I was a resident of StoryPoint Medina. It's similar to where I am now, except that it was too far. We moved from my own environment. It wasn't close to where my family was. The staff was wonderful. The food was very good. The rooms are too small for me. The building is fairly new, but it's like any other building. It was a nice building. It was kept up very well. The director has been in business for a while, so I think they had a better continuity with everything, so the activities were very good.

Dad moved into Story Point almost a year ago now. He is settling in and loves the community and friendships he has made. The menu is very nice and my wife and I often joke that we are going to move in so we can eat the food. The staff has been great with Dad and they offer many different options as far as on site therapy and work out programs. Dad also enjoys going out on the planned off site events such as visiting local restaurants and bars. Dad also has the help of the I site home care team who make sure he’s getting his medications as needed.

Facility is clean and well managed. Food is very good. Daily activities (should you choose to participate) as well as special events outside the facility are arranged for those willing and able. Friends and family that have visited the community are impressed with the overall comfort, safety, efficiency and supporting infrastructure for the residents.

Everything about story point is excellent. One note I would certainly make is the correct location… to advertise as “Medina” may be accurate, but it is certainly at best what I would consider “montrose west”. Caring staff, large rooms and excellent food service make story point stand above the rest.

StoryPoint Medina was bright and cheery. It's a newer facility and does not have an institutional feel. The building and the rooms were very impressive. The price point compared to the other ones was more expensive, but appeared worth it.

My Dad has many people here who watch over him. The staff is friendly and attentive. Dad can be a challenge but the people here treat him with kindness and respect. Many of the other residents helpful as well and have called him by name since his first day. The also show concern and ask after him when he isn’t feeling well. My family appreciates all the love and care he receives here at StoryPoint Medina.

So happy with all of the staff at Story Point! All are very friendly, kind hearted, eager to help with anything we ask of them. And we ask a lot! We could no longer handle the care of our loved one. We feel at peace now that Story Point was the right place to trust. The rooms are beautiful, the food is great, plenty to do! I am so thankful we found them!

Experience May 2022-Dec 2022. My grandpa was a resident. I am not one to give compliments unless they’re truly deserved and for Storypoint, I don’t even know where to begin! This is not just a facility/apartment. It’s truly a FAMILY, a community of people and professionals who made this decision the only one viable for my grandpa (my Bop). The search to find the best fit for your loved one is not only stressful, it’s scary, and truly a full time job if you’re doing it right. The moment I met the team at Storypoint, I knew it was THE ONE. Nothing else compares, and if you’re looking… you won’t find anything to this caliber. From the food, to the events, to the team, and living assistance - Storypoint has it all. It’s really the only place to call your new home that allows you to live out your best life and get a little help with things (if and when needed). The apartments are modern and up to date. The maintenance team responds in a timely fashion if something is needed. The gym/workout facility has a trainer available if needed along with independent use of the gym and/or fitness classes. The chef makes incredible meals that aren’t just your standard rotation of the same dishes. He takes great great pride in everything he makes. Some of the meals are what you would find in a 5 star restaurant. Dinner is served in the dining room (white table cloth style). Their community engagement team is absolutely unbelievable. Truly go above and beyond to accommodate EACH & EVERY resident. So much so they take into account and mobility limitations to ensure comfort and accessibility. The aids, I like to refer to them as “helpers to live your best life” were qualified and professional. My grandpa needed an extra hand after recovering from a brief hospitalization and assistance aided him to get back to his independence! All in all, this is the best there is in the Medina/Akron/Cleveland area! If you haven’t already taken a tour. You need to schedule it ASAP!

StoryPoint is a beautiful facility! It has amazing modern decor and is very well kept up. The staff is very understanding and helpful. My mom is very introverted so she doesn’t participate much in the activities but there are so many things offered! She also loved getting her hair done in the salon. We have had a great experience here.

I have found the support and services at Storypoint to be excellent. Although they have struggled with staff due to the pandemic as well as post pandemic, my husband was taken care of with great care and thought. The staff there are absolutely wonderful. My husband was able to engage in one of his favorite activities which is playing cards. It started out at once or twice a week and expanded to six times weekly. It improved his attitude and mental health to be involved with residence who had the same interests. His room was very very large and even though he struggled with his electric wheelchair, the staff was patient and supportive.

From the very first moment my Mom walked through the door, she has been given the ‘royal treatment’ StoryPoint is a close-knit community and has truly made my Mom feel safe, comfortable and right at HOME. A very special thank you to all the Medina Staff for everything they do to make their residents feel just like family. Truly a phenomenal place to live! Highly recommended!

