalia Senior Residences at Strongsville. It was lovely. Everything was nice. We have friends that have gone there and they were extremely happy there. It's a good place. It's just a little bit too much Big Brother with wrist bands and things in the rooms. We're not ready to be under such close scrutiny, and it takes away a lot of your privacy. They have no facilities for cars except for them to be parked outside. There's a pool, there are games, and there's a bus to take you to the casinos and other excursions. The staff member that took care of us was very pleasant and very informative.
