My grandmother was in this facility for 5 weeks for rehab after being in the hospital for 4 months. She was in one of the private rehab rooms, it was clean and spacious. Staff was kind and respectful to my grandma and visiting family and was always available to answer our questions. At times she had to wait a little bit for her call light to be answered. The management staff was super helpful and went above and beyond to assist with a safe Discharge home. We cannot rate the food as she was not able to eat but it always smelled wonderful during meal times.

My father was sent her for a 5 day respite stay. He had a fall at the facility because they increased his Ativan to keep him quiet, which made him more confused. When he arrived home, his face was broken out in a red, patchy, and scaly rash that he did not have prior to his arrival at the facility. We were never notified of this and he will now require an antifungal and antibiotic to treat it. The facility also did not send home his personal walker. He also was drowsy and obtunded upon returning home and there was no mention of his change in mentation or any medications the facility may have given to cause the change prior to his leaving. Trying to get ahold of the nurse on his wing was pointless as she could not be found. My mom called and I called twice. Also tried to get in touch with the DON. Regardless the outcome of our complaints, and if we get my dad's walker back, I would not recommend this facility to anyone. I can't attest to the conditions of the facility, as they are not allowing visitors due to COVID.

My Grandmother was a patient at Laurie Ann Nursing Home. We were encouraged by the Hospital to visit several nursing homes without an appointment. When I arrived at Laurie Ann, I was immediately greeted with a happy smiling face of the Director of Nursing. She was pushing a patient out into the main area. She actually showed me around the Nursing Home. It was very clean and odor free, in fact it smelled of home cooked food! She showed me the Skilled Nursing unit and the Physical Therapy area. It all has been renovated. I visited two more Nursing Homes and I did not get the homey welcoming feeling I felt from the Laurie Ann. My Grandmother was transferred there from the Hospital and she received excellent care for about 3 weeks. As we visited my grandmother we got to know several of her caregivers. They had explained to us that the Laurie Ann has had a complete change over in the Nurse leaders and in fact they had been recently purchased by a family owned company. They were all very excited about the changes that were happening. We were thrilled with the care our grandmother. We were able to keep her near her friends in Newton Falls and she is contemplating selling her house and moving into the Assisted Living apartments. The apartments are also beautiful and very well kept. We had a very good experience at the Laurie Ann and would recommend to family and friends.

Still a nasty smelly understaffed nursing home n only has 50 beds.. the new rehab part is nice, but that's about it especially when they have one nurse running rehab n skilled care!! Look around for the sake of your loved ones!

My father was placed there after a short hospital stay. He was fine when he arrived there, but in 2 weeks his mental status dropped dramatically. He developed a severe bladder infection and was extremely dehydrated. The home called my mother and said he was being transferred back to the hospital. When my mother asked about his condition and how serious his condition was, she was told by the Nurse in charge that she should say her goodbyes, because he probably wouldn't be coming home. When we would visit you couldn't find any nursing staff to help him back to bed. They leave the residents in their wheelchairs all day. My father had a bad back & severe arthritis in the spine and was left sitting in his wheelchair all day. The residents are left in the main sitting area with no visual stimulation. We took his own clothes in but found him wearing other mens clothes. The decor is very depressing...you can tell that it hasn't been updated in more then 20 yrs. No I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The nurses and stna's do not work together to care for the residents. During one visit, the resident's call light was on and the stna's on staff where standing right in the hallway ignoring it. The amenities are few and far between, for an example for meals if the resident does not like what the cook made, then they get a peanut butter sandwich. The daily activies are only from 9am-3pm, Monday thru Friday, and consist of painting nails, putting residents in front of tvs, and finally if you have a birthday it is very badly planned out. They group all the resident's that have the birthday that month, get a simple, bad tasting sheet cake to feed them. Most of the residents cannot eat this because they are on a puree diet only, which is very inconsiderate. The facilities for residents are very small and host two people inside it and then have four people of both sexes share one bathroom. The room's are dimly lit and the basic tan color painted on the walls does very little to brighten up the place.