The rooms and the common areas/facilities are well designed with safety as a priority. The staff knew my mom's name in a few days and they treat her with care. That makes our family feel comforted knowing she is in great hands.

Apartments are very nice, perfect size whether 1 or 2 BR. Small kitchenette area that is just right as meals are provided in the Dining Room or can stay in the apartment. Bathroom is designed correctly with ample room for wheelchair or walker. Food is excellent with lots of variety and served by a wonderful group of chefs and servers. Fortunately the dinners are top notch and lunches are cooked to order and like the ability to choose from very broad menu of Salads, Sandwiches, Lunch Entrees and Soup. Staff is always so cheerful and wanting to make life fun. Frequent trips and activities keeps everyone so busy. My mother enjoys everything that StoryPoint offers and time to share with some of the other residents.

The facility is very clean. The staff has a "do anything" attitude and everybody pitches in to get things done. The layout of the rooms are nice, well lit, with high ceilings. The field trips are diverse so residents have a variety to choose. My mom is Catholic and I wish the facility would provide a weekly trip to a local church for mass.

We cannot say enough good things about StoryPoint in Medina! Our super social mom needs to be around people. She has a gift (her heart) to share with them and she craves socialization! We, her family can only provide her so much. What we cannot, StoryPoint has! A combination of their caring staff and the residents Mom now considers dear friends has filled that void. We have seen her come back to life so to speak as she is busier than she's been in years and the social interaction has been good for her emotionally and mentally. She was resistant for years, feeling we would be taking away her independence and quite the contrary..... The move to StoryPoint has given her back her independence!

I was very worried about the health and well-being of both my parents before they moved in to Storypoint. Since they have moved in they are so active, happy, and all around healthier than before. Storypoint has taken away not only my stress but that of my parents. The rooms are more than big enough for 2. They hardly ever use their kitchen because of the great meals provided. The outings and activities are the best. There is always something going on at Storypoint. I would recommend them over and over again. Wish they would have moved in sooner. Thank you everyone at Storypoint!

This is a beautiful community for anyone looking for an Independent or Enhanced Living Facility. This community is a trail blazer in the care of our elderly who deserve & have earned to receive special care with dignity & respect. It is not a Nursing Home, nor is it an a traditional Assisted Living Facility - it is a unique hybrid approach to providing a safe, secure home for those who either no longer can remain on their own, or choose to move into StoryPoint. Our mother lives in the enhanced living section where there are caring individuals assisting her if needed 24/7. Her apartment is beautiful & we were permitted & encouraged to make it as much as possible like her home. She has a kitchen area, large living area, bedroom & bathroom. She no longer has to worry about cooking, cleaning or doing the laundry - they are now done for her & she can just enjoy life. The care givers administer our mother's medications on time, help her as necessary & check on her to ensure she does not have unmet needs. This genuine caring for our mother does not end with the care givers. Instead, it is given by ALL the employees of StoryPoint from the cleaning staff, kitchen staff, the receptionists on all the way up to the Administrators. StoryPoint provides a shuttle service for all residents to doctor's appointments & testing if required. The staff keeps in contact with family members & will notify us if any problems arise that we need to know about. They also give you updates whenever you visit your loved one. There is events happening daily that residents can choose to participate in if they wish. From having your nails done, to attending events outside the facility, to movies in house, picnics, shopping trips & getting your hair done - there is no shortage of variations of activities for the residents. Our mother is happy, comfortable, safe, friendly & caring about other residents at StoryPoint & has developed several good friendships - which are all positives in our opinion. Having a parent need to leave their home to a new "home" like StoryPoint is never easy to deal with for any of the family involved. However, the staff is there to support the resident as well as the family matters so all adjust to this scary change for your loved one. We haven't regretted having our mother move into StoryPoint. It is a unique approach to caring for your loved one & has been only a positive experience for our beloved mother.

StoryPoint has met and exceeded all of my expectations. My father moved in about three months ago. The facility is brand new. The apartments are spacious and bright. My dad has a patio that goes right out to the courtyard where he and some other residents have planted a vegetable garden. My father is very independent and still drives. He fixed up his apartment just the way he wants it. Laundry is free in the machines right down the hall from him. The food is awesome! I particularly recommend the chicken parmesan. They had lobster on Mother's Day! He participates in all the activities. I once called him to come help me with something in my home and he said,"Let's see... I can come after balloon volleyball." He has truly blossomed at Story Point. The place is beautiful, peaceful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There is even a smaller dining room where family dinners can be held. StoryPoint is truly the perfect balance between my dad's independence and peace of mind for me. I cannot recommend it enough.

StoryPoint, for my uncle, comes down to these four main areas: 1. The meals are delicious. For example a recent steak dinner was cooked to perfection. 2. The people are friendly. This is both the staff and the other residents. 3. The planned events are fun. Mix and mingles, card games and discussion groups. The events keep residents socializing and busy. 4. The facility is brand new. The building, the interior common areas and the apartments themselves are very well appointed and stylish (full size stainless appliances, spacious rooms with high ceilings)

The director and staff have been amazing! They are always available to answer questions and help in any way possible. Moving can be very stressful for the elderly. StoryPoint went above and beyond to alleviate the stress and help my parents feel at home. Mom and dad rave over the meals and have begun participating in StoryPoint’s numerous activities/services. I haven’t seen my parents this active in years! I can’t thank them enough!

Storypoint is a place that truly advocates quality of life for you or your loved ones. My parents moved to Storypoint from their home of over 50 years. It was a big change but the staff was amazing in making sure they were comfortable and felt at home. The communication between staff, residents, and family members is always clear and prompt. My parents were always notified of the diverse activities and when my mom needed a little more assistance they were prompt in notifying me. I am grateful for Storypoint.

Staff is exceptional. They provided care, true concern, much needed guidance, patience, and wonderful support at an extremely difficult time in my parents' lives. They went way above and beyond the call of duty, and I will forever be so grateful to God for putting these people and this facility in our path.

I moved my 92 year old uncle into StoryPoint in November of 2020. We have had family members in independent living facilities in Florida, Ohio, Illinois and Maine. We have never had an experience as rewarding and that gives us the peace of mind that StoryPoint has. My uncle has changed into a new person because of the wonderful and kind staff. Everyone from the Executive Director down to the housekeepers are friendly, caring and outgoing. He has come out of his shell in this environment. His apartment is beautiful and well laid out and the meals are absolutely fantastic! I can't say enough about how blessed I feel to have found StoryPoint. He moved from another facility that was so mediocre he was depressed, not wanting to spend his remaining years with poor food and unfriendly staff. Thank you, StoryPoint, for making my uncle's life so much better.

The apartments are brand new, with high ceilings, large windows and lots of natural light. My parents unit has a fireplace with a beautiful artificial fire that provides warmth, ambiance, as well being easy to turn on and off. The staff is warm, courteous and professional. My parents have become friends with many of the employees. While Covid safety restrictions have limited the activities, my parents have enjoyed things like excercise/yoga classes, crafts, live music, and salon sessions. Once Covid restrictions are lifted, we except to see many more activities flourish. The entire facility is extremely posh, with beautiful bright lounge areas, several excellent restaurants with delicious food and fireplaces in the common areas. It is like living in a 5 star hotel or being on a vacation on a luxury cruise (on land)

I live in California and helped my parents move to StoryPoint Medina, Ohio, in November 2020, during the height of the pandemic. It's a huge relief knowing they are living in their beautiful new condo fairly independently and with everything they need but with back-up when necessary. From Day One, StoryPoint made every effort to get them settled and make them feel at home. Enrichment activities occur daily and any isolation due to COVID is offset by safe staff visits for mini "celebrations" (e.g. cocktails or ice cream sundaes from a cart), holiday craft-making, live piano showtunes, and exercise/yoga classes, among other activities. My parents have bonded with their "family" of staff members and love the perks of being driven to doctor appts. or the store while maintaining their own car on site as needed. The facility's decor is tasteful and feels like an upscale condo that anyone of any age would be thrilled to live in. Everything is spic and span and my parents love their housekeeping services. They are also gourmet "foodies" and have been bowled over by the meals. I was fortunate to be there to sample several items and was truly impressed by the number of choices offered and the quality, freshness, and appeal of every meal. Now my 82 year-old Mom doesn’t have to make dinner every night for herself and Dad. The executive director checks in regularly with them, and all staff members go out of their way to do whatever is necessary to make their residents happy and regularly ask for feedback so they can nip anything in the bud. My parents love having some autonomy but feel more confident and less anxious knowing help is nearby if they need it. From across the country, I can rest easier knowing they are in good hands. Honestly, my parents have gotten quite spoiled in their new home!
